I haven't run away Linda, but this site went weird on me.

Thanks Sue - sounds quite nice, I haven't seen them here, but I expect can be found in a decent supermarket - not that our supermarket is indecent you understand, just very basic.

Tec.

Sue sorry to hear about your son's foot hope it is better soon.

The reason I'm late on here is because we had a bit of exitment earlier, a car was on fire at the back of the flat's right next to a house. The privet's at the side of the house caught fire and the blaze from them has melted the gutter of the house, this is the second time this has happened in the same spot, I feel sorry for the home owner as he had only just got the privet's grown back from the last time.
I had a phone call this evening from my dad's neighbour telling me my dad has had another fall and it happened at night which mean's he can't get back up off the floor when he fall's. The neighbour say's he is concerned about my dad and has been in touch with dad's Dr. As you all will remember I had a wasted time with my dad some month's ago when I phoned the police, his Dr and Social Services only for my dad to cancel appointment I had made with his Dr and when Social services went to visit him he told them he was fine and didn't need any help and also when the police arrived to check on him he told them he was fine and wouldn't even give them the detail's they wanted so they had to ring me back and ask me for the information. I was glad that the neighbour rang me but as I explained unless dad excepts he need's the help or agree's to move back near me there is little I can do from here. He is very stubbon and independant and while he is telling everyone he is fine and they see he is at the time of there visit , they have said to me there is nothing they can do if he fefusses there help. GGRRRR elderly parent's.

I don't know why but enchilda always sounds like some sort of insect to me.
We always have fajitas when we go to my daughters because her partner likes to make a meal for us and it is the only thing he can make

That will have Tec even more confused

I got it Tec

It is a pity that your dad won't have an emergency pendant Diane, that way he could press it and summon help when he falls. There isn't much you can do if he is refusing help. I think they just don't want to admit they are not able to cope and are frightened about having to go into a home.

CC when you look in I just want to say, last night and tonight I have made myself a drink consisting of hot milk honey Whisky and cinnamon and it seem's to be doing the trick for my throat, i woke up this morning and my throat was much improved.

Goodnight our Linda - sweet dreams.

Diane - such a difficult situation. My dad was very difficult about giving up his independence. By the time he went into aged care my mother was worn out as I was. My dad had dementia which made him very difficult and child-like at times - bless him, he would've hated it if he'd known how hard it was to care for him at home.

Goodnight Linda .

Hello Diane , thank you for the good wishes about my son , I do like to be about if they need me , it makes me feel useful : )

I'm sorry to hear about the problems with your Dad , it must be very frustrating for you . It isn't easy for the aging parent to admit that they are weak and vulnerable sometimes . It's good to know that he has a good neighbour looking over him .

Sue , I hope your sons foot heals well .
Tec , this site was being weird for me yesterday , I do hope they arn't tinkering about again : (

Linda he was going to get a pendant that is connected to his phone at my suggestion, they arrived to fit it and then asked him to sign a form for direct debit, he turned round and said he would pay by check or cash each month to which they replyed they only excepted direct debit for the system so he told them to take it away as he will not do anything by direct debit. I also had him on the waiting list in my area for sheltered houseing when I asked had they been in touch with him he said no, after 12mths or more I went into the houseing office to inquire why they had not been in touch with him, their reply was ( after checking the detail's ) he had canceled his request for houseing from them. When I asked him why he had cancelled he said they were asking to many private question's, I was quite annoyed with him and felt it was all a wasted time trying to help with this kind of thing if he wasn't being honest with me. Now you can understand why I was not copeing with thing's earlier on in the year as this was only one of the problem's I was dealing with.

Happy birthday to the twins and enjoy your tea Sue : ))

Diane .....he sounds like quite a handful . I must admit that I refuse to do direct debits as well , so he isn't alone . It's an awful situation for you as I can see that you are trying so hard to do the best thing for your Dad but he is resisting for some reason . Have you talked to him about his objections ?

Goodnight Linda, you can read my last post tommorrow.

Amanda it is on my insisting that his neighbour has my number as I his, I told my dad after the last incident when he rang and said he couldn't remember how to cook his meal's and he couldn't remember some thing's the day before and when I questioned him about thing's he should know I became very concerned and said I would ring him back later in the day, It was then that I contacted his Dr and Social Services and made all the arrangement's I said about in my earlier post. After it was all over I said to him he had to give me his neighbour's number and to give mine to the neighbour and unless he did then I would have no choice but to do the same thing if I didn't get an answer from him when I rang. He just doesn't seem to realise how much I worry about him.
