I've never been Up Norf, so don't know what Hull is like, it might be exotic for all I know - but I've not seen it in the brochures.

Hull's not exotic Tec although driving over the Humber Bridge is great.

Amanda - my youngest grandson loves sticking little pom poms onto his cards. The eldest one loves stickers and I can buy sheets of them very cheaply in a discount shop so I have a steady supply. My granddaughter likes to paint but she needs to be covered from head to toe:-))

Sue, You've seen a lot more of the UK than I have, I was too busy running around the world to see much of my own country - strange that.

Amanda, My daughter is a teacher in a infants/junior school, she has great fun teaching little ones to make things - don't know that I could cope with a class full lol.

Tec.... I must admit that when it comes to direction I'm a bit " challenged " but according to my calculations ( and depending what area of Wales you are in ) you might well live " op North " , as far as I'm concerned .....lol

Sue ....when you say she needs to be covered from head to foot , do you mean in paint ? ....lol.....why not let her loose in the summer time with a huge piece of paper and lots of bright poster paint , in the garden , with a paddling pool on stand by to dunk her in when she has finished creating her work of art ? ....... bet she would come up with something fantastic : ))

I used to love doing all the messy craft things when my children were little, it will be good to be able to do it again

Sue, you should have let Tec find out about Hull for himself. We do have some lovely places up here really

Visitors always see more of a country than residents, Tec.

Amanda - my granddaughter is amazing. She's always covered in whatever. Paint, food or dirt. She can eat exactly the same as the boys but most of it ends up on her face.

Linda - I think one of the most beautiful places in England are the North Yorkshire Moors. I love the countryside around Pickering. I also love Northumberland.

Goodnight Linda - I will start cleaning very shortly:-))

I don't think I'd want to cope with a class full either Tec ..... your daughter has my admiration : ) My kids have sucked me into there school life from time to time over the years , we helped to run a gardening club for awhile , that sort of thing and it was very rewarding whilst it lasted .

Linda ...second time round is even better because you can be more organised about it : ))

Tecwyn Report 17 Aug 2010 23:29

Goodnight Linda, I know there are some lovely places in the North.
sleep well,
Tec.

Amanda - I'm in North Wales, actually if you draw a line from Norwich it's more or less a horizontal straight line to where I live.

Goodnight Linda ....happy dreams : )

Sue ....your Granddaughter sounds delightful : )) My third child was similar sounding , very " full on " with whatever she was doing , I've got a photo of her aged about two , she was covered with paint , face , hair , both hands but all you really notice is the big happy smile behind the mess ....lol

Just popped in to say that I haven't dropped off the twig. Have been sent to the country for work. For Sue and other NSWelshpeople, about 100 km north of Griffith.
I may be able to get on tomorrow morning using work's computer. I have a good internet connection but the link to the company server doesn't want to know me most of the time.
Linda, I know we don't speak but I would like to send best wishes about your grand-daughter (is it Eve?). I hope she is going strong now. If I remember correctly she was very premature.
Hello Amanda, Tec, Sue, Berona, Allan and whoever looks in.

Hello Colin. Good to hear from you again and to know all is well. Have you moved permanently, or just to do a job there? Take care (and don't join the Mafia!).

Good morning everyone

Thank you for your congratulations on Eve's arrival Colin, I hope that you can get internet connection and join in the thread again.
The don't join the Mafia is obviously some Aussie in joke lost on we Brits

Good morning Berona, I hope you have had a good day

Berona

Berona Report 18 Aug 2010 10:00

Yes, Linda. The town of Griffith has had quite a reputation in the past.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 18 Aug 2010 10:10

I am intrigued Berona, but given it is the Mafia, perhaps you shouldn't say any more, I don't want strange men knocking on your door late at night
