Tec, I could never be so far up myself as not to be able to have a laugh.

I've worked with people who have taken themselves, and their positions too seriously and a right load of miserable b***rs they were!

You're right Allan - there are people who are too full of their own self importance. I have met many people in the hospital system who assume that because my group are volunteers they - as professional people - are somehow superior. A lot of them are youngish people that don't see life experience as an asset.

I only made stink bombs once with some schoolmates. We were on detention for a long while so I never did it again:-))

Life is too short Allan to take oneself or position too seriously, but we meet those people everywhere - but it's such fun to wind them up I have found........sometimes to my cost lol.

Berona

Berona Report 9 Aug 2010 00:04

Thank you for asking about me. I would love to say all is better now, but the soreness is still there. No sign of anything ON the skin - it's the damage to the nerves of the skin that is still with me. I cannot move once I find a comfortable position when I lie down - then the soreness abates and as long as I don't move, I then have a long sleep - but once I move, I have to get up because it just gets worse if I stay there.
I'm OK whilst walking around (but the knees don't allow much of that) and when I sit, I cannot lean back in my chair, so I am on the move - can't stay anywhere for long. I have learned to live with it.

Berona Report 9 Aug 2010 00:10

Sue - stink bombs? you? tut tut.

Dare I ask how they were made?

Allan

Allan Report 9 Aug 2010 00:19

Berona, I'm sorry to hear that you are still having problems.

Will the soreness abate with time?

Tecwyn Report 9 Aug 2010 00:21

Berona I am so sorry that things are not much better for you - it has been a long time. Can't the doctor give you something to deaden the nerve pain? I really do hope things improve soon for you.
Keep your chin up, and treat yourself to something naught, but nice.

Well as it's very late, I'm off to bed,
Enjoy your day all Down Under,
sleep well Up Top. ~~~~~~~to Diane and Amanda, and all missing persons.

Goodnight,
Tec..

Ammonium sulfide Berona - or rotten egg gas. I can't remember now exactly how it was done but it was so foul smelling. It was a common trick of the Year 12's on their last year of school.

Have you been back to the doctors about the continuing soreness Berona? Or is it just a matter of time before the soreness goes.

It's taking me ages to change pages on here. Anyone else got that problem? or is it my computer asking to be replaced?
Yes, Sue, the Dr gave me another script of the tablet which only 'helps' and puts me to sleep easily. However, it put me into the habit of sleeping long hours before, so I haven't attempted to take any from the new script. It didn't stop the soreness, just put me to sleep. Doc was concerned that is might be 'inside' the arm, chest, etc. but I can feel that it is only the skin, so she said "it might take a while, but will eventually go away". I knew nobody who could tell me anything about it at first (early April), but have been in touch with quite a few since then and they all have the same info - "It can be OK after only a few days, or it can stay with you for weeks, months even a year - but it will eventually go away". Looks like I drew the short straw!

You would most certainly not have made stink bombs in my lab Sue.
It is Ammonium Sulphide (no American spellings here) which comes into contact with the moisture in the air to produce hydrogen sulphide and Ammonia.

I am sorry to hear that you are still not well Berona, life is just so unfair sometimes

Good morning/evening friends - I trust you are all well.

It's raining:-(( I like rain but not when it's cold. A refreshing downpour in summer is very welcome and cooling but in winter it's just miserable.

Yesterday (Monday) I had a productive day. I went out and bought two nice baskets to store the overflow of dvds and to take the photo albums out of the bookcase so I have room for more books. They look very smart and tidy under the coffee table. Then I baked two loaves of banana bread. Later for tea I made a chicken and mushroom pie which went down very well. So much for the relaxing day I was going to have but it was enjoyable.

Greeting Everyone from my cave.

Good Evening Diane, Did you get to the flower show on Sunday?

CC.... Who on earth was Madame Arcati when she was at home?

Linda - Wish I'd been a pupil in your lab - up to all sorts of treachery. - I would have led you a dogs life - while you weren't looking of course:))

Good evening Diane and Sue. It has been raining here today as well, but that was to be expected as it was a horse race meeting this evening and it always rains on race days

SueMaid Report 9 Aug 2010 22:50

Hello Tec and Diane.

Tec - Linda has told me very sharply that I wouldn't have made stink bombs in her class so what makes you think you would get away with any shenanigans:-))

Diane - there is some banana bread left over but you'll have to fight my OH and son for some. The other loaf is in the freezer. Banana bread doesn't last long in our house.

Goodevening Tec and Linda

Yes Tec we did get to the show and it was well attended as the weather was kind to us ( for once ) and we enjoyed it very much. I bought some slices of home made cake's and they were lovely, can't beat home made.
Employer's mum bought a few gift's from the craft stall's and I have to admit they were all reasonally priced.

Linda we have had rain most of today as well and thing's don't look as though they are going to improve.

Good Evening Linda.......Sweet lady:)) lol.
