In the TV mag yesterday it says that the new series starts later this month on BBC1. It tells about actor Martin Freeman (one of 6 episodes) who is shocked to discover that his great-grandparents were both blind. I've looked at the BBC website and had a google, but I can't find out who else is going to be featured. Can anyone else have a bit more luck than me?!

apparently :)) No Keith not this time....but wouldn't it be good if each series they did one 'ordinary person' as well?

thanks Rose, where on earth did you find that, I couldn't see it anywhere!

some of those 'celebs' are not ones I really like, but I will watch anyway cos I just love the stories! Apart from Kim Cattrall (who is American I think?) hopefully there won't be so much foreign travel this series and it will be more relevant for those of us researching boring old English roots!

lol Keith,.......... being a bit of a peasant, I just love being ordinary.....knowing my luck though, if they did me, it would dredge up some notable somewhere just to spoil all my ag. labs......lol....

I just love these programmes, and there are not enough of them for me......and I agree with Rose that it would be good to get an ordinary Joe now and again.......I also liked the series they did with ordinary people thinking they had royal roots.....

Can't wait for the series to start.....thanks Maz for telling us....

I love this series too, but would love to see ordinary people on there as it is so expensive doing research I assume that the celebs get all this for free including travelling to different countries.
My uncle applied many years ago to research our ree on some new progrmme, can't remember what it was but unfortunately rejected. Not interesting enough?!

series starts next wednesday - I just sky plussed it - first up is Davina McCall. she has french roots, so more overseas stuff! will still watch it though.

Am I going to be allowed to have my say if I behave myself??

I love this programe, have done even before trying to find my roots, also loved the other one about regression to see if we have been here before.

No one interesting on my tree so far, they were all lead or coal miners on one side, and cutlers on the other.

Haven't cracked mothers side at all yet, I think they came from Mars.
