Persephone Report 29 Aug 2010 11:30

Thunder and lightning during the early hours of this morning - I thought OH had put the light on at about 4:30am but it was the lightning. This morning it was sunny as and then at lunch time we had a heavy downpour that included a bit of hail.

We had looked at this house the other day it was divided into two flats and was fairly diabolical - would need a great deal spent on it and there may be little capital gain. I guess it depends on what one wants it for. In one flat the front lounge area (I think) had an angled cupboard in the corner - a wardrobe?? no upon opening the door one could walk a couple of paces and end up in the next room via a replica corner cupboard in that room. Looked like it had been student flats - it was turned in at auction so we may never know what it eventually sells for.

OH - just came in and said to me how many Spaniards does it take to change a light bulb?

Answer: Just Juan.

Very funny Perse.

How odd having connecting doors inside cupboards. Though in posh houses doors are sometimes disguised as book shelves etc, though this house doesn't sound as if it is quite in that league

Good Evening Linda,
Good Morning Sue,

Why would I have red cheeks?

Hope you had a good day, or a good night.

You seem to have done quite well at the market yesterday Sue.

Tec.

SueMaid Report 29 Aug 2010 22:03

Sorry Linda - still caught up researching the ancestors. Poor Tec just couldn't keep up with us. That'll teach him to make cheeky comments:-))

Oops - speak of the devil:-)) Yes I did quite well. The cut glass vase is very nice and I only paid $3.50 for it.

I have been up my tree all evening as well Sue.Just filling in side branches, the trouble is you could keep on going for ever.

Good evening Tec

Linda - I've had a few discussions with people over the years about how far you can go with your tree. Do you research the parents and siblings of people who marry into your family?

Tecwyn Report 29 Aug 2010 22:19

I've been putting my papers in some sort of order today - discovered some notes I had overlooked and not entered on my tree - as you say Linda, you can go on for ever.
I seem to get more work done on my tree in the winter with the long evenings.

Tec.

I do, i actually have a large tree, but I am mainly concentrating on the central lines again. I have all the bmd certificates for the majority of the central lines. I dread to think how much that has cost lol. The side lines are just from the censuses,so there could be mistakes, but if I share any of those, I make it clear

Good evening Tec and Linda

good morning Sue

Sue you seem to have had a good time at the market and came back loaded again.

Hi Tec how are you today, did you have the high wind's like we did in my neck of the wood's.

Linda it seem's you also had the high wind's, it was very sunny here but the gust of wind's were unbelievable for this time of the year,

Berona, if you look in later, I still have half a bottle of the Bailey's hun and you are welcome to have as much as you like, though I'm not sure I'd like it in milk I prefer it on ice.

The odd thing is that it is the youngest entries which need more work on them. I have photos to add and lots of stuff to type in. i have my fathers full service records for instance and need to ad them.

Hello Diane, it has been terrible weather here today. We ventured down to the allotment to make sure that everything was OK. Some of the bean pyramids looked distinctly wonky, but they were still standing. Everything else was fine

SueMaid Report 29 Aug 2010 22:28

Hello Diane - hope you are well.

Tec - I also found some interesting notes the other day that I thought had no relevance at the time but I kept them just in case.

I have just over 2,500 in my tree. Not a lot by some standards but I'm pleased with where my research has taken me. I have certificates for most of my direct lines as well as OH's. My brother shares the cost for our family tree so that makes me feel less guilty. I've also been lucky to find 2 books that mention ancestors.

Hi Linda, if it hadn't been so windy here it would have been a perfect day, once the few shower's had gone this morning and the cloud's had cleared it was brilliant sunshine for the rest of the afternoon. Glad there wasn't to much damage on your allotment.

You lot put me to shame were my tree is concerned as I can't seem to find the time to do research for mine, what with work, housework and chatting on here I haven't any time left to do any research :(
I'm hopeing to go and see my older sister in a few week's and see if I can get a few connection's off her as I know she is further on with her tree and has a lot of information about my dad's side of the family.

Tec I'm fine thank's, and no after affect's from last night as I only had the 1 Bailey's with haveing to work today, don't think employer's mum would have been to please if I had turned up with a hangover.

it seems like winter, it is so cold tonight. i have actually closed the curtains and put all the lamps on. i don't bother in summer because no one can see in even if it is dark and we have lights on. I haven't got any heating on though

When you retire, you will have time for your tree Diane
