Sorry to hear about your step sister Allan. I have not been to Pinaroo but am I right in saying that it is one of the smaller cemeteries that we have in Perth? I hope that it was nice service for your step sister.

Allan that example of road rage is amusing, in fact I find most incidents of road rage are amusing from a spectators point of view, so long as nobody actually gets hurt. Unfortunately, there have been some very nasty cases of road rage where people have been hurt, even killed.

Diane: Congratulations to your grand daughter. I hope she succeeds in getting a job along the lines that she wants. I agree with you about the food waste when only just around the corner there will be some one starving.

Sue - I agree with Tec - what planet is that woman on - and I like Amanda's expression about her backpedalling on her unicycle.

Janet: good to see you and I can give you a reference anytime - you are like a breath of fresh air when you breeze in now and then.

Linda: Well what can say your posts are so good you do them in triplicate LOL - and another holiday - you can manage several holidays whilst I am still getting over the housework.

Amanda: Yes Pineapple Jam was sold in tins here but it would be over 30 years ago since I have seen them. My dad had cape gooseberries growing in his garden and if he could get them before I had eaten them and made a pig of myself he would make jam.

Allan: Welcome home - please stay out of heavy traffic. Don't they have a scenic bypass that takes a bit longer? I often take back roads during peak traffic.

Tec: Well now I have seen everything 190k Pounds - spent on dormice bridges that go over the bypass in Pontypridd - the Welsh really know how to look after the little fellahs.

My OH's ancestry goes back to pre 1066 - me I can get back to 1700's with one well documented family on mother's side and two of my father's lines go back to the 1400s - but with his mother cannot even find her parents birthdate as I don't know where in Scotland and the number of Turnbulls - I am reluctant to fork out forever on my research.

Genealogists Anonymous: Rehab very good - I think my OH would send me off there fairly quickly if he found one. He is rather like the children in the back seat of the car "Are we there yet?" he mistakenly thinks one day I will know it all and that will be the end of it.

Janet, it is just of Whitfords Avenue, very close to the Freeway.

It is a very large area (you can Goggle Pinaroo Memorial Park) and apparently is a favourite spot for picnics and family activities not at all like a normal cemetery. It is very peaceful and although I've only been there twice ( the last time for my ex sister in laws funeral it is nothing like Karrakata Cemetery.

What to do on a flight when you have a really annoying passenger sitting next to you.

1. Remove your laptop from the briefcase;

2. Open the laptop slowly and carefully:

3. Turn it on, as well as the sound;

4. Make sure that the passenger next to you is looking;

5. Access the Internet;

6. Close your eyes for a few moments, open again and look up to heaven:

7. Take a deep breath and open this site:

Http://www.myit-media.de/the_end.html

8. Observe the facial expression of the passenger seating next to you.

Hello Perse,

Yes the Welsh are very kind to the dormice, bridges for them, and sheep, and cows, tunnels under the road for frogs and toads, and hedgehogs.

The people have to take their chances with the traffic lol.

Persey, unfortunately there are no back roads to take. Well there may be but being from the Bush I only know the main roads.

However, to get to this particular cemetery it is quicker to go through Perth. It is only at peak morning and afternoon periods that there is a problem. All other times, althoygh trafic is heavy. at least it is moving.

As the service was at 10.00am we had no choice but to leave here at 7.00 knowing that we would hit traffic. If the service had been an hour later there would have been no problems.

Goodnight Linda - you did have me worried for a second. Not as worried as Diane though:-)) Thanks for the info.

Hi Persey - good to see you as always. Yes, daughter's ex-employer is a strange woman.

Allan - that would've alleviated the boredom of heavy traffic. We were in the UK and travelling along quite happily when OH got a little confused on an enormous roundabout. He cut off an enormous 4 wheel drive and the driver followed us and signalled for us to pull over. I watched in the rear view mirror as OH approached the car and an enormous fellow got out. I was just starting to wonder how I would get his body home when I saw them shake hands and the big fellow got back in his car. OH said he explained that we were visiting and he'd got confused and apologised and the other driver was fine with that.

Some of our arterial routes can be fairly daunting prospects at peak hours as well. An elderly lady was trying to turn right into a petrol station off one of our main roads (she was actually trying to go into the exit and it was not designed for entering) and she was sitting there waiting for a gap in traffic. The person behind her sat on his horn honking and honking at her to move on. (he obviously knew it was an exit only) she was getting flustered and a queue was forming behind her. Three cars back a young man got out walked up to her car stopped the traffic coming in the other direction and waved her into the forecourt. Walked back to his car and I just wish I knew what he said to the honker as he was passing him.

Got here before everyone started to say 'goodnight'!! I haven't read any previous posts as yet, but I made it!

Looks like another sunny day, but with wind and a top of 18C,so if the wind is from the west, the temp will feel lower to us.

Have I missed anything?
