Goodevening Tec and Amanda, well done to your Granddaughter on her result's Tec, and well done Amanda to your daughter on her result's. I haven't yet heard from my granddaughter about her result's but will let you know when I do.

Good morning Sue, I hope you have a nice time at your morning tea and agree the best thing to do is just nibble though sometime's I know it is hard to do when there can be so many nice thing's to eat.

I went for a meal this afternoon with employer's mum and another lady who used to clean for her. We had a nice lunch at a local pub and it was nice to relax for a couple of hour's and have a natter.

Allan hope it went well at the funeral.

Thank you Linda - was it a full house tonight?
In the dark ages a man stood controlling the queue outside the cinema. He would announce " Room for two in the circle - and two in the one & nines" That was a very long time ago, so I doubt anyone still alive remembers those days lol.

Amanda my Grandfather was a true countryman, so "knew about things" he would never have starved, and could live off the land if he had too.

Hi Linda - you're a busy lady.

Hi Diane - hope you are well. Sounds like you had a nice time at lunch.

Amanda - I'm thinking of allowing the children to grow sunflowers in pots. I have a packet of dwarf sunflower seeds that should do nicely. I'll remember the liquid feed.

Good evening Linda and Diane .

Thank you for the congratulations and I hope your Granddaughter has got the results she was hoping for Diane .

I hope you Aunt enjoyed her birthday Diane ....93 !! goodness me , she must be a great help when it comes to family tree things .

Tec..... I like the sound of your Grandfather : )) On the subject of living off the land , we came cross to older ladies today gathering fruit off a tree
Bulicies ( not sure of the spelling ) .....they tasted lovely . I do like to see folk gathering from the wilds .

Linda .....what was the film tonight ?

I had to take a phone call, typical when I have just logged in.
I am glad you had a nice meal out Diane.

The film was Twilight, one of those teenage vampire movies. We always sell loads of ice cream to the teenage girls, which is good as we make a lot of profit on them.

I am sure your grandchildren will enjoy growing sunflowers Sue, mine always helped in the garden when they were little ,we always grew veg with them. Growing climbing beans on wigwams always went down well, because they grow quickly and look impressive and they can help to pick them all the time

I've heard of " Twilight " LInda.....my daughters all think it's great but I haven't actually seen it . I'm glad it went well .

Sue ...yes dwarf ones sound lovely , I bet you end up with some in your boarders as well as in the designated pots , I hate it if I get a couple left over , I don't have the heart to do them in and just have to give them a chance in a boarder......lol

I hope your granddaughter does well, Diane - always a tense time.

I must be off and get ready for this morning tea. Thankfully I don't have to give a speech at this one - I'm just a guest.

Hope you all have a good evening and a good day to Berona and Colin. I hope you have a safe journey, Allan.

~~~~~~~to anyone looking in.
Enjoy your Morning Tea Sue - Take care.
Diane is your auntie able to remember things about your relatives? all my elderly relatives had gone when I started my tree - oh how I wish I'd asked lots of questions while I still could.
Amanda, Those things the ladies were taking off the trees, were they like apples, or berries? I've never heard of them, but different regions have different names for things I've found.
Linda, Did your OH make room in the garage for the new freezer?
Tec.
Amanda she would be a great help if she was a family Auntie but she is just a lady I have known since I was 9yrs old and I have called her Aunt ever since. Her and her husband ( now deceased ) were like a second mum and dad to me when I was growing up, I have been closer to her and her husband than other member's of my own family. They had no children so I was like a daughter to them, 16yrs ago I started to go shopping with my aunt to help her and I also did her cleaning for her, after a couple of yrs my uncle went into a nurseing home as my aunt had a heart attack and was unable to care for him ( he'd had a stroke ) it was then that I gave up my council house and moved to a rented house next but one door to her, my uncle remained in a nurseing home till he died, I continued to do thing's for her until her own health made it difficult to live in her house and social services advised after her last fall that she remained in a nurseing home for her own safety. I hate that she is in there but I suppose it is the best place for her,( just wish my dad would see thing's the same way ).
OH has moved the current freezer and has raised a shelf which was over it in preparation for the arrival of the new freezer. I think it has to stand for 24 hours before you can use it, or at least that is what you had to do before. The problem with not putting them in garages is only with freezers made in the last few years with the new type of gas in them
Amanda2003
Amanda2003 Report 24 Aug 2010 23:19
Tec.....the fruit I was speaking of sort of looked like cherries but each hung on a single stem ( not in clusters ) , about the size of a crab apple , there is a stone in each fruit , the fruit was red but not bright red like a cherry . They aren't wild plums or Damsons . ...... I might have to go off and look in a good old fashioned book in a moment ....lol
Diane
Diane Report 24 Aug 2010 23:20
Bye Sue hope you have a nice time and don't forget ( just a nibble ) lol.
Tec I think my last post will answer your question, I know more about her family history than my own lol.
Ahh...bless you Diane .....your Aunt must feel in a great many ways that you are heaven sent to her . It was a great sacrifice on your behalf to give up your council house to be closer to her . You sound vey kind hearted : ))
It is as you say a shame that your Dad can't see things the same way .
Diane
Diane Report 24 Aug 2010 23:26
Hi Linda, glad you found a freezer for your need's, I think you are right about the 24hrs thing but maybe that isn't needed any more, the way you keep doing all those vedgie's and other thing's from your allotment it won't be long before you have it full and you will wonder how you managed with a smaller one.
