lol, I doubt it Tec, given the record he had, he was a bit of a bad lad. He would stay out there and maybe would have gone over to the mainland on his release because there was a bad drought at the time and even the free settlers were leaving in droves. i have had some help from someone in Tasmania who specialises in helping trace convicts, but he had no luck. I think lots of the census type records didn't survive

I don't think that planning was a consideration in the beginning Sue. i am sure that you will enjoy the programme when it is aired

Good Evening Amanda,

Poor dog - When we had our two black labs they were eighteen months old and both terrified of loud bangs. Were there such a bang they would both land on me. He would land on my lap, and she would ram her head behind me. OH had a pressure cooker at the time and that had the same effect. The old boy has become more accustomed to loud noises now and ignores them.

Does the dog ignore the noise as well Tec?

Good morning Sue

Good evening Amanda, it is alway's nice to walk around the Wild flower centre and see what we sometime's call weeds in their natural surrounding's.

Hi Tec, you would enjoy the centre and all the different wild flower's, you can bye pack's of seed's to plant in your garden. the park is kept nice and as you walk through it there are area's that are just allowed to grow naturally and amazes me how pretty some of the ( weed's as we see them ) look.

Hi Linda autumn does seem to be in the air a lot earlier this year as you can feel the damp in the air at night.

Hello Tec .

Perhaps the " old boy " has become accustomed to loud noises because his hearing is going a bit ? Two of my three are bothered by loud bangs ( MIlo and Bandit ) but the third one seems unaffected . Fireworks " week " is not a happy time in this household , poor Milo ends up as a nervous wreck by the time it's finally over .
Did your OHs pressure cooker make a strange noise then ?

The wild flower meadow does sound nice Diane. A weed is just a flower in the wrong place

Yes Linda - you cheeky madam - the dog does ignore the loud noises too.

This old boy is bomb proof since being blown up on the loo - you would be too :))

Diane, They're all flowers really, just misplaced. Some are quite attractive aren't they?

Amanda,

The dog is a bit deaf now - I'm not.

The pressure cooker made an horrendous noise when the steam/pressure was released. I wasn't too keen on being around it myself to be honest - we don't use it now.

When my 2 dog's were still around 1 ( the german shepherd ) hated bon-fire night the other ( cross between Labradour and Alsation ) was not bothered at all by them. The german shepherd would cuddle up to the other dog for comfort ( aahh bless ) he hated all loud noises.

Last night I found out that my Auntie is in hospital with a chest infection (the one I was talking about last week who was 93 last monday ) I'm a bit annoyed with her Nephew in Law as he didn't even bother to tell me, my son was told by a friend who is a staff member at the home she is in, if it wasn't for her I still wouldn't know.

Tec.....my Mum had a pressure cooker when I was a kiddie but I never ever saw her use it with the pressure bit attached as it scared the living daylights out of her ....lol

Diane I hope the poor lady feels much better before long - hospital is the best place for her to be in.

The wildflower park sounds lovely.

Yes I know that what we refer to as weed's are just flower's growing in the wrong place. I love to see buttercup's growing wild as they look very different than the one's on our lawn's, their stem's are a lot longer and more than one flower on each stem.

Hello Diane ..... I hope your Aunt is feeling better . Will you be going to visit her soon ? It's a bit sad that nobody let you know .

The Buttercups that appear in your lawn are probably " creeping Buttercups " I get them too , they are similar but not the same as field Buttercups .

Diane I hope your auntie will be ok, maybe they've taken her in as a precaution in view of her age.
Strange how different dogs react to things, just like us I suppose.

Amanda I think pressure cookers are evil things.

Tonight I was contacted by someone on GR who is related to one line of OHs ancestry. I'm very pleased about this as I have very little info on them. She sounds most helpful too.

Thank you Linda and Amanda, I don't know why they never rang me and let me know Amanda but when I was the person who was first informed I alway's rang round family member's to let them know.
