And I am clever too

Goodness only knows how my message posted before and after Linda.
Maybe it is me keeping a tight rein on her and fencing her in.

Morning/evening Diane - will go back and read what you wrote whilst I was typing.

I am sorry that your aunt is so ill Diane, but glad that you have sorted things out with her nephew.

My mum had an e coli infection when she was in hospital. She had a form of septicaemic, they weren't sure if the main problem was caused by the e coli or an infection caused by the gall stones blocking her bile duct. Whatever it was, they couldn't treat it.

You are indeed very clever Perse to make a sandwich out of me, hmm makes me feel hungry,so I will just go and make coffee and see what else I can find.

Persephone Report 31 Aug 2010 22:17

I too am glad that things are sorted out between you and her nephew Diane and let's hope she is on the mend and you will be able to spend more time with her. Maybe the two of you should go and see her together when she is feeling a bit better that way she can't play one against the other.

Hello Tec and Linda .... you make perfect sence to me ( and I was the one who suggested the head light for the dog a few weeks ago ...lol )

Morning Sue and Persey .... I hope you have a bright Spring morning in your parts of the World .

Hello Diane ..... well , I'm glad you have had the chanse of a good long chat with " the nephew " , at least you can both see that for whatever reason , your Aunt has been playing you off against each other..... as you both have her best interests at heat , I think you've come up with the right decision to keep each other informed .
I don't like the sound of the bug your Aunt has , I do hope that she is able to get over it quickly .

Do saner members usually post twice?

Good Evening Perse - I am considering Tribal pages, it takes me a week to consider anything these days - even what I want in a sandwich lol.

Hello Diane - I am sorry your aunt is so unwell. I think that business of playing one relative off against another is quite common in elderly people.
My mother was a little naughty in that respect as she got older, but we all knew, and disregarded it.

I am perfectly sane - it's the others!

Tec.

Morning Perse you seem to be in a bit of a tiss lol. hey you are not the only sane one around here though I don't know how long I will remain sane after today.

Tec glad to hear you took the rest of the Duchess with her leg, you would have got some funny look's if you had turned up with only her leg.

Linda you do encourage the worse side of our Tec :)

Hello Diane and Persey. It's cold and a little overcast here Diane but it's supposed to warm up to over 20 degs. today so the sun may burn off what little cloud there is.

I'm sorry to hear your aunt is so ill - hopefully she will continue to improve. Yes it's very common for elderly people to play one off against the other. My FIL was dreadful for doing that. I well remember my OH and his brother finally discussing the problem of my FIL telling each one that the other never visited. Once sorted we all knew to ignore it all. My mum is starting to do it also but we're well aware of it and it hasn't caused any real problem.

Who is sane on this thread or not is a matter of opinion:-))

Believe me Diane, Tec doesn't need any encouragement.

Hello Amanda. I went to the allotment today and brought back more tomatoes. i made another large pan of tomato chutney. I made some last week and the small amount which was left over tasted very nice even though it hadn't matured in the jars

Persephone

Persephone Report 31 Aug 2010 22:27

I am having crumpets (with vegemite) Linda and I have made a plunger of coffee.

Hi there Amanda

Tec - the only thing with Tribal is that it only prints three generation reports - sometimes (often) I want to send more than that to relatives so I transfer reports onto a word document and then play around with them till it reads like an 8 or 9 generation etc report.

I only pressed submit once - it took ages and I have no idea how that happened - obviously genes site cleverevereverner than me.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 31 Aug 2010 22:31

I like crumpets Perse, but I don't think I fancy them with vegemite. The fridge is bare as I am running it down before we go away,so I have resorted to toast and Jam

Hello Linda ....... I've grown two tomato plants in the greenhouse this year . Oddly enough , none of us actually eat them ....lol......but my Granddaughter loves them and so does my sons girlfriend , so I've just been handing them over as they ripen .
When we went to the allotment yesterday our neighbour turned up to feed her bees ( apparently they can starve to death in the late summer and have to have a sugar supplement liquid left in the hive for them ) , it was interesting to watch ( from a distance ) .

My opinion is that I am sane on most days of the week - today might not be one of them.

(%) see there is me looking sane.

Thank you to all of you for your good wishes for my auntie, I hope now that they know what they are dealing with that the special anti-biotic's they are giveing her will stop this bug and that she will continue to improve.

Perse I usually visit her in the evening but because the nephew live's 30miles away he usually goes in the afternoon. He is not as young as me, he is in his 70's and not in the best of health himself so he is visiting one day and his son visit's the next. I think now we both realise it is something we just have to ignore and except this is just the way she is. As I said to him when the time come's when she is not around ( I hope that doesn't happen for a long time ) we don't want to be in the situation were we are not speaking to each other.

Hi Amanda - sorry I didn't see you there:-))

I love crumpets with honey - but they're sooo messy.

I agree Linda - Tec needs no encouragement but having said that it's like watching a comedy act on telly:-)) I mean that in the nicest way......of course.
