Been cleaning my cupboards out today (it must be the sunshine encouraging me to spring clean)
Anybody want
strawberry jelly -best before Feb 99
hundreds & thousands -best before Jan 01
chopped tomatoes -best before july 05
or (very) dried figs -best before Sept 02?
Going free to a good home!

Haven't braved the cupboard under the sink yet- I can only cope with 1 cupboard a day!

I've written a list of things which are nearing their best before date to stick inside the cupboard - whats the betting I loose the list!

Pammy, get yourself a drop of white spirit or turps and wipe the "Best before" dates off everything before you put them in the cupboard.
This means you never have to worry about sorting the cupboard out and you'll never have to throw food away again.

well i bring items forward every week .. and put weekly shop at back ... no out of date here lol.......................

I blame the OH for putting the new stuff at the front lol.
Still, it has encouraged me to make a soldiers cake as I found 3 packets of raisins, all nearing the sell by!

Pam only been doing that for 6 weeks lol .when we move .i threw out like you .stack them up told oh to bin them lol

what wrong with them he said .. i said they are ood [ out of date by a few years lol .. cant say what he said on here but he packs them now lol .....

Hi everyone

this reminds me of the time when our family stayed at my aunt's house (mum's older sister) many years ago. We found loads of tins in the cupboards that were out of date and bags of sugar and even butter in the fridge!!!

I'm just the same. Cleaning out kitchen cupboards as kitchen is being refitted next week. Time seems to fly and out of date stuff all thrown away!! Also, why do I keep buying things when I already have 4 in the cupboard?? What's that all about??
