Totally agree Linda, that is the trouble with a lot of imported thing's they don't taste of much and they don't smell of anything, hate buying flower's as none of them have a smell especially roses. Why have flower's if they haven't got a smell. You can often see me smell home grown roses as I pass them, if anyone saw me they would think me daft, but what do I care, just love to smell roses.

I should have done Linda, but I didn't think we would be off overnight. The man came to the door to say they were turning the water off, but not for long...........oh well. Obviously there's a big problem.

We really do take water on tap for granted.

That isn't very sanitary leaving you without water Tec.

I can't get by without my morning hot shower. Gee to think my grandfather used to bath once a week on Sundays. If he missed a Sunday it would wait till the following week or should that be reek.

The problem with the supermarkets is that we have become used to having the fruit and veg all year round whether it is in season or not. It is a shame because it used to make things more special when you had to wait for them to arrive.
On the other hand I find it very odd to go into a French supermarket for instance and find a very limited range because they don't import things

Diane you are right about shop flowers having no scent, even carnations have no smell - most of our cut flowers are flown infrom Africa now, where they are grown in very artificial conditions.
The rose I grow smell fantastic, one smells like Camay toilet soap if you remember that lol.

Amanda, It's called forward planning - a week next Tuesday I'm having egg and cress :))

Good night Diane and Amanda - sweet dreams.

I hope the water is sorted soon Tec. We had the water turned off for about 3 hours awhile back and although I filled the kettle and a bucket of water it was surprising how often you still go to the tap.

I never thought of not having a good range of fruit and veg Persey. I do like to buy what's in season if we're not growing it. We get very expensive berries here in summer which is annoying although strawberries are usually cheap. One thing I love about being in the UK in summer is buying punnets of raspberries which are delicious. They are always too expensive here.

Goodnight Diane, and Amanda,
sleep well - keep warm.
Tec.

Perse, The men didn't turn up 'till it was going dark, and I suspect the water system is antiquated in this village, probably a 100 years old.

Linda, I am surprised that the French don't import fruit and veg, it was better when things were seasonal in many ways.

Maybe it is better in NSW Sue - I found it lacking in Tassie and Victoria though the markets in Adelaide were excellent I will admit as were there strawberries. On the other hand Tassie excells itself in shellfish as you know.

Goodnight Linda and Tec - sleep tight.

Persey - I've noticed that the fruit and veg in Tassie aren't great but yes the seafood is cheap and wonderful. Enjoy your day.

Once again I've been left on my own so I'll be off and start my day.

I am killing time waiting for a carpet fitter to turn up.
We had to empty the bedroom of all the furniture,so I hope he does come or we will be sleeping on the floor.

I spent the rest of the morning giving the bedroom furniture a good clean with beeswax polish instead of the usual spray. OH then decides that we ought to buy some new stuff - he could have said that before i spent all that time cleaning it.
