Good Evening Amanda,

I could do with a junk shifting day - trouble is its over 20 miles to the dump. The Council will collect large items once a year. You can send four things, and they charge £15. I recently sent a large 3 seater sofa, and two televisions.
Where is the poor dog going to relax now? Our dog had a slight accident this morning, he charged down the stairs, much too fast, missed a step and leapt down the bottom three, landing heavily, and hurting his front paw. He limped about for several hours looking sorry for himself. I watched him carefully in case a visit to the vet was needed, but he seems to be ok now, and is hardly limping - silly dog.

Hi Tec - what a coincidence. My dog jumped of the sofa and put her knee out - not for the first time. It usually fixes itself but she continued to limp and yelped whenever I touched her. Off to the vet's where he prescribed an anti inflammatory. He couldn't massage it back into place because it was obviously sore.

Good Morning Sue,

Hope you are well today, and the weather kind. Been a nice day here, just one slight shower. Going dark at 8 o' clock this evening.

Tec ..... I'm glad your dog seems to be ok now , it's usually best to give them awhile to recover before going straight to the vets , usually it sorts itself out .
Luckily for us the tip is only three or so miles away and we have an estate car ( very tatty ....lol ) , it's amazing how much stuff we can cram into the back if needs be .
The " poor " dog that liked to sunbathe on the chair will probably get his clever daughter to open our bedroom door for him and will be found in our bed !!

Sue .....I hope your dogs leg is better soon , obviously if there is yelping pain involved then it's the vets as soon as possible : ( Has he / she always had a weakness in the knee or was it from an injury in the past ?

Evening!
I've just been watching Midsomer Murders.
Sue, I hope your dog is better soon.
What sort of a dog have you got Tec?
Amanda- a craft room sounds impressive. Me and making things don't go together at all.

Evening Pat ...... I suppose it does sound impressive ......but it isn't much good unless I actually get in there and get stuck in .....lol

Amanda - it's a problem she has had since she was young (she's 13 now). Her knee pops out and can be massaged back in again. The vet showed us how years ago. It's a common problem with maltese terriers. This time it didn't go back. She wasn't walking on it and was obviously in pain. It seems a little better this morning so hopefully it will be fine. The vet seemed very reluctant to consider surgery and to be honest we're relieved because it's a very expensive operation.

Tec - I am well thank you. It is a little overcast but I think the sun will burn up the cloud. Yesterday was glorious and we went to the local hardware place - it's like your B&Q. They had some beautiful plants ready for spring and OH bought some healthy looking tomato plants. We also bought pumpkin and cucumber seeds. We're going to try some "heritage" tomatoes this summer. I also noticed my lillies are really sprouting up in their pots so I'm looking forward to a lovely spring display.

I have to tell you Tec that our Amanda is a wonderful photographer. I've been looking on Facebook at some incredible photos this lady has taken.

Hi Pat - you crept in while I was typing. Hope you're well. The Stieg Larsson book made a great movie. I liked looking at the Swedish landscape. Very stark but very beautiful. I wouldn't be interested in an American version.

Good Evening Pat - Hope you are well today.
My dog is a black labrador - he is 13 now, a little overweight, but not too much, and showing his age - stiff joints etc, and my constant companion.

Sue I hope the anti-inflammatory works for your dog very soon.

Amanda sounds like your dog has a very clever daughter lol.

Tec - your dog sounds like he is well-loved. 13 is a good age for a labrador.

Amanda - your dogs are lurchers arent' they? What were they bred for?

Hi Sue,
Yes I'm fine. It's been a long week at work. Roll on the week-end that's all I can say. I've got nothing planned. Sweden sounds nice but I think I'm an armchair traveller. i know that now from the other week-end when i got stressed out about going to Frankfurt by coach!
I noticed Tec that I've started to put the light on earlier and earlier.

Sue ..... I do hope her leg is better today ....bless her.....it's always a worry when they start to get on a bit in years if they have to face an operation . I googled her breed , they are sweet looking little dogs .

Tec has seen my garden photos as I sent him a link to the facebook ones the other day . Thank you Sue , for saying my photography skills are good , my Dad ( and Grandfather ) where keen photographers , I must get it from them .

Good luck with you veg growing , I feel a little envious that you are looking at the Spring whilst we fade into Autumn but it will also be lovely to hear of new growth whilst we wait for the year to turn again .

Yes Sue , my three are Lurchers . They are running dogs and bred for hunting rabbits etc , they aren't a bred as such , if you cross any running hound ie Deerhound , Greyhound , Wolfhound , Whippet etc with something you end up with a Lurcher . In essence they are running dog mongrels . Ours are Whippet X s , so medium sized .

I am blushing Tec !! ......lol......and thank you : )))

Pat , our dogs names are Milo , Willow and Bandit .

We don't " work " them , in fact I've been heard bellowing at them on more than one occassion if they chase a rabbit ( we have cats so I don't want them to realise that they could chase and hurt / kill any small furry thing )

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 8 Sep 2010 22:43

Tec thats a lovely sounding name , what does Ianto mean ?

PatriciaAnn

PatriciaAnn Report 8 Sep 2010 22:44

Tec, that is truly a Welsh name.
Amanda, I learnt something tonight. I didn't realise what a lurcher was. 3 of them! They must keep you on your toes.
