Well the holiday I had was in Wales Tec , so I guess that's why there was a tumble dryer on the premises .

I have managed ( even with four children ) to get away without one , but I have found a few " laundresses " in my tree , so I guess that's why I rise to the challenge of laundry with such gusto .

Only for posh Tec, we drink coffee so I use mugs.i have lots of white ones which survive the dishwasher

I don't use a cup and saucer , I've got a few stashed away in a cupboard , I like nice crockery and have to stop myself from buying " pretty " plates etc from charity shops .

Cups and saucers ? Yes when we have people over for dinner I use cups and saucers but for everyday we use mugs. However I do use nice bone china ones for myself. I've got some lovely old sets that I've collected over the years so on the odd occasion when I have ladies over for morning or afternoon tea I allow them to choose which set they would like and all agree that tea tastes so much nicer poured from a teapot into a china cup.

We drink tea and coffee - but I insist on a cup and saucer - bone china. Maybe I'm a dinosaur, but some things I can't give up.

You're not a dinosaur Tec - I know a lot of people who like their tea and coffee in a bone china cup and saucer. We all have our little luxuries.

I would like to say that we always sit at the table for dinner but at times we sit in the lounge room with a tray. Especially in winter as it's warmer.

I think I was the last person in the UK to reluctantly convert to teabags, as a
gainst loose tea - but I still swear loose tea makes a better cuppa.

You can have a cup and saucer if you come to tea Tec. I have some china mugs because my sister insists on one, but I am happy with my ordinary white pottery ones. In fact OH has just brought me a coffee in one now and no it doesn't keep me awake

Hello all

So many posts, so little time.

Sue as I said in a much earlier post, put tulip and snowdrop bulbs in the crisper of your fridge for a week or two and then plant them.

We didn't lift ours last year and now have a few tulips showing foliage at least!

We have grown Gladiolus, and still get the occasional flower springing up.

You will just have to get up earlier to read all the posts Allan.

Hello Allan - yes I do remember you suggesting putting the bulbs in the fridge. I'll try that but I hope my OH doesn't slice them up for a salad:-)) I have some bulbs sprouting in a pot and I think they may be tulips - I'm not sure.

Snow drops here only grow under the shade of walls or trees even in the wild. They never grow out in the open at the front of borders

Good Morning Allan,,

I was wondering where you were, and had anyone seen you, have but would have been surprised had they said yes.

I had seen Allan Tec, he was on another thread.
err I am not here goodnight again. (Diane I hope you are better)

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 15 Aug 2010 22:55

You mentioned snowdrops earlier Sue .....they are notoriously difficult to get going , it is recommended to buy them " in the green " as in actually growing in pots , rather than as dormant bulbs in a packet .

Hello Allen : )

Tec ...loose tea is better tasting but I'm a bit lazy and almost always go for the easy option , inferior tea bag .

Goodnight Linda - sleep well.

Tec I have been remiss in asking after the Duchess. I hope she is feeling much better.

It seems to take an age for my computer to 'wake' up in the mornings.

Strange as it is only when first booted. Thereafter, for the rest of the day, even if we turn it off at the wall, five minutes is all it takes to get back on line.

First thing, about 30 minutes before I can properly use it.

But again, if you lot would stop being so chatty, there would be less for me to catch up on :0))
