I prefer shorter flights these days. It took far to long to get to Mexico in January, so we will stick to Europe I think.Except there are so many places I would like to go to Oz for example

Hello everyone .

Linda ...enjoy your trip ....I 'm a William Morris fan as well .

Diane ...sorry to read about your sons troubles . I'm in a similar situation but in reverse , these situations are always so very complicated : ((

I've never been out of the UK so my carbon foot print is very green , as are my fingers , as I was gardening most of the day in sunny Norfolk : ))

Tec, here is a link the the Shire of Murchison.

A fascinating place as it is the only Shire in WA that doesn't have a townsite.

Hello Amanda, are you well?

You are lucky that it was sunny today Amanda. it was raining a fair bit here, but stopped for long enough to go to the allotment. I finished tying in the new raspberry canes

Hello Linda ....our Raspberries are just started to fruit ( Autumn ones ) .

It was one of those " golden " mornings and the afternoon was ok but it did cloud up eventually . We seem to get away with it , weather wise , in Norfolk most of the time . Guess it's the lack of hills ?

Hi, Amanda - hope your son had a great birthday.

Hi Allan - hope your daughter has a great birthday. Is there an echo in here?

Actually my OH's 2 x great grandfather is called William Morris - if it's the same one then the family fortune is long gone:-))

My son in Hobart is separated from his partner but fortunately they stay reasonably friendly for our grandson's sake. His other grandparents really like my son and I doubt they would encourage their daughter to deny access. We also like our grandson's mum and her parents and when we visit we always go to dinner. I know we're lucky and I hope it stays that way.

Good Evening Amanda,
Are you hogging all our sunshine over there - I have a cousin in Norwich, I expect it was sunny for him too.

Thank you Allan for the link, I'll have a look later.

Tec.

When we've been in the UK it's in summer and we love the fresh berries that can be bought at markets. In fact we just about live on them. I find raspberries expensive and tasteless here - even when they're in season.

Happy birthday to the respective children

Having seen your tree Sue, I think that I can safely say that it is definitely not the same William Morris, so you had better continue looking for the pennies down the back of the sofa

Hello Tec .....I should ask " are you hogging all the rain ?".....but I won't...lol

Sue .... I found a William Morris in my tree but it wasn't THE one either .

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 6 Aug 2010 23:41

It could be that William Morris simply got around quite a bit?

Diane Report 6 Aug 2010 23:42

Good evening Amanda, when you say you are in reverse do you mean you stop your child's father from seeing his child/children, I know there are time's this is neccessary but I don't agree with it when there is no reason for the child not to see the other parent. In my son's case it is just a very bitter woman and a really mixed up family ( that is my only way desrcibing them ) other's would probably say evil after the thing's her father said on FB and the many threat's he and other family member's have made over the last 3yrs.
Good to see some-one in this country has has some nice weather, make the most of it as it probably won't last.

Is that what your relations did Tec?
I feel left out here because I don't have a William Morris

We have just found out that OH and choir will be singing at the Nannup Flower Festival on 22nd August. I'll take some photos.

Nannup is a small town on the banks of the Blackwood River. It was an old mill town but is now more of a tourist spot, very delightful.

I have just checked and I have an Albert Herbert and a Mabel Morris, but no William

Allan

Allan Report 6 Aug 2010 23:47

Also, on the news the other day a hoon was caught speeding in Margaret River Town Centre by a speed camera.

He was doing 164 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone. It iwas the fastest speed ever clocked in WA by a camera.

The car was seized and the driver will be in court sometime soon.

Linda I've got a William Williams who pops up all over my tree over several generations - he was incredible, now I shout at him "Oh not you again"...........he certainly got around - for ever.

Allan Nannup sounds intersting - and I never dangled my feet over the sdide of the ship on account of sharks

I guess where broken relationships are concerned every situation is different. I know a young man who separated from his partner and is unable to see her little girl as he has no legal rights. He met the little one when she was 2 and was part of her life until she was 7. He was the only daddy she knew but he's just not allowed in her life. He loves her dearly and is heartbroken as are his parents who are friends of ours.

Yes I read about the hoon Allan - I hope he loses his license for a long long time.
