It's because the blood rushes to their heads!

Shoulder bag - all the better for swinging - particularly with a brick in it lol.

Goodevening Tec and Linda

Goodmoring Sue

Linda as you say he is stubborn and I just hope it isn't his downfall, if I had a car and could drive I would go up every now and then but as I work every day it isn't possible as it is a train journey and a couple of buses to get to his so by the time I got there it would be time to come home again.

Tec I'm glad your daughter and granddaughter arrived home safely, the weather here this morning was awfull, at 7-40am it started to thunder and lightning and we had just put my employer into the bath , I was downstair's putting thing's in the washing machine when there was a flash of lightning, I shot back upstair's to help his mum get him out of the bath very sharpish because he sit's on a rise and fall chair that we get him in and out of the bath with and it is mainly made of steel, not ideal when it is lightning.

Sue I hope you find something nice at the expo and that you all have a nice time.

Good evening Diane.Thankfully the rain wasn't that bad today, but it was very humid. It was also far too hot in the library, I couldn't wait to have a shower when i got home

Sue I don't think I have any influence over a ex school teacher, she might put me on detention and I don't like that as I had enough of them when I was at school lol. Have a nice time and when you return you can tell us what you bought.

Linda even though we had the thunder it still remained very humid here too and still is but now as I sit here chatting with you the wind outside is getting quite strong.

Enjoy your visit to the Expo Sue - have fun.

Good Evening Diane,

It is very awkward for you with your dad - but you can't do anymore.
Good job you got your employer out of the bath, there could have been a power cut - or is that aparatus not power driven?

The sun came out at 5 pm.

Hi Tec, I'm not sure how it work's all I know is I press a button for up or down on control that is attached to a lead that is attached to the chair underneath the bath, now you've got me thinking there Tec how does it work ? As for my dad I just listen and make suggestion's which I know he is not going to take any notice of :(( I just hope he see's sense before it's to late and he end's up really hurting himself or worse.

My mum had a bath chair Diane and it had a rechargeable battery. The part with the up and down button in it pulled off the lead and went into a charger which was them plugged into the mains. She just recharged it once a week, but if yours is a hoist type, it might run off the mains

Hello Tec, Diane and Linda : )

Sue ....the garden thingy sounds interesting , I hope you have a lovely time .

Commiserations to you fellow Brits that have had horrid weather today , it's been hot and sunny in Norfolk for most of the day . It even reached 32 degrees at one point in my back garden : ) Maybe the Summer isn't over just yet ....lol

Sorry to hear you have more problems with your Dad Diane . It must be a great worry for you .

Hello Amanda, i hope you had the sunblock on if it was that hot.
I am off to bed now, so i hope that you will entertain Tec and Diane, you could do some virtual tap dancing for them.

Goodnight everyone

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 20 Aug 2010 23:01

Good Evening Amanda,

32 degrees? Are you sure you're in Norfolk? we haven't had those temps all summer. It isn't cold here, in fact very mild, but oh dear, the rain is awful. Hopefully the weekend will be better.
Maybe you are having the Indian Summer over there! please send some back here.

goodevening amanda,
how can you come on here and tell us about your glorious weather when us poor thing's up north are haveing such horrid weather :) as for my dad Amanda I have just learnt to bite my tongue when he ring's me and tell's me of yet another fall, I feel like shouting at him and saying ( it's your own fault ) but were would that get me, I love him to bit's but if he won't listen to my suggestion's my hand's are tired. ( stubborn as they come ) lol.

Linda I think his chair must go straight to the main's as we don't have to charge a battery.

Night LInda ..... and no I wasn't wearing sun block but I wasn't out in the sun for to long .

I was shocked that is was that hot to be honest , I'd fetched the thermometer from out of the greenhouse ( which was actually cooler because it was in the shade but that time in the afternoon ) ..... I just layed it on the garden table to see how warm it was and hey presto , meltdown ....lol .....it did feel humid though .

Don't we just love this little Island and it's weather.....lol

Diane, My daughter keeps telling me she's going to put me in a home if I get any more cantankerous - firstly, I'm not cantankerous - and secondly, she'd have to catch me first ......lol.
