It is getting darker earlier Sue, which is not good, for us anyway.

OH is wanting to go to bed, so I will bid you all goodnight

Tecwyn Report 14 Aug 2010 23:23

Yes Sue, it is noticeably darker in the evenings now, and I have noticed a whiff of Autumn in the air over the last few days - but I like all the seasons for various reasons.

Good night Linda - sweet dreams.

Tec - you must be in tune with the seasons. I love Autumn especially after a long hot summer. I tend to get down in the dumps if the weather is overcast, windy or raining for days on end as I suspect a lot of people do. I can feel my mood lift when the sun comes out. Yesterday was a glorious sunny day - the temps. reached 20 degs. As the afternoon tea was in a hall down by the lake it was beautiful with the sun shining on the lake and a view of the mountains in the distance.

Hello Diane : ))) don't feel guilty about having slept for a few hours , it sounds as if you needed it .....I expect your all bright eyed and bushy tailed now arn't you ?

I love the Autumn once it is here but the approach can have a vague melancholy effect on me , it's always been the same for as long as I can remember . My Mum passed away in early September a few years ago , so now that also tinges my feelings of Autumn ( but it's so right somehow and gives me something to focus the " vague " feeling on ) .

Thank you Allan, hopefully it has but of old these kind of headaches can come and go :( .

Good Evening Diane,
Glad you feel better after the headache has cleared. You obviously needed that sleep.

Hello Diane and Amanda. Glad your headache is much better Diane.

My yoga instructor told us that we need to listen to our bodies. Eat when we're hungry and stop when we're full (except at afternoon teas) and sleep when our bodies say we're tired. I think that would also mean accepting your melancholy moods as Autumn starts, Amanda.

Amanda it's not so much guilt that I feel but more that I'v missed out on talking with all of you :). I do feel better for the sleep but I won't find it to hard to sleep again soon, hard to explain but when I have these kind of headache's they just zap me and I could sleep round the clock if I wanted.

Hi Sue, I totally agree with what your yoga teacher said, as soon as my day started at work I was wishing I could just shut my eye's, so when my day at work had finished ( 4pm ) and I had returned home and had something to eat I just went straight to bed, was asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

Hi Tec thank you, I suppose you are feeling quite tired yourself after your early start.

Amanda2003 Report 14 Aug 2010 23:51

Well I'm pleased to hear that your earlier rest won't disrupt your " proper " sleep Diane .

Sue .....I don't mind the melancholy , in fact I embrace it in a funny sort of way ........I often get the urge to write poetry when that mood is upon me , so I can utilize the feeling : ))

I wish you were able to get a job where you could have regular days off, Diane. Yes I know I'm talking like a mum but I do worry that your body is finding the hard work difficult to deal with.

I must be off as the master of the household has indicated he would like to go to the markets and I'm not complaining because that means fresh vegies and flowers:-))

Enjoy the rest of your evening Poms and a good day to our Aussies. Tec - hope you have a better nights rest.

Sue xx

Amanda - it's good that you make your moods work for you. I should really try to do that too.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 14 Aug 2010 23:55

I like the "quietness" of Autumn - the amazing Autunm colours on the trees, the smell of a wood fire drifting from a neighbours garden, cobwebs covered in dew in the garden in the mornings, and the feeling that the garden has gone to sleep for another year.

Winter means closing the curtains early, and long evening by the fire, with nothing to do outside - time to catch up with my family history.

I couldn't have put that better myself Tec .

Nothing like a dew spangled spider web to greet the nip in the air morning , when the air feels brand new : ))
