Good Morning Sue, Hope you are well today.

Sounds like there will be great fun in the grand childrens house today. I can imagine Drew turning to his younger brother with a "Who's birthday is it anyway" I had four younger siblings, so fully understand the situation - you have to laugh.

Hi Allan - you'll meet yourself coming back by the sounds of things:-)) You have a busy time ahead of you but apart from your step-sister's funeral it all sounds good.

The funeral does sound a long time after her passing. I should imagine the family are finding this time very difficult. I know from experience that you feel in limbo between the death of someone and their funeral.

A medieval fayre sounds interesting.

Tec - a lot of the time Drew doesn't even bother answering his brother. Joel chats non-stop and I guess his siblings have learned to ignore him. Drew's a very quiet, serious little boy.

Good night Linda sweet dream's, btw it doesn't take much to confuss men lol. to be honest I can't stand crowded big store's, don't mind if they are nearlly empty. did you find a freezer you liked.

good evening Tec I thought you would see a big change, every time I go to town I see something I hadn't noticed before and I live here.

good morning Sue and Allan

Sue arn't kid's funny, did your grandson make up his mind about the cake in the end, wish him a happy birthday from your friend's on here and I hope he has a nice day.

Hi Allan can't wait to see your pic's when they are ready to send, glad to see you got back safely.

Good Morning Allan,

Glad you made it to Nannup and back in a day, but sounds like you were ready for that Beef Vinderloo on your return.
You have a very busy schedule ahead of you - strange how often things work out like that - nothing for weeks, then everything at once.

Looking forward to the Nannup pics - what happens at the Bunbury Home Show, is it like an agricultural or County Show?

Tec.

Allan Report 22 Aug 2010 23:33

Good evening Tec,

The bunbury Home Show is an exhibition of various DIY and trade type displays; kitchen and bathroom improvements, cookery demonstrations, thay type of thing: plus the obligatory 'must have' items that turn out to be useless once brought home :0))

Allan - The DIY and Home Improvement show could be interesting for ideas, but personally I've gone right off DIY having been doing it non stop for much too long - and we have a cupboard full of those "useless" handy gadgets lol.

Sue - Isn't it strange how you can get a quiet child, and a chatterbox in the same family - I was a quiet one of course.

Diane, Have you still got the giant mechanical spiders in the City?

Tec.

SueMaid Report 22 Aug 2010 23:41

I would agree with you there, Allan. I bought what looked like a nifty little grater which is a saucer with a rough surface. It's ok and I've noticed them used in UK cooking shows but it really doesn't beat my good old grater that I always use.

I did all my potting yesterday so felt very virtuous:-))

I was the quiet one too Tec:-)) Now stop laughing you lot!!

Sue would we think anything else ?

No Tec the spider was only here for the Capital of Culture, and were still paying for the cost of it. We do still have a lot of Lamb Banana's and Penquin's in various place's around the town though.

Sue, amazingly I still prefer, when baking, to use the good old wooden spoon.

To my mind there is nothing creative in just bunging all the ingredients into a mixer. You have to feel the mixture come together.

I know that it's old fashioned, but that is where I obtain my satisfaction.

I also agree with Tec, Sue, regarding your raucous behaviour :o))

The best gadget I've bought recently is a Slow Cooker - brilliant - and will be so useful in the winter for stews, soups, etc.
Cooked a joint of brisket to perfection last week. The Halogen Cooker I bought is ok, but could live without it.
I never did get the hang of the electric tin opener though lol.

Sue if you check under Lamb Banana's in Liverpool you can find a site that show's all of them and the new addition's and all of their name's.

Good night

Berona

Berona Report 23 Aug 2010 07:51

By the time I got here to-day, everyone had gone. Blame it on those tablets I have returned to taking - I slept for twelve hours last night. There is a slight improvement in the soreness of the skin, so I'll stick to it and complete the course of tabs in the hope that it keeps improving.
Makes the day go fast though!

You certainly are getting lots of beauty sleep Berona, you will soon be able to enter the Miss Australia competition lol

Poor Allan, it sounds as if your day out wasn't quite as glamorous as you had hoped for, still meat pie and water sounds OK to me. Hopefully you will enjoy your next outings better. I hope the funeral passes well. Oddly I always enjoy meeting all my relations at funerals, it is a sad state of affairs when that seems to be the only time extended families come together these days.

I too have reverted to my ancient grater Sue, I did buy a state of the art, slice your fingers off one, but much prefer the old one.. Mum had a really old grater she had had since she got married, she used that all of the time as well.It looked really old and battered, but I couldn't bear to throw it away,so I brought it back here, but don't use it.
