I really don't want to know where you've been bitten Tec:-)) |

Sue, As far as I know snowdrops grow anywhere in the UK, maybe it doesn't get cold enough where you are. |

I wonder what Tec considers to be unmentionable? Being a refined lady, I shall not enquire any further |

And I wouldn't be so indelicate as to tell you either :)) |

Thank goodness for that |

No Tec - not everyone grows gladioli:-)) Actually you can of course buy the bulbs but I don't often see them anymore. I don't think they're fashionable or maybe Dame Edna put people off them. |

Yes - I suspect Dame Edna may have killed them off. You don't see them here much either. Personally I've never liked them - too garish. |

The problem with tall plants like gladioli is that you have to stake them up or they blow over, well up here they do. I don't mind where you have a drove of plants in a border and you can stake them in a block so the plants grow and cover the supports, but can't be doing with individual plants |

I'm off to wash up after dinner - we don't have a dishwasher in the cave. |

How uncivilised, but then I suppose caves are. Just put the dishes in the stream and let the water run over them - job done |

I don't care for Gladiolus either , we grew some on the allotment one year because OH quite likes them . |

I have had a dishwasher for years. I first got one because OH was working abroad so often and I was working as well as looking after the children. It just made life easier for me. I wouldn't be without one now |

Amanda - we don't have a dishwasher either. When we had the new kitchen put in just over 2 years ago we debated whether we wanted one and decided not to. |

That's the thing with household appliances .....if you have them you come to rely on them . |

We do eat off plates though. |

I have a tumble dryer and a microwave lol |

I do have a tumble dryer although we don't use it often and I do like my microwave. My daughter has a dishwasher and dryer and I certainly see the value in her having them. |

Amanda - If you lived in Wales, you would want a tumble dryer. When our old one died, it was chaos here with the wet washing until a new one was delivered. |
