Just adding my bit to the family situation. All four of mine tried flatting and all came home again. The two older boys were each 32 before they married and the third one was 36. Daughter wasn't a child-bride either. She was 24.
They all now live within a half hour drive from me. My daughter comes in to check on me weekly and emails me daily - often. I keep check on the others through FB. Don't see a lot of them, but if I need something, one word from their sister and they are here immediately - so I can't complain. Also, THEY make the coffee when they visit me - and they usually bring the food - all made up and ready to eat.

Tut Tec,CC is not a witch. If you don't believe me, we could always conduct a test. Wasn't it something about being thrown in water. Can you swim CC?

HEEELLLOO anyone there

I have had a awful stressfull day, my son hasn't seen his little boy for some time as the mother has made it very difficult for him,(long story ) anyway today he get's a phone call off her while in work ( though she deny's it was her who rang ) saying his son is in hospital, he rang me in work and I said I would meet him when I could get away. Before I left he turned up at my place of work and said she wouldn't let him see his son and refused to tell him what was wrong, he could see his son in the corridor playing so at least we know he is not seriously ill. My son is in a right state now. He had come to term's that the best thing for his son was to walk away because of the way the situation was when-ever he did see him, this was a horrendous decision for him at the time but as a family we all thought it was best for my grand-son. Over the past year or so her family have sent load's of messages or tried to add him on facebook and when he hasn't responded they have resorted to threat's and abuse. A couple of mths ago the mother sent him messages taunting him with thing's like ( your son need's an operation arnt you bothered ) he tried to sort an arrangement with her but she just made thing's difficult until in the end he had to say don't contact me again unless you are willing to discuss this like 2 adult's and not try to use my son as a weapon. All the time this was going on she wouldn's enlighten him what was actually wrong with their son. I cannot believe this women can be so uncareing, we have now discovered that her father has put ( what I would call as a threat on his status on facebook ) stateing that if my son or any member of the family go near his grand-son or his daughter he will( eat him alive and spit his bones out ) and more but I won't put that up.

Good evening Linda, hope you had a good day, as you can see from my last post mine hasn't been one of my best.

Oh Diane - how awful for you and your son. What is wrong with some women that they deny their child's father visitation rights - it hurts the child too. I don't know the whole situation but perhaps it's time for your son to get legal advice. He has a right to see his child.

Tecwyn Report 5 Aug 2010 22:56

Good Evening Linda, and Diane,

Diane I am so sorry to hear of the awful day you've had. These kind of situations are so complex, and so difficult to resolve to everyone's satisfaction. Obviously the most important person in all of it is the child. As the child is apparently not seriously ill, and in view of his mothers attitude, it may be better if your son were to leave the situation until tempers cool, and the situation is calmer, however hard this may be for him - it seems he cannot win in the present situation.
Try not to worry too much, there is nothing you can do is there?

Linda, Witches were tried by water in the Middle Ages. They were dunked three times in deep water - if they survived then they were innocent.
This test could be arranged at the Lea Valley Resovoir, which is not that far from CCs residence. We will get her a Wet Suit so as to not spoil her frock.

Good morning Tec. Try to do the dunking while it's still warm. I don't want CC to freeze in the water.

I am so sorry that you have had such a bad Diane, .as Sue said your son has a legal right to see his son and I think social services can set up supervised visits for him

Good evening CC and Sue.
Eve has been a bit of a naughty girl today, howling all through her bath apparently - she doesn't like water either.

Good evening Tec,you arrivedwhile I was typing

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 5 Aug 2010 23:03

From wikepedia

Dunking is a form of torture and punishment that was applied to scolds and supposed witches.

In a trial by ordeal, supposed witches were immersed into a vat of water or pond, and taken out after some time, thus and given the opportunity to confess. This process was usually repeated until the victim drowned or gave up and confessed, leading to them being executed in another way, usually hanging or, more rarely, burning. Also, if they had their hands/feet tied, they would be left under water. If they floated they were guilty of witchcraft, if they sank they were innocent but would have usually drowned anyway.

Tec, that sounds a bit severe, I don't think CC will like that

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 5 Aug 2010 23:13

Good Morning Sue,
Good Evening Linda,

Well yes, dunking is a bit severe - so I will give CC an ultimatum - she gives up witchcraft, and enters a convent, and takes a vow of silence for a period of three months, which means she will be out in time for Christmas - even I couldn't leave her sitting in a cell alone for Christmas - I may be cruel, but not callous.

I have a photo of my daughter having one of her first baths and she was screaming as well, Eve obviously takes after her mum

I had a corker of an enquiry today

Could your William have lived in London, and his father be Thomas

When i asked for more information such as a surname, the reply I got was

Sorry about that...William c1818...and Thomas his father c 1791.

Given that I have a very large tree, I don't actually know the answer

He did see a solicitor when he first started seeing his son and for a while she allowed him to see him, without going into detail because I'd be typing all night she started messing him around when arrangment's were made, one inccident was we had arranged to pick my grand-son up and take him to town to buy his christmas clothes, I had arranged to finish work early and we were going to meet my daughter in town, about half an hour before my son was to pick his son up as arranged she rang him to say he wasn't well and we couldn't have him. Well as I had taken the time off work I rang my daughter and told her to still meet us as arranged and we could still do some christmas shopping and go for a meal. When my son and I arrived in town we went into the shopping precinct and quess who walked past us ( yes you quessed it ) my grand-son's mother her new partner her mother and her father and she was pushing my grand-son in his pushchair, won't bore you with the rest but I was none to pleased and I had to hold my temper. Anyway the long and short of all this was she did similar thing's after that even to the point of telling her solicitor my son had verbilly abused her in front of their son on the last time he dropped him off, I know this wasn't the case as I had been with my son on this occasion and thing's had been totally different than the way she had reported back to her solicitor. A week later my son received a letter from her solicitor saying she was withdrawing contact and he would have to take her to court to fight it. It was then as a family we agreed with my son's decision not to fight as he thought it was best for his son's sake not to, as this woman had made thing's so difficult for so long and was only going to continue in this way my son didn't want his son to grow up continually seeing this sort of thing going on. There are some who would say he should not have given up under any circumstances, I can only say my son did not take this decision without a great deal of thought and many sleepless night's and he told his son's mother if his son was ever ill or wanted to know were to find him would she get in touch, she promised she would ( though knowing her the way I did ) I just knew deep down that she would do something just like she has done today.
Well I'm now at a loss as what to do next for the best and so is my son.
