Are you sure you know what you're getting into to? Do be careful.

Well enough of this banter, I must away to bed.
Enjoy your day Sue and Perse, and Berona later,

Sleep well Amanda, hope you get a good night with little one,

Goodnight,

I might catch up with you later on Berona when you pop in.
Same goes for you Carole when you swim past.

Nightie night Amanda

Last again, which is becoming the usual. Read through the posts - and missed Allan? Has he gone away?
We are very proud of you, Sue. Getting your photo in hung in the university is something!
Of course you won't stop talking to us. You didn't last time, when you were interviewed on the radio. But, now a second time???? I do hope you will recognise us - even if it's just a little wave now again........please! For old times' sake.

Hi Everyone,
It's Tuesday morning here.
Berona, I was wondering where Allan was as well.
Sue, i hope your canapes are ok. The last time I had them i could have been eating anything! i didn't have a clue what it was. I prefer chicken legs, volu vents and pasties!

Berona Report 7 Sep 2010 12:03

I'm back again, and again, nobody to talk to.
I found a post by Allan on another thread and he said he and his OH were going to Margaret River for a few days, so I don't think we need to worry about him.
Sixteen days after we voted, we have finally been told that we have a Labor government again. So, we will now see what our first female Prime Minister can do, although I don't think the person at the top makes all the decisions - it's their party which runs the country, so I don't expect to see much in the way of changes. I wish her luck - I wouldn't have the job, even if I was qualified.

Hello all

Thanks to those who have missed me.

I have decided to take a holiday from this thread for reasons I will not go into.

I will just say that, as in all families, there are sometimes minor spats and disagreements. Sue (mother) :0)) has been in touch via pm and is aware of my reasons

I wish you all the very best and will still look in from time to time, as well as continuing to post on other threads.

My best wishes go to you all and to your respective families.

Regards

Allan

Morning,

The fencing chaps were here just after 7:30am and are now out there pulling down the ivy and old fence and some netting. They tried pulling out the netting with the truck - but when that didn't work they notched up their strength and Sione sharpened up his machete and his hacking his way through.

I guess when they may the movie about Aussie elections - Tilda Swinton will play Julia Gillard.... what a lookalike.

More tremors and quakes one just on 6 points this morning.

Hello everyone - hope you are all well.

Persey - how much more can that area take. Those poor people. I was watching footage of a shelter where people are staying. The news item showed a group of 10 - 12 y.o.'s rugged up in bed and they were all grinning. Such an adventure for them I should think. The littlies will be unsettled and the teenagers will be aware of what is happening.

Pat and Persey - I watched the movie Girl with the Dragon Tattoo on dvd last night. It has subtitles as the movie was made in Sweden but it was great. It stuck very closely to the book although it missed out some small details that weren't really important to the whole story. It was well done so if you don't mind "reading" the movie look out for it.

We have had the first two movies reviewed here Sue and I will probably watch them. The Americans are also going to make movies on Salander which I believe I will wholeheartedly ignore.

A lot of the historical buildings may not be saved which is sad. They are saying there should be no more after shocks like that one this morning.

We had pics last night of Wangaratta under flood - but it was very brief as the Pahiatua floods here took precedence. Northland will be getting the rain today (they were bone dry last summer and people were being asked to save the kiwis that were coming out of the bush in search of food). Now if I was in charge - I would put the right weather when and where it is required,,,, women are much better organisers.

Hi Perse - Mother Nature is not being very nice at the moment. Letting us know she's in charge.

My son said that the Americans will remake the movie in English but I said I won't watch it. It was just as interesting looking at the buildings and scenery of Sweden. The movie has a few graphic scenes but that was all part of the story but I think an American remake would go over the top.

Good morning Sue, how are you today ( your ladyship )

mother nature is rearing her nasty side at the moment and showing us she is in control.

Perse hope your fencing is comeing on and the chap's are doing a good job. I hope thing's improve with the tremor's and there are no more and no further damage done, it must be awfull for the family's who have been affected. The children won't realise how it has affected them until they are aware that all the thing's like clothes and toy's are not there anymore, as you said it is an adventure for them at the moment and they don't really understand. My heart goes out to these people and what they still have to face when it is safe again to try and get back to normal.

Hello Persey and Sue ......I'm pleased to hear that work has started on your fence Persey : )

Evening Diane ....... I hope you've had a good day whatever you have been doing .

I ended up last night with very little sleep and it wasn't due to the baby in the end .
My eldest daughter phoned at 2am , she was very distressed , I think she is getting " panic attacks " ( keeps thinking her tongue is swelling , throat closing sort of feeling ) . I tried to talk her down for awhile but ended up saying I'd go round and stay with her .......so there was me at 2.20am walking up the road in the pouring rain ( OH couldn't give me a lift as he had to stay in with the baby ) .
Daughter finally went to sleep at about 4am . She went to the Drs today and he gave her a leaflett !!! ...... I'm very worried about her , so might not be on here long tonight .

Persephone

Persephone Report 7 Sep 2010 23:02

A leaflet - oh for goodness sake - she should've got a referal to phobic specialist - she may just need something to calm the panic attacks. What use is a leaflet - you have to alleviate the symptoms and then find out the cause.

Dr Perse (who probably doesn't really know what she is talking about but would certainly want some answers)

Amanda2003 Report 7 Sep 2010 23:06

Hello Persey ..... I wasn't impressed by it either .....maybe they have a system that they have to adhere to but it's not the first time she has been about it , it wasn't her usual Dr this time ( and I have heard from other folk that he isn't too sympathetic ) ....hopefully she will get another appointment asap .

Edit to say .....I'm off to bed now as I'm feeling as flat as a pancake tonight .......catch you all tomorrow hopefully .

Diane Report 7 Sep 2010 23:11

Good evening Amanda, what a worry for you hun, I hope your daughter is feeling better today, do you still have the baby or has your ( I'm right in thinking this is your other daughter ) daughter picked her up. It can be very worrying when you have a panic attack and I can well understand how she must have felt early hour's in the morning when this happened. Try not to worry hun and take care, pm me if you want to chat.
I'm had the usual kind of day today, up for work at 5-40am started work at 7am and there till 1pm then home to do chore's ( house-work ) then had a sleep for about 3hrs ( lazy bitch that I am ) then got up to a do a few more chore's and then sat down and came on here, basicly just the usual every day thing's ( boreing or what ) lol.

Do you believe it? I'm actually here and it isn't midnight yet! Looks like another sunny day coming up - clear blue skies - but quite nippy outside yet.

Diane - I have my eye on you. I can see what time it is in UK and if you are working tomorrow, you'd better be thinking of getting your sleep.

Is Tec with us to-day? Hope all is well with him and everybody else.
