Tec....I hope your new contact is useful . It isn't very often these days that anyone contacts me about anything on my tree .

Diane ....it is very inconsiderate of your Aunts family to not have contacted you , there is just no understanding some people .

Diane

Diane Report 30 Aug 2010 23:27

Thank you Tec, she did seem a little slow and slightly breathless on the monday when i saw her but I didn't feel concerned as she didn't say she was feeling unwell, but as the hospital said it can be a sudden thing, she was admitted to hospital 2 day's after my visit. I rang the nurseing home after the hospital and asked them to put a note in her file that if she is ill again or there is any reason for concern to ring me and let me know, at least that way I will know if the family don't bother to inform me.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 30 Aug 2010 23:36

That was a good idea Diane, hopefully they will keep you informed. The problem is that hospitals etc are only supposed to talk to the next of kin, irrespective of the family circumstances.

It is late so I had better get to bed, goodnight everyone

Diane - Hope all goes well for your Aunt, she is in the best place right now.
Strange how people don't inform those that need to know.

Some young lads around 12 and 13 were taken into custody - they can't charge them as they are too young - here they were in the park kicking a chocolate coloured labrador puppy around - the puppy belonged to one of the boys - one was holding the dog whilst others were punching it and kicking it and then they threw it up in the air through a basket ball hoop. The SPCA were surprised that no bones were broken - he is a resilient little fellow and whilst it was painful for him to walk at first he is now running around their compound.

GRRRRRRRRRR mongrels (not the dogs).

Yes Amanda I agree and I have chosen not to ring and ask why as I am to angry and might say the wrong thing. I have rang another member and left her a message telling her about Auntie, she is from my Auntie's side of family and we are quite close and if she had known I know she would have rang me. The nephew in law is from my uncle's side of family, it seem's he hasn't rang and told anyone else as a friend of my auntie went into visit her at the home today and she too wasn't at all pleased that she hadn't been told either. He is the person I mentioned to you in my pm Amanda who my aunt was not happy with.

Tec you must be pleased to have been contacted by this person, I hope they are able to give you a lot of info.

I've had a few useful contacts through GR over the years, but find people don't often respond when I initiate a contact.

Well I must be off to bed,
Enjoy your day Sue,
Sleep well Linda, Diane, Amanda - keep warm, cold tonight.

Goodnight,
Tec.

Goodnight Linda, Amanda and Tec.

Hello Miss Persey - hope you are well. I can't believe those boys could be so cruel to any animal let alone one that belongs to one of them. They are more than old enough to know better. I'd be watching those boys as they grow up.

I would've been on here earlier but there is a sunny day out there so have been out the back hanging out the washing. There is an ominous black cloud to the northwest and I am hoping it will keep heading that way.

Exactly Sue - they are being taken in hand - usually anyone that harms animals at that age is trouble later on.

A few next door neighbours ago their son was very cruel to their kitten - it used to come over to our place to hide. We would try and make sure he was outside each night - we called him Moss after Stirling Moss as he would zap under our house to get away from him. One morning OH got up opened kitchen cupboard to get his weetbix and Moss came out he had hidden in there for the night. That lad is into burglary (as was his father) and drugs etc and his younger brother followed in his footsteps into crime. All the older one wanted to do was go on the dole and do drugs.

Good night Amanda and Linda pleasant dream's

Hi Perse thank you and yes your right especially as I used to alway's ring him when I was the person who was contacted first when I was down as her next of kin. I would still be in the dark if it wern't for my son's friend.
Perse that is awful what those boy's did, I don't understand why so many youngster's today have become so cruel to animal's and fello human being's it's as if they how no value for life and no respect for life, do they not understand the feeling of pain if not then they should feel pain themselves and know what it is like to be punched, kicked and thrown up in the air. No I'm not saying do to them what they did to the pup but maybe the old fashioned way,( over the knee and a good old spanking ) that would let them know what pain felt like. Sorry if this affend's anyone but I believe it doesn't do any harm.

Persey - years ago we had a neighbour whose teenage son started ringing some of the women in the neighbourhood and making rather nasty comments. We all knew it was him and even called him by name. Eventually his parents were confronted and they ignored us and moved house. We heard much later that he had done that before and went on to be a real concern to his parents. He would be in his early 30's now and I wonder if he has gone on to a life of crime.

Well Diane - I guess we just can't do that anymore although it would certainly stop some would-be criminals in their tracks. My OH was given a right telling off by a policeman when he was about 13 for breaking a window. He was taken by the arm and marched home to his parents where he was in even bigger trouble. I doubt he would've been able to sit down for awhile:-))

I seem to be the one to contact for all members of my father's family... If someone dies the wife/husband/daughter/son of the deceased will ring me and then I rally around and tell all those that should know and tell some to pass it on. The same when someone is in hospital - I get to ring around. One cousin's wife knows when it is me on the phone someone has either died or gone to hospital.

Nearly all rely on me to do the genealogy as well !!! ha ha.

This kid - when he was around 12 thought he would go around lighting fires in people's letter boxes in our street. That really worried us that he might be into arson. I had watched him grow up from a baby (when we moved here) to a teenager when the family split up and moved.

I am so glad that my two girls turned out so so well and the grandchildren are heading off in the right direction.
I suppose I could blame lack of education - the mother couldn't read or write well but then there are those that are well educated and end up in defrauding people of millions.
