CC, i will happily pass this new contact on to you, i don't think I want her to be a relation, she is obviously going to be hard work

SueMaid Report 5 Aug 2010 23:39

Diane - I wouldn't comment on your son's decision. Right or wrong it is what he felt was best at the time. You must be great support for him - that's all you can do.

Hello CC - sorry I was rude in not greeting you earlier.

Tec I agree with what you said and yes it is the child that is the main concern in this.

Now I will talk about more pleasant thing's.

Tec you are so mean on CC thinking she is a witch, how can she be she doesn't have a black cat as far as I know, OOPPs she doe's have a cat,

CC is your cat black?

I have a very embarrising photo of my youngest with no nappy on asleep on his changeing mat on his tummy with his bum stuck up in the air. That's one for showing the girlfriend lol.

That is what is great about this thread Diane, we are always here to help each other when we need it.

I am off to bed now, so goodnight everyone.

Sorry to go before you arrive Berona and I wonder where Alan is today?

SueMaid Report 5 Aug 2010 23:54

Diane - I hope you know that you can share the bad stuff and well as the good stuff with us. That's what friends are for.

We have a very funny photo of one of grandsons sitting on a chair with his head on the table fast asleep. The fellas in the family put an empty bottle of wine between his arms. His other grandmother was very annoyed and said it was most inappropriate as it was at a christening party for the twins. I thought it was hilarious and it's definately a photo to bring out at his 21st.

Diane, Sometimes it helps to share our worries with our friends, and get their point of view. As Sue said, all you can really do is support your son, and be there for him when he needs you. Most importantly, don't let the situation affect your health, that will help no one. You take care.

Well I must go to bed.
Enjoy your day Sue, and Allan and Berona when they appear,
sleep well Linda, Diane, and CC,

Goodnight,
Tec.

Thank you all for listening tonight and I do know my son has right's but we have lot's to think about ( like the threats from the family and most important my grand-son and what is best for him ) my son's decision will be what he feel's is best for his son.

Now I must do what I haven't done yet and that is greet you all properly.

Good evening Tec, Linda, CC

Good morning Sue and if you have arrived by the Time I post this Allan as well.

CC I used to have an Alsatian ( black and tan ) but when I was little one of our neighbour's had a black one, they look more like a wolf than an Ally, but with really ( if you can say ) pretty faces.

Sorry everyone - one of those mini crisis that crop up in households. No water - out of our control and it appears it will be sorted soon as there are a couple of trucks driving up the street. Son isn't too happy as he wanted a shower and he has to go to work - sitting down of course:-))

Everyone has probably gone now so hopefully I'll catch up with you all later.

Just missed you Sue.
i was busy sorting a B&B out for tomorrow night. We have to go away for my sanity. Tomorrow evening there is another "do" in the grounds of the hall next to us. Unlike the last one which we attended and finishes at a reasonable time, this one is not scheduled to finish until 1am. If it did, at least we would know what to expect, but for the last few years it has been going until 3.30am. Think pounding outdoor disco right in the middle of a residential area and you will get the idea. There are loads of complaints about it but they just thumb their noses and carry on regardless.

I have been wanting to go back to Cragside in Northumberland for a while, so have found somewhere to stay near there. I have been to Cragside three times before, but always as a teacher with a party of school kids in tow. OH has never been,so we thought we would go there. The house is fantastic, all original William Morris furniture and wallpaper. The grounds are lovely and they have an elaborate hydro electric scheme which powered the electricity for the house. It was one of the first houses in the country to have electric lights I think. It was owned by Lord Armstrong who made his money in Newcastle owning engineering works which later turned into armaments factories. I think they made tanks etc, but I might be making that part up

CC it is cloudy England here

Hi Linda just looked in again. What a pain to feel the need to leave your home because of noise. Although it sounds like you're going to a lovely place that's not the point.

It is annoying Sue and of course this year since we are going away, they are sure to finish on time.
Anyway as you say we are going somewhere nice. We are always flitting off, but we deserve it, well I think I do anyway!!!!!
That reminds me, I must knuckle down and book a holiday abroad for early September, there isn't much time left now.

It is the Elswick engineering works CC, it is just a suburb of Newcastle now, it is right on the river

Good morning/evening friends. Hope you are all well. Looks like it's going to be a sunny Saturday here.

We are planning on going to a home and leisure expo today. It's held every year at a racecourse just 10 minutes from us. We always come home with grand ideas that fade until the next time we go. The one I'm really looking forward to is the gardening expo at the end of August in Sydney. We'll be taking mum as she really enjoys her garden and like me always likes looking at unusual plants.

Good morning Sue. You must buy something, just one little momento of your day

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 6 Aug 2010 22:10

Why only a little momento Linda - why not a big one:-)) To be honest there is very little that we want to do to our house now. While OH was working we went through a check-list of things we wanted to do such as no maintenance guttering, roof resprayed, new fences, verandah built and we had the kitchen and bathroom remodelled. Not all at once:)) We want to travel now that OH has retired and not do more than normal maintenance on the house. We have discussed renovating the area at the back of the house where we have a seating area and bbq under a pergola. We're not sure if we want to tile the area or put in decking. We even thought of getting someone in to build a verandah similar to what we have at the front but as we use the front verandah more often it may be unnecessary expense. Even when we have a bbq we tend to put a long table at the front and eat there.

good evening Linda and morning Sue,
Today was another rainy day here, just hope we get some more suuny day's before the end of summer.

Linda it is sad that you have to leave your house to get away from the party that is to take place along side your home. Good excuss though to have a break.

Sue hope you enjoy your visit to the home and leisure expo and maybe see something to purchase.

I am all for travelling while you can. No one knows how there health is going to be,so there is no point in waiting. Mum always said that we should go away while we could. Of course she didn't really like me going lol.
I have spoken to my travel agent and she has come back to me with some suggestions for our next jaunt. We have chosen one option and will book it in the morning

Good Morning/Evening Everyone,

Hope everyone is well, that and you enjoy your weekend.

Linda should you see any furniture you think I might like in that house, just send it on to me - I like William Morris.

Sue, You should treat yourself to something hugely expensive and exotic for your garden.

Tec.
