Berona Report 31 Aug 2010 00:27

I have been here for about half an hour, but have just finished reading to-day's posts.

Children who are cruel to animals very often have parents who don't like animals and they don't bother to teach the child how to be kind to them. I would like to do to the child, exactly what they did to the animal, but that isn't allowed.

The trrouble with reading posts of the day Berona so many are added whilst you are reading and it goes on forever and ever.

We finished at our rental cleaning last night and the last thing OH did was crawl under the house to secure the sky TV wire so it came up through the lounge floor - the previous occupants had the wire coming through the window. He came out all cobwebbed looking like he had a hair net on. I did remark about it and would not let him back into the house. It was fairly late so we stopped at Subway to pick up a meal and this chap said to me is that cobwebs in his hair. I told him the story etc He was very amused and commented on the price to pay being landlords. It was not till he looked in the mirror at home did he realise how funny he looked.
"Why didn't you tell me it was this bad?" ------ I did -----
His overalls are now hanging on the line and can stay out there until the wind and rain gets most of the dust and cob webs out before they go near my machine.

That's what happens to me Perse. I take a quick look at the current page and everyone is 'talking', then I go back to where I left off yesterday, to read from there and in the meantime, all the 'talkers' are saying goodnight and going to bed!

The Idea of your OH with cobwebs all over him, made me laugh. He would have looked 'spooky'.

Oops, does that make me a "talker" Berona

Greetings from Agogs Cave,

As dusk gathers over the village, and the sun sinks into the sea, am I listening to the evensong of the birds? or the gentle lap of waves on a receeding tide?

Noooooooo.
Late this afternoon a mains water pipe burst in the road outside, so we had a gusher, and a river of water running down the road. This evening a gang of men arrived to fix it. So now the water has been cut off, and I'm now enjoying the dulcet tones of a pneumatic drill outside. Setting my teeth on edge and bouncing my brains.
It will be too dark to work shortly, so I expect they will set up arc lights and a generator............what fun.

The person that contacted re my tree last night has given me access to her tree on Tribal Pages. I'm quite impressed with the format and setup. Does anyone here belong to them, and have you any comments. How much does it cost etc?

Tec.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 31 Aug 2010 20:59

Tribal pages is free Tec, you just upload your gedcom. I put my tree on there once for safe keeping, but it jumbled all the events up, so I didn't pursue it You can keep it totally private or have it fully open

I hope that you you filled up lots of jugs of water before it went off

Good Evening Linda,

That's interesting about Tribal pages, I'll think about it - thank you.

Yes I did fill the kettle and other things, but haven't washed up after dinner, so that can wait. They are still out there working under arc lights. Poor guys down a hole in the mud in the dark - what a job.

Took OHs leg to the dressings clinic this afternoon, she came too.
Been an absolutely glorious day here.

Hello good folk:-))

Tec I'm so glad your Duchess continues to accompany her leg to the clinic. We wouldn't want her to fall over while attempting to hop around the house:-))

Good morning Sue.

It has been glorious here as well Tec, but it is cold now

Good Morning Sue,

I just had to go out to wave at the lads on the International Space Station as the passed over, they always wave back - they'll be flying over you in a minute Sue, but as it's daylight you won't see them.
I wonder what they do to pass the time? maybe they've got a set of dominoes.

I just drag OHs leg into the car, and she follows, protesting loudly.

I can just imagine you dragging the Duchess out Tec, equally I can imagine exactly what she said to you lol

SueMaid Report 31 Aug 2010 21:49

I've just been out looking at a glorious red sky. Red sky in the morning sailor's warning? It only lasted a little while but it looked wonderful. I didn't see the ISS:-(

I would also protest if my leg was dragged to the car. Whatever would the neighbours think.

I think that it is the dog, not Tec who wanted to go outside Sue

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 31 Aug 2010 21:57

Who cares what the neighbours think?

They view me with alarm and usually run indoors anyway.

Linda the dog did come with me, he is also accustomed to my eccentricities, and follows me everywhere, but stays behind me as he is afraid of the dark.

The Duchess no longer comments.............

LindainHerriotCountry Report 31 Aug 2010 22:00

I can't remember who suggested it Tec, but the light on the elastic headband for the dog did seem like an excellent suggestion to me

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 31 Aug 2010 22:03

I could get the dog a miners headlamp - he's such a nelly sometimes, but I think he doesn't see too well now.

Persephone Report 31 Aug 2010 22:06

Tec: I have a copy of my tree on tribal pages and have access to a couple of others... I like it, haven't had any events jumble up on it with me so far. Minor irritation is each time you open it, you are faced with an advertisement for upgrading at a special discounted rate. As a free tree it is very good and easy to download a gedcom from genes or elsewhere on to it - you end up with your own web address.

good eveningTec and Linda

good morning Sue

Tec sorry your perfect sunny day has ended with a disaster, it has also been a perfect sunny day here.

Hi Linda has it been sunny for you too or are you still haveing the wind gust.

Hi Sue how has your day started, cold but sunny or is it raining.

Well I went to see my aunt today and when I looked iinto her room she was asleep, she looked very grey and to be honest she looked so bad I was shocked. I told a nurse and asked if I could speak to who-ever was looking after her. As I was talking to another member of staff her nurse and the Dr went in to see her and her nurse came out and said she would speak to me after the Dr had seen her. While I was waiting the nephew I told you about arrived and when I asked him why he hadn't informed me he said my aunt had asked him not to tell me. We had a little talk about it and then the Dr said we could go in and she then told us what was wrong with my aunt. Yes she has a chest infection but she also has ( in the Dr's word's ) a very bad BUG infection, this bug is E coli E.S.B.L which stand's for Extended-Spectrum Beta Lactamase, and is a bug that is even harder to treat than MRSA as it cannot be treated by normal anti-biotic's. It is most common in the Urinary Tract and if not successfully treated it can develop into Septicemia.
The plus side to all this is she has improved slightly since she was first admitted and the nephew told me that if I had seen her 3day's ago I would have been more shocked than I was today.
One thing good about the visit was myself and the nephew had a long talk after the visit and we sorted thing's out and agreed to keep each other informed about thing's whether or not our aunt said any difference. We think that for what-ever reason she seem's to be complaining about different member's of the family to the other member's, e.g when I go in she complain's to me about him and when he goes in she complain's to him about me and when other relative's have gone in she has complained to them also about me or him. We think she does this because of her age or just to get sympathy, or at worse to cause trouble between us all, I would rather it was down to her age.
Sorry to waffle on but just wanted to put you in the picture and I promise that is the end of this saga.

Hi to anyone else who has arrived since I started my post which has took me at least 30min's to type.
