Hello Diane, given all the problems you had with your neighbour, you will understand the annoyance at not being able to sleep

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 6 Aug 2010 22:33

The furniture is fabulous Tec, but I think they might object if I were to remove it

Diane

Diane Report 6 Aug 2010 22:34

Where is Allan? He hasn't been on for a couple of days. Did he say he was going away or have I mis remembered that?

Diane

Diane Report 6 Aug 2010 22:37

You can say that again Linda, only I couldn't take time out for 8mths lol.
Seriously though it is not a pleasant thing to have to put up with, even if you do manage to sleep you keep wakeing up hearing the bang bang bang of the bass, feel's as though your head will explode.

Hello Diane and Tec.

Linda - that's what we think about travelling. You never know what's in the future so do it now while healthy. Especially as we like active holidays - lots of sightseeing, walking etc.

I rather liked the collections of china dinnerware in Castle Howard but I have an idea they wouldn't be too fussed about me taking a souvenir. I really can't see Linda being able to pick up some furniture for you Tec. I like William Morris too.

Has anyone heard from Carole recently or Perse.
I know Perse is busy at the moment doing her property's up but she usually pop's in to say hi even if she dosn't stay and natter for long.

Allan has most probably escaped to another thread to chat the woman up.

Good Evening Linda,
Diane,
Good Morning Sue,

Diane the weather here has been atrocious today, wet and windy all day.

I definately agree everyone should travel if they have their health, and can afford to - I bitterly regret not having done so when I could. Although I can afford to, health issues for both of us prevent this.
So - make hay while the sun shines kids, and enjoy it. you're only here once.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 6 Aug 2010 22:51

I think that I will leave the hay making to the farmers Tec, I will just do my bit by increasing global warming with all the air flights

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 6 Aug 2010 22:57

Tell you what Linda, you can have my share of carbon footprints, then you won't feel so guilty, as your contribution will be halved:))

You are so considerate Tec, I will take you up on that

Diane

Diane Report 6 Aug 2010 23:00

Well mine will be zero Tec as i have never flown.

Good whatever all.

You can call off the search parties now.

I had a very late night on Thursday so didn't surface until turned 8.00 am of Friday morning and immediately got the ironing out of the way and then we went on a decluttering jaunt.

Much stuff went to the Salvos.

Diane, I have read the previous posts and I am so sorry that your son is having all those hassles.

Both my children have been through divorces, but fortunately there were no little ones involved.

Today we are off to my daughter's as she is having a party to celebrate her 30th which is actually tomorrow (Sun).

On Sunday her and her partner are coming over to our place for lunch. She has asked for roast chicken with all the trimmings.

Linda, re the 'do' next door to you, doesn't that need Council Approval? I know that in West Oz any function like that requires prior approval and is usually a conditional event.

I haven't flown very much Diane - one flight from Singapore to London, a few flights in a small private plane, that's it.
All my travelling was done by sea - very little carbon footprint.

Good morning Allan
hope you are rested now and rareing to go. thank you for your mention about my son, yes these thing's can be very unpleasant. He was not actually married to his son's mother ( thank god ) and he was never put on the child's birth certificate ( much to his annoyance ) so this is were the difficulty arises about his right's.

I wish I had been to all the places you have been to Tec, you have seen so much of the world.

The event does need licences Allan, after last year our neighbours checked with the council and they didn't actually have all the ones they needed. I bet they do this year, but they still take no notice of the time limit which is why we are going away

Allan

Allan Report 6 Aug 2010 23:15

Tec, I suppose that the sea would wash away the footprints?

We've been to the UK 3 times - long long flights but worth it. It's here in Aus. that we've flown often. Flying down to Hobart is almost like catching a bus. It takes as long to drive up to the airport as it does to fly to Hobart, Melbourne or Brisbane. We did drive down to Hobart a few years back. We drove to Port Melbourne where we went - with the car - on the Spirit of Tasmania ferry. This was a 12 hour overnight trip. We booked a cabin but a lot of the young ones just make themselves comfortable in the lounge as it's cheaper. I like a bit of comfort these days:-)) We then drove from Devonport where the ferry docks down to Hobart - a three hour drive. It's a lovely drive with lots of small towns on the way so it took longer than 3 hours.

I would love to go up in a plane above the cloud's just to say I have had the experiance of it. I have these silly idea's of going hand glideing, parachute jump, flight in a airballoon and flying in a helicopter are just some of the thing's I would like to try at least once, not saying I would do it a second time though lol.

Good Morning Allan,

I have recalled the bloodhounds....the Sisterhood were very concerned that you may have escaped.

I though of you today - I watched one of those antique Flog It programes on tv. Someone had a charming little gold brooch depicting a spade, a pick, bucket, and small nugget of gold, with the name Muchison in tiny letters over the brooch. The box was from a jeweller in Perth WA, with an Italian name. Apparently the name Murchison was connected to a Sir Roderich Muchison who had an interest in the gold mine in WA, and I believe there is a river also of that name. Pity someone from Perth didn't buy it.

Hope you and OH have a nice time at your daughters party.

Tec.
