Well, well, well, most of the gang are here!

CC I have emailed you. You were the only recipient of the photos, mainly becaue I think that most Aussies will have seen Sydney and Canberra, but also because they were taken several years ago.

That's right Linda, blame the OH for a simple mistake!

another common trait of the sisterhood :0))

Hello to Persey, et al

Yes Sue two sleepless nights in a row.

It is cold in here tonight with not having four walls to surround me. It has been very mild weather but the rot has set in again. Canterbury had a beautiful sunny day earlier in the week, snowed overnight and did not stop it was really thick on the ground - looked like a Christmas card except for the smashed car that went out of control.

Been out today and bought a musical jewellery box with a ballerina dancer for a very dainty three year old's birthday party that I am going to on Sunday. I have filled it with sparkly baubles etc for her.

Persey xx

Good evening Aussies and good morning to the Brits ( this is novel as I usually have to say that the other way around ) .

Sympathies to CC and her sleepless night ( I expect she is curled up like a dormouse now ....lol ) ........it must be horrid to have troubled nights , something that I thankfully rarely suffer from .

Persey , the music box sounds a delight , I was always fascinated by them when I was a little one , I hope the little one loves it : )

It is wet and dull here this morning , OH is going fishing later and I suspect I'll get very little done today as I feel rather lazy today .....lol

Persephone Report 10 Aug 2010 11:07

Diane used to have a lot of sleepless nights Amanda.... her noisy neighbours and their acrobatic performances during the night etc.
We were so glad when they finally got removed - poor lass was awake all hours.

Sent you some pics Allan.

Cheers Perse xx

Amanda2003 Report 10 Aug 2010 11:23

I bet Diane is so relieved that they have moved .

My neighbours are quiet at night but the one on the right just loves to start up something loud , like a lawn mower or power tool at exactly a minute past 8am on a Saturday and Sunday !! Our " nickname " for him is " Hammer face " as he looks like he could drive nails in with his hard set chin .....lol

We used to have one a few doors up and across the road who would have late night rowdy parties. My OH - decided after one late night escapade of theirs to follow it up the next morning with our speakers on the front verandah blaring "Amazing Grace" - in the hope that he would be annoying them sleeping off the night before.

Not a word was said.

Ooh a flurry of day time activity.
I hope you get your walls back soon Perse and can stay warm.
Mercifully Amanda our neighbours are not early risers.

I have been cleaning Sue. In fact I have given the kitchen a deep clean. I have washed down all the cupboards and paintwork, done inside the dishwasher and dismantled the hob and cleaned that. Everything is stainless steel, so I have given it a good polish. The only thing I still need to do is to clean the inside of the windows, but I am having a little break first. Then all I have to do is the rest of the house lol

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 10 Aug 2010 11:40

Oh dear LInda ....your making me feel very guilty and I might just have to do some housework now ......lol

Persey.......I so like your revenge tactics : ))

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 10 Aug 2010 11:50

So you should Amanda, off you go. If I have to suffer , you should as well lol.

Well enough rest, stage two cleaning is overdue.

Persephone

Persephone Report 10 Aug 2010 11:56

With all that cleaning Linda you will need another break. I am the building site cleaner upper.

Sorry to keep missing you - I see you and Berona finally made contact again the other day.

Amanda, take no notice of our Grandmother Linda, she is forever cleaning and baking and quilting and sewing and cooking and touristing etc - she does all this whilst I just have a coffee and think about it. On top of all that she works at her picture theatre as well. Oh and then she helps Tec with his research and finds out other bits and pieces as well.

Why she can't just sit around and rest and read a book is beyond me. I can feel a headache coming on just thinking about it all.

Lol Linda...

Cheers Persey xx

Amanda - don't let Linda shame you into doing housework. She's just showing off:-))

Persey - so good to *see* you.

It's been a horrible day today. Cold, wet and miserable. Hopefully it will be much nicer tomorrow - I have a lot of running around to do and I hate driving in the rain. However that's one thing we have no control over - the weather.

Sue xx

Hi CC - you appeared while I was typing:-))

Persephone

Persephone Report 10 Aug 2010 12:12

No CC our other neighbours were amused by it all.

Re the noisy neighbours - their young son took up the bagpipes a few years later.

One of their children when he had got his first car (a Morris Minor) - he used to leave it outside their place with a blow up Mr Blobby sitting on the front seat. One day I saw the car with its lights on - so knocked at the door and reported that Mr Blobby has left his lights on.

Berona Report 10 Aug 2010 12:50

Good night Perse, and to others too. I am trying to go to bed early so that if I sleep long hours, I will be up early enough to say good morning to you all. My problem is that I like to read in bed - so although I am in my bed before 10pm, whatever I'm reading governs how long I sleep!!

I don't have noisy neighbours as such, but when they forget to put out their bins, they sometimes go rattling past my bedroom window at midnight and I don't appreciate that. One neighbour forgot one night and went rattling past my window at 4:45am. That woke me and I lay there for a while until I heard the garbos in the distance, clearing the bins. Looked at my clock (5am) then dropped off to sleep again - only to hear same neighbour rattling past again - bringing it in this time - at 5:15am! Why she couldn't leave it until later, I don't know.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 10 Aug 2010 13:56

I am not showing off Sue, I just think that if I am doing all this housework, then the sisterhood should share my pain. CC has joined in and Amanda too.

I just had a novel experience, I took a shower with my clothes on. I didn't mean to, I was standing inside the shower cubicle scrubbing the tiles down when I knocked the controls.

Our dustbin men come about 5.45am Berona, so a little later than yours, I always hear them, but just go back to sleep.

Well no rest for the wicked, I had better get back to the cleaning. I am not just doing the normal stuff, but the really thorough type I only do once in a while.

Amanda2003 Report 10 Aug 2010 14:05

Well I've cleaned the stairs , the lav , and tidied up the " craft room " , daughter is busy rummaging in boxes of her old stuff from out of the loft and OH has gone fishing ..........so I'm having a little rest and a coffee before round two.....lol

I'm so glad my dustbin men don't call that early !

Thank you for the e-mail CC ...what a good idea ....I'll print it out when I have a new ink cartridge : ))

I don't like the sound of your " mad axeman " .....I suspect he might have done to his prized Salix , what I did to my Buddleia Alternifolia a few weeks ago ...lol.....but it looks as if my one has forgiven me : )

When I clicked to see what your e-mail was about , I had the surprise of three other e-mails from a newly discovered distant rellie on my Clissett branch.........so I'm off to digest ....lol

I think that would be a wet T shirt competition CC. Sadly these days the only looks I would get from the judges would be ones of horror.

I am just having a mid afternoon coffee and thankfully just have a little bit more i want to do after that,so I shall keep your email until I have finished
