we stayed home and did nothing

......... but the weather in Vancouver was glorious!!



It is 142 years since good old Queen Viccie agreed to give Canada nationhood status

Occupation by French, Portuguese and English date back to at least the 1600s in Newfoundland and Quebec regions.

The Brits won out though!!

Just come in as the mosquitos have come out!

Puttered around the yard deadheading four huge petunias with my back to the sun. Now my back and neck are as red as my Canada Tshirt. I had sun screen on, honest.

Slow roasted about 10lbs of BBQ'd ribs in the oven, and had them with corn on the cob and homemade coleslaw. Yummy.

Family stopped by unexpected so the day was more enjoyable.

Mary, the Chinese food sounds wonderful. What a great deal!

The kids and their main squeezes are out with the throngs enjoying the festivities. The fireworks should be starting in an hour or so.

A good birthday party was had by one and all :)

So glad you had a good time and got the freebie meal, always tastes better if it's free or cheap lol Mary.

We've had a great meal tonight, the Mandarin Chinese buffet was offering a free meal to everyone who had proof of Canadian citizenship.
All 7 of us went, only waited about 20 minutes and had a huge free buffet meal, complete with crab legs. Now the fireworks are going off, I can hear lots of pops outside,
Spent the afternoon at a local park where there were lots of festivities going on .
Happy Birthday dear fellow Canucks, I'm off to bed.

Thanks for the birthday wishes for our beautiful country.

There are celebrations planned all over the country for today.
The weather is fantastic here for all the party goers.
Locally here there are concerts at many venues. The parks will be packed.
At 10 pm the fireworks begin.

I'll be celebrating by painting the trim on our house, and BBQing ribs for dinner.

Hi Deb - Happy Birthday Canada - good wishes to you all.

When I was about 12 years old (many moons ago!) my Dad (complete with family) had the chance to go with his company to live and work in Canada. My Mum was all for it and my sister and I were very excited - BUT he wouldn't even consider it. Many years later I think he regretted it but by then it was too late - such is life!

One day I would love to visit your country - we all have to have dreams - some of which come true.
