Greetings from the Land of Song.

Today was a perfect day weatherwise, clear blue sky, wall to wall sunshine, and this evening there was a spectacular sunset over the sea. Apparently, there is a meteor storm passing near for the next two nights, so we may see shooting stars after dark.

This evening I hauled a very heavy 3 seater settee/sofa into the road for the Council to collect in the morning - together with two old televisions. So the front of my house looks like a tip tonight. I'm sorry in a way to see the old sofa go, it was so comfortable, with huge feather cushions, but was well past it's sell by date. We have had it for ever, but had detachable loose covers made a few years ago. They don't make sofas like that anymore. Goodbye old friend.

Tec, you shouldn't be hauling things about, you should have got hte Duchess to do it.

I have just been on cinema duty, I watched this one It was "Letter from Juliet" a terribly over the top cheesy chick flic

Good Evening Linda,

I did suggest the Duchess move the sofa into the road, but I just got "the look" actually had she have carried it the 20 miles to the landfill I wouldn't have had to pay the Council to collect it - some people have no consideration.

I can't remember the last time I went to the cinema, must be at least 20 years ago. I used to go every week when I was young. Lassie films made me cry.

We have had some special showings of programs of short films like The Mail Train and older propaganda ones from the war. You would probably have seen them first time round ......... ducks

HI everyone

Phew need to sit for awhile !

Hope all is well with everyone? My job is going well, very busy and they say its the quite time (heck). Have allocated jobs for the boys to be doing while I am on my way home from work as I don't get home until about 5.30ish. All in all its going well.

Last football game this Saturday for my youngest cannot believe we are at the end of the season already. Good though I may get a sleep in on a Saturday wooohoo. Older son will most probably be in the finals so that may not end until mid September sometime.

Linda how is the new addition to the family going? Smiling by now? Oh bless.

must be off to hang out the washing undercover as it suppose to rain today!

Keep smiling :))

Good morning/evening all from a miserable south east Australia. I'm sunshine deprived:-(

Linda - I really don't like chick flicks and there are so many out at the moment.

CC - yes I did read your post about the book. I'm going to have a look on Ebay and check with my local library. Hopefully they may have copies. You mentioned the Sharpe novels - OH has a couple of them in his collection. I like watching Sharpe rather than reading - could have something to do with Sean Bean:-))

Good Morning Janet, and Sue,

Janet I'm pleased to hear the new job is going well - you are such a busy bee - hope you find some time for yourself.

Sue that Linda can be so cutting at times, good job I'm not the sensitive type.

WW2 of course Tec.but silly me of course you would not have been born then.
I am not keen on daft films either Sue, but one of the volunteers has to be inside the cinema just to make sure there are no problems, so we take turns in to watch

Janet, I hope you manage to get some rest soon, it brings back memories of ferrying mine around

Good morning Allan,
"Black look" Tec, you are just an amateur in comparison to the Duchess and me

SueMaid Report 10 Aug 2010 23:19

Hi Allan - would love to see the photos of Albany. Having never been to WA I've really enjoyed your photos.

I've perfected the "black look" too - most women have. I've noticed my daughter has developed hers to perfection.
