I love fabric.......... just having it hoarded away in a draw is enough for me ....lol............I can't resist buying off cuts of pretty material , just because I like the design . I really ought to be thinking about making something for the new Grandchild that will be arriving in seven weeks !

Diane ..... I enjoy the chatting on here of an evening . It is a pleasent way to round the day off isn't it : ))

Diane the creamy pork and sultana sponge was the meals on Wheels menu, not what I had.

Diane Report 27 Aug 2010 23:15

Yes Amanda it is, do you knit or just make thing's from the material's you have. I made my first granddaughter a christening gown and my daughter then used it for her next 2 daughter's, I used to love makeing and knitting thing's for my grand children and see them wearing them. The only thing I seem to do now is ( as the other's will know ) make bib's for my employer.

Amanda - we'll soon be pacing when the little one decides to make themselves known. It seems not so long ago we were pacing for Eve. I also remember pacing on a thread when your granddaughter was on the way.

I also love fabric and I have some pieces that I enjoy having a look through now and then. I have some lovely pieces of upholstery fabric samples. No idea what to do with them but they're beautiful. I also do scrapbooking and I love paper.

I had a bacon and brie sandwich, with a nice side salad and some hand cut chunky chips. It was much nicer than it sounds

Linda,
Will you please tell us what you had for lunch................

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 27 Aug 2010 23:22

Diane ..... I can knit but only in a basic way ...... I tried to knit a sleeveless top for one of the babies but it was a disaster and I lost hope , it's still in the cupboard , half done ....lol

I made a lovely " simple " blanket out of knitted squares and backed each square with pretty fabric for my youngest Granddaughter , I ought to do one of those for the new baby I suppose .

My Mum was really a fast knitter and used to make lots of baby clothes but I sadly lack her skills .

That sounds very nice - I was convinced you were going to say soup :))

I don't think we should start pacing yet Sue, or our legs will be worn down by the time the baby arrives.

Little Eve is eight weeks old now, she weighs 10lb 6oz as of today

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 27 Aug 2010 23:28

Little Eve sounds like a delight Linda ......she is doing well , bless her : ))

Sue .....the Granddaughter of mine you paced for was pacing about the house today in brown boots that are slightly to big for her , a fancy grey and spangly long skirt and a brightly coloured tee shirt ......she looked most odd in a delightful way and was most pleased when I released her from the boots...........lol
It actually occurred that all three Grandchildren where here at the same time ( as I had the older two for the day ) , Granddad made the day by making pop-corn : ))

You sound like you have had a fun day Amanda

Time for bed now, I had better go and find some bed socks so I don't annoy Diane.
I forgot to say Tec, that I don't keep the hoover and mops in the under stairs cupboard. In fact it is newly painted and has new carpet in it. OH did it up when we took the water storage tank out of it when we had the new boiler put in recently. It is a very desirable cupboard and I am sure you will be happy in there

SueMaid Report 27 Aug 2010 23:36

Grandad makes pop-corn at our house too, Amanda. I tend to have the children make pikelets and sometimes cup-cakes which they decorate themselves.

I'm so pleased Eve is doing well - 10lb 6oz sounds so cuddly:-)) Wait till she's prancing around dressed like Amanda's granddaughter and mine who dances around in fairy wings, tutus and tiaras with Dora the Explorer slippers.

A carpeted under the stairs cupboard - you are posh:-)) Sleep well, Linda.

That sound's lovely Linda, AAHH bless she is gaining weight nicely and I suppose by now is noticeing more of her surrounding's and giveing smile's to people she know's by now.

Amanda I only learnt to follow pattern's after reading a very old knitting book that my dad gave me, it was written by a man of all people. I can now work out my own pattern's, my daughter spotted a cardigan that was in a design of what was called a handkachief ( sp ) and we went to the stall that she had seen it on and I had a look at it while she kept the stall holder occupied, I was then able to work out the design and copy it. I was in the bingo one day knitting it in the interval and ended up getting 3 more order's off people.

Diane Report 27 Aug 2010 23:57

Pity I didn't learn when mine were baby's, I could only crouchet when I had my own, and I learnt that by watching my mum do it for my brother and sister's children, I have to admit the only subject I come top in at school was needle-work, apparently my BM was a fine artist of animal's ( I was adopted ) I was rubbish at art but take after her for haveing the ability to do thing's with my hand's in a different way artistically.

Well Amand sorry to have to leave but I think it is time i went to bed also as it is work as usual tomorrow.
goodnight Amanda sweet dream's

Enjoy your day Allan. Perse, Berona, Janet and Carole if your looking in
