Yeah, I agree with that Stephen, my dad always told me to keep my head, feet and neck warm.

That's a million dollar hairdo I've got...............LOL

Can't wear earrings, haven't got holes in my ears.

Shelly,

Keeping warm.....................wear two or three layers of clothing. Light wooly jumpers are best. Make sure your feet are warm....wear wooly socks.......keep your neck warm.....wear a polo neck jumper.

And if your still feeling cold......wear a wooly hat. Might look daft but it works.

When we went to Aviemore last February we couldn't get up to the Ski area for two days.....the road was blocked........with snow.

Never seem to get it right, eh.

The tme wasn't wasted we had great walks in the forests and on the hills.

If I can find them I'll send on some magic photos we took. Snow formations were incredible.

Well they can't complain this year Stephen can they?

Shelly where've you been? I was getting worried about you.

Rita, Brent is upset, what he'll do all day is torment me.

Stephen2009 Report 29 Nov 2010 11:27

It's a glorious day here..........sunshie and clear skies........BUT....
snow up to my armpits in places.

Didn't even chance it going out onto the road.

So many roads in Scotland are totally blocked I've lost count now.

Even the main road from Stirling to Perth has been shut for more than 24hrs. The Forth Road Bridge is iced up and only to be used with extreme care.

In other words....if you don't need to go out.....DON'T.

Hey Ho ! Mrs Stephen will have to put up with me today....He He He.

Let's look on the bright side.......The Ski areas will be loving this especially if we get a hard frost later. They need another good couple of years to bring them back to making some cash. Skiing has been poor inScotland for a long time now....we haven't been getting enough snow. !!!!!!!!!!!!.

Hi Sue nice to hear from you. are you prepared for Christmas ? we have no snow here either but it it is jolly cold.

Pauline I bet Brent is upset about that, what will he do during the day now ? I saw parts of your district on TV this morning and they said most things were shutting down and cars were left stranded. and they were expecting more snow and they had not had it this bad for years and years so early that is.

I had a PM from Marilyn I told her to enjoy the sun while she can, as she can expect snow when she comes home. imagine her walking into shops in Devon with white faced shoppers and snow white ground and her with a lovely tan

Jean have you got treatment to day. if you are snowed in what will they do. ?

I think I need a cup of coffee now.

Love Rita

I've just had a phone call to say the day centre has closed down because of the snow, it's not just the buses that are off, the whole centre has shut down.

Apparently it's going to get worse as the week goes on. Can it get any worse?

Hi Sue.

I have bright sun shine it is reflecting on the houses in front how long will that last I wonder ?
It is still very cold, still a layer of frost on the grounds and cars. there are no black cars here now only white..
I was pleased to see Wagner go off last night. Simon said some people had tried to sabotage the show and I think he was right, ? I understand a group from Facebrook started it off. and they are doing the same for Ann Widdicombe

I hope everyone has an easy day and you don't get snowed in. ?

Marilyn was great finding her father in NZ I bet she was pleased.
It is a case of being lucky knowing someone in that area or going to that aera to do the search..
That must have made her day.

Love to all

Morning all.

Another day with loads of snow, but we got thunder and lightening with the snow storm this morning ........just for a change.

Thanks for the chocies Stephen, they were lovely. Have you got a spare sledge and a couple of huskies I could borrow? Can't walk in the snow now, it's going over the top of my (knee length) boots, think I need some fishing waders.

The bus won't be coming for Brent, it's got no chance of getting here..........so we'll have cabin fever again this year.

Thanks for the lovely breakfast Jean, just what I needed. How are you doing? Not long now for you to find out if all that cancer has been zapped.

Good morning one and all.
We have had a light dusting of snow this morning. I've been on my hands and knees praying we don't get any more, so much so,that i've got holes in my jama bottoms.

Take care Jean, when you go for your treatment today. And thanks for the brekkie, it was lovely.

Oh Maddie, what a bummer that you have to work on for longer. Try and have a more calmer day today, you don't want to be unwell for christmas.

Stephen, it was funny to read about your daughters guests. When I did the fostering years ago, the parents were Nigerian, and they also had never seen snow. The look on their faces was something to behold. They were very afraid to go out in it at first. I was surprised that they were able to walk, they had so many clothes on for warmth.

I hope Paulines son, Brent has been able to get to his day centre today, and that she has not had more snow.

Rita, stay in the house and keep warm, unless you really HAVE to go out.

Shelly must have hybernated. Goooood Morning Shelly.

Marilyn, be careful you don't get sunstroke.

I will be back this evening, bye for now folks.

Stopping for a wee break........I've been out since before 6.00am shovelling away at the VERY DEEP snow. Need the plough out now though.
Thank goodness I have the required gear to cope with this weather. Years of practice and experience soon lets you know what you need and what's totally useless.
The freezer is well stocked and we have loads of tinned food including milk. Wouldn't matter too much if we were snowed in for a couple of weeks or more, not that that is likely to happen.
I have in the past put the skis on and gone to the village to get a couple of things, more for a bit of fun than neccesity.

Thanks for the breakfast Jean, needed a top up of Coffee. Will save the rest till later.

A wee laugh for you all.......my daughter has Africans staying in her holiday apartment just now.......she wondered what all the noise was......on investigating she found it was the Africans dancing in the snow.....they had never seen snow before and obviously never felt it's texture. They had great fun.

Have a good day ya all.

Morning everyone, hope we are all well and warm.

No frost here this morning, so that is good.

My eye seems to have 'bleached' a bit this morning, just a bit bloodshot. So it dont look like I have been out on the tiles ALL night.

Marilyn, they have just given me my due retirement date, and have moved it 2.1/2 years. So I wont be going anywhere soon. So thanks for that Government. It is sailing further and further away.

Just off to have me brekkie, than pick up a couple of errands, then to work.
Busy, busy, busy. Aren't we all.

See you all later. Take care out there.

Thanks for the tea Jean
Had a lovely if rather cold weekend
The Christmas Market at Bath was overcrowded, too many people for all of us in our group !!!
Very pretty to see, but actually spent more time in the Roman Baths and getting a meal. Bath must really benefit from the influx of people, but it spoilt things for us. Will go again but at a quieter and warmer time of year.
There was some snow around but no disruption thank goodness.
The Sunday in the Cotswolds was lovely. Again very cold, but nice to see Stow and Bourton, some snow around but not even a covering.
Thanks for the photos:- Pauline's snow, please don't send it south !!!
Stephen, on your wedding, as a younger man and the snow angels. It is nice to see who we are talking to. Maddie as a child they are such lovely pictures and contrasting too, the portrait when butter wouldn't melt in your mouth........ then when Aunty had to restrain you !!! Well I know that situation well, my youngest was like you especially when it is necessary for them to be on their best behaviour. Actually just remembered my son's wedding and the young bridesmaid, she really looked as if she'd rather not be there. Very miserable in all the photos.
I hope everyone is keeping warm enough in the cold weather. Marilyn I know you need to keep cool BUT you will be back soon.
Little has chickenpox, but is still coming !!! Mum almost begged me to have her? Well if she is at all unwell I will have to phone and get her picked up. Will let you know later on how she actually is.
Have a good day

Hi All,

Maddie you are funny...... when are you due to retire from work ?
You cant possibly have broken vessels at your age or can you ???. hmmm in the 90's well yes possibly.. LOL

MO ....YES that was ME posting Huia about the two of us finding a member called Maria her biological dad in New Zealand last year.
We worked together on the case ..LOL and got the results in finding her dad that left UK when she was a little girl.
Maria has kept in touch with me in informing me of the slow but rewarding coming reunion that will happen in Feb2011.
There are two lady's that Maria wishes to meet to hug as she tells It ,for finding him and one is ME !! LOL.....and the other HUIA in New Zealand.
Now all I want is brownie points ,but they don't give them out on genes ,only yellow stars and they have been whooshed .

Hi Stephen.....My chocolates have melted....boo hoo .
