Fingernails........been a biter pretty much all my life.

However........decided about 2 wks ago to try AGAIN to live with having nails again.......

Now they are growing......I HATE them.......Sooo uncomfortable.... but I know bitten nails look so horrible.

Prob is........for me....they're getting a bit too long and this is the time I usually get fed up and bite them off.

How can I make it so there isn't any longer bits on them that make me want to level them out.......I'm not sure that makes sense but I know what I mean *frets*

I have tried filing them in the past but there's always a rough bit that annoys me.

Anyone out there used to be a die hard nail biter that managed to grow them permanently?

Would appreciate any advice xx

Whenever I've tried to file my nails they end up crocked.....so I bite them off to level them out?

I didn't know you could get conditioner for nails.........

you dont have to have long nails Muffy to have nice nails. I ruined mine by having them gellied had some soak off done for Brazil and had a lovely manicure afterwards.. nice nails and well kept nails dont have to be long but I agree they certainly finish an outfit off... it they are annoying you trim then and file to shape.

Put some colour on them and see how much nicer they look.

rub a tiny bit of olive /baby cooking oil in at night that should stop them being brittle.

dont use cheap nail polish remover.....

or just sit on your hands,:}}}}}}}}}

I only bite them so they look level? I hate having loads of nail one side and not a lot the other as my nails seem to grow crocked?

I have a bit of an OCD thing about things being symmetrical. So I bite one side to level it up.......then it's jagged......so i pick at them and by the time I've finished I'm back to square one lol.

I'll get some oil for them though.......as when I got married I got my nails looking lovely then they snapped off.

Poor things aren't used to being long lol xx

There there Muffy

I feel your pain love,

my nails are rubbish, just really weak.

There have only been two times in my life when thery grew really well,

and that was during both my pregnancies.

But that's a bit of a drastic measure I think.

My problem is they all grow to a certain extent (especially if I use a lot of nail hardener etc) but thewn they get all bendy or brittle and I just lose tham all again.

I know what you mean about uneven bits you want to level out. How annoying!

Maria xx

Muffs

Hold your hand up to a mirror to file was a tip I was given then you can see how your nails look to others, you can get a nice shape it works.!!use a board file not metal....

I hated having to have short nails dealing with patients but now keep them reasonable or as long as I want......they grow quicker in warm weather aswell.

Now Hayley when Spurs are being naughty I bite through stress but as a rule.......I don't bite through habit......it's the OCD levelling up thing really.

Plus when I have long nails I scratch myself and make myself bleed so it annoys me lol xx
