Hello to all

Amanda, that is good news about your son and his girlfriend. I'm fortunate that both my children live fairly close to us.

CC congratulations on the 'publication' of your article.

Tec, it is nice to know that you are still in the land of the living.

~~~ to Linda and Sue
Good Morning Allan,
Thank you, I'm just glad to be here. Hope your weather looks like being fair today when daylight breaks.
Please pass my regards to Mrs Allan, and No 1 Cat.
and the others, should they get a complex!
Good morning Allan.
I have one living 10 minutes away, one living in Hobart and one still at home. He's left twice but keeps coming back. I think I look after him too well. Especially at the moment because he has a broken foot - caused by his 4 y.o. nephew.
Tec the No 1 cat sends his regards and has asked me to thank you for thinking of him!
Sue, my son is about 10 mins away and my daughter 20 mins.
Unfortunately, rain is forecast today, but we really do need it.
The last few days have been very balmy and spring-like
Thank you Allan : ) and sorry I didn't sort out the Mead recipe for you this morning .... I have been distracted but I will get round to it .
All four my children are close by ( only one still actually at home ) , so I consider myself very fortunate .
Having said that .... Linda , I'm sure that the old saying of " absence makes the heart grow fonder etc " has some truth to it , my lot are always in my home , raiding my fridge and eating all my food , so having them on the doorstep definitely has it's drawbacks .
I hope your son can hop around soon Sue, it took Perse quite a while to recover from hers.
My son kept coming back as well Sue, he was about 27 before he finally left for the last time,but now he is happily settled in London with his girlfriend. I only speak to him maybe once a week, but i talk to my daughter every day. I always have done ever since she first went away to university. if I don't ring, she will ring me to ask why I haven't rung.
Amanda, it must be a younger generation thing.
When my son deigns to visit, his first action is to go to the fridge and see what's in it: then he may enquire as to our health and well being :0))
Actually Allan , I don't think it is a younger generation thing . It's an ancient thing that stems back into the mists of time....lol...... I used to go and visit my Mum and Dad and would always open their food cupboard and fridge , whilst asking how they were I hasten to add ........lol
My son in Hobart rings once a week or I ring him. To the great amusement of my future SIL my daughter and I ring each other everyday. What he finds amusing is that we can spend the day together and still ring in the evening. We've told him we after debrief and if the day has been an occasion we need to discuss everything in detail:-))
I don't mind my youngest still being at home - although his dad doesn't always agree:-)) He is quite capable of taking care of himself and does so whenever we're away. I do his washing and he generally eats with us because it isn't practical nor economical to get him to do his own. He will help his dad with big jobs around the house and yard - when asked and he pays board. We're happy to have him at home for awhile longer now he is going to university.
Sorry Tec - I didn't answer your question about enchiladas. They are a Mexican dish. A soft doughy wrap with a chicken, beef or bean filling in a spicy sauce. Very tasty and quick to cook. I have made them at home but they are fiddly so I'm happy to buy them. We have a chain of stores here called Lenard's Chicken. They make a range of "ready meals" as they call them. Crumbed chicken - although I prefer to do my own - chicken sausages etc. Very handy when you need something quick and they are reasonably good quality.
We were very happy to have our son here as well Sue, it was better than him being on his own and he could save up money. He went down to London when my daughter who was already down there needed a new flat mate. they lived together for about a year and a half and got on very well. They then both met their respective partners, so are both happily settled which is good. It is just a pity that they are so far away, but we would not like to live down there, we are happy "up north"
Good Morning Diane,
I posted to you earlier, but it got whooshed, hope you have recovered from the gardening.
I wouldn't want to live in the South either Linda, much too busy. Prefer my cave in the hills lol.
