CC, I'll dig them out over the next few days.
I have some taken in The Canberra War Memorial/Museum, as well as some of the old Parliament house.

Until Allan said good morning, nobody seemed to miss me! So I'm sad. I've been off the air for a couple of days because my mouse died on me. I knew the batteries we not old, so I took them out and cleaned everything, and returned them - but no good. Put new ones in - again, no good. So, I have been trying to use the computer without a mouse - again - no good!! To-day, I was about to put the mouse in the bin and go out and buy a new one, when I removed the new batteries and for some reason (I don't know why I did it) but I put the old batteries back in - and voila!! It works again. It had faded on me a couple of times, but is still working, so thought I would let you know why I haven't been around, before it goes on me again. I will arrange to get a new one this week because I really didn't like being without my computer (EVEN IF NOBODY MISSED ME!).

I am so glad your mouse survived to tell its tail/tale. Berona
Mine was as much use as a marzipan mouse the other day. We disabled the computer wall socket (stupid thing was half-way up the wall unlike most of the other sockets that are just above the skirting boards) - so I had to crawl under the table and re plug here and there and now have cord traipsing over to the other side of the room but it has been pulled several times with all the construction going on. Himself has decided to shift the entry door into the room and most of the interior wall has now been dismantled so it is open plan with the hall.
That's enough apart from the fact that no CC it isn't that cold here - we have only one space unclad in the ceiling now - the rest has new panels.
Thanks Allan for the pics - I have been to the Womens' Prison at Ross - they really had it tough. The prison system was a lot harder on them than it was on the men at Port Arthur (though the men could not talk to each other they were fed well and no one died of neglect)
Diane - your poor son is really being sorely tested. There is nowt as queer as folk as the saying goes. My cousin was unable to see his daughters for years and when he finally did see the eldest one (then a grown-up and married) she asked him what kept him so long. She would've liked her father to give her away at her wedding but her mother would not allow it and he was not invited. He died when he was in his late fifties and neither daughter or grandchildren were mentioned in the obituaries. LIves can become very complicated with all the tangled webs one weaves - this is well documented in a lot of family trees.
It is truly hard to know what to do for the best. I just hope things eventually work out for him and that the little guy will later come to realise that his father was one of the good guys.
Well Linda was away and now she is away again - I was going to mention Yorkshire Tea - My husband purchased a couple of packets (one of them Yorkshire Gold) from one of our upmarket where you can buy expensive through to cheap grocery items - they have a wide range. Both packets seemed to go down well - blended by Taylors of Harrogate. At the same time he bought another packet from a NZ supplier - he did not like it - e-mailed and told them so - they were most surprised - told him how to make it properly, and said they would post him out a couple of packets. OH made contact with them and he was invited over to their place - been having a tea tasting ceremony and whilst he says it is refreshing it was not strong enough really, they also gave him another three packets... won't have to shop for tea for awhile. Me I very rarely touch the stuff - Don't eat enchiladas either but my daughters do. Coffee is my witches brew.
I am trying to come on the thread more - but with all the upheavals it is difficult .... in fact I thought I was going to be removed a few minutes ago- but no - he has moved a shelving unit right up behind me and my chair is squashed right up to the desk - now I have to extricate myself from here or die amongst the rubble.
Tomorrow we will be taking our younger granddaughter Anya shopping she turned 13 last week and she is the most difficult to buy for.

Hello CC .....hello everyone that might be about .
I awoke in the night to the sound of torrential rain , so the garden has has a jolly good drink , I'm glad the rain woke me as I was having a rather tangled nightmare ( something to do with Edward Woodwood an asylum and someone/ thing biting the back of my hand ? ) , it was most unpleasant , I was making weird noises in my sleep and my OH resorted to knocking my face to wake me up .....lol....he was still half asleep !! I don't often get bad dreams and hope it doesn't happen again . I had a nice day in the garden , planted some new plants , so it's spiced the boarders up a treat .
We had a thunder storm in the late afternoon and I've been out hunting slugs and snails this evening , the blighters had all homed into my new specimens !! I hope you have all had a good day / morning : ))

Good morning/evening - is everyone busy? You must be 'cos I found our thread languishing on page 3.
My daughter loves Yorkshire tea and I always bring her back a couple of boxes when we visit the UK.
The home expo was ok - I was a little disappointed at the exhibits but then OH got quite a bit out of it. I did buy a nifty little grater which is really just a saucer with a very rough surface. All you do is rub garlic, chocolate, cheese etc over the surface and it grates them very finely. It was inexpensive so worth a try. I used it last night and it works quite well. I would still use my cheese grater for parmesan as the little saucer grates too finely.

Good morning/evening to each and everyone.
Helo Sue and Amanda.
Amanda that was some nightmare. I dreamt that I was in Fremantle where K Rudd our very recent ex-prime minister was visiting.
Oh told me to go and ask him for a bottle of Port and he recognised me from a previous attempt to scrounge a bottle of Port.
Terrible dream as I don't drink port!!! :0))
I hope that your son had a nice birthday.
Sue, your visit to the home expo was at least fruitful :0))
The dinner last night was good with very good company. The mother of my daughter's partner is also a genealogy fan, and like me relatively new to it, so we had a good chat. She is also a member of the local Family History Society in Australind.

The other day someone was admiring her rhubarb and asked her whether she put horse manure on it.
OH replied that we usually put custard on it !! :0))

When we had the verandah built just over 2 years ago we had a new garden to plan. I wanted something low maintenance so we decided on the native plants. They grew so quick and the garden looked well established very quickly. I loved watching the garden "grow up" and I had so many comments from neighbours and people walking past. Now I need to do some work on the back garden. I'm never totally satisfied with the plants.

Sue ...I have come to realise that the nature of gardens is that they are never finished.....they morph and change over time don't they .....I know my one has taken on different aspects over the years .
You can almost guarantee that the plants you least like will be the ones that do best , whilst the ones you really love and want in abundance will probably limp along at best .....lol

Good Morning/Evening Everyone,
It would seem we are all keen gardeners - I am happier pottering around my garden than anywhere else. I miss some of the bigger garden we've had in the past, but wonder if I could actually cope now, so make the best of what I've got.
Sue I'm disappointed that you didn't come home from the expo thing with something huge and extravagant :))
Allan, Glad that your daughters birthday dinner was an enjoyable occassion, and I hope today is just as good.
Tec.

Sue, yes it was a good evening.
Amanda, my daughter's birthday is actually today (8th).
As other on this Thread know, earlier this year we completely remodelled our back garden and dug up the back lawn so that we could grow more vegetables. It was hasrd work as it all had to be done by hand, but is now paying off. We have already had some peas and Caullies, as well as Silverbeet and turnips.

You're right Amanda - gardens are an ongoing project. I love fuschias but I don't have much luck with them. I've seen them in the UK and in cooler areas of Aus. and they grow beautifully. Same with azaleas - I have no success with them.
