End in sight? How far away is the Horizon? Yesterday he took off part of a sheet of "plaster board" in here and there coming through a hole in one of the cross pieces of wood was a wire and he got a shockfrom it. the darned thing was live going nowhere. It had been tucked in behind the board all these years.
Will turn off all the power today and go up in the ceiling and haul it out.

I wouldn't mind seeing some of that Baileys Diane.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 28 Aug 2010 23:06

I am glad that he was OK Perse. OH was amazed at the way some wires had been run behind the plaster board when the new boiler went in. He almost drilled through them

Persephone

Persephone Report 28 Aug 2010 23:07

Maybe they put Baileys on the pork in the meals on wheels Linda that would make it sort of creamy.

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 28 Aug 2010 23:08

We're all being quite witty and clever this evening, Linda. That's why Tec is so agog - I would've said bamboozled.

Boozled is what Diane will be after she has drunk all that Baileys.

I hope not Perse, some of the old people have enough trouble standing up as it is.

Lots of them were away this time and when we delivered the library books last week. OH thinks that they all must have gone clubbing in Ibiza. That conjures up strange images

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 28 Aug 2010 23:11

Baileys is one of those drinks that fool you into thinking it's harmless. You have a few and then when you stand up the whole world turns upside down. Cherry brandy does that too and egg advocaat. Ask my mum:-))

Cream would be nice for a change Diane, but I don;t take sugar thanks

LindainHerriotCountry Report 28 Aug 2010 23:12

I believe you Sue, it is of course it is your mum who knows about these alcoholic effects, not you...

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 28 Aug 2010 23:12

That live wire was a naughty thing to do Perse. The electrician that re-wired this house found a live wire going nowhere beneath the landing floorboards - some people are crazy.

It's not just the elderly that have trouble standing up... sometimes my foot has other ideas. I was trying to get up off the floor the other day and ended up grabbing the nearest thing which was himself. A heave ho on his trousers and they nearly came down as well.

SueMaid Report 28 Aug 2010 23:16

Oh here we go again with risque comments, Persey:-)))

Linda and Persey - I could tell you a great story of my mum falling down in the driveway after having one too many egg advocaat and lemonades. It was the family joke for years:-))
