Good evening Diane and Tec , morning to you Sue ,

I'm glad it's looking like a pleasant day for you Sue , apparently tomorrow we are supposed to be having a sunny day .

Pat , I hope you enjoyed your lazy afternoon , it sounds like bliss .

I had what can only be described as a " Polly put the kettle on " day !!
OH decided to go to the boat as he intends to take her out to sea tomorrow , I thought I'd have a lovely peaceful time in the craft room , no sooner had I decided on my project for the day ( painting up a few wooden boxes ) than I saw my son and his heavily pregnant g/f coming up the path , so I had to put the kettle on for them and stop to chat .....they stayed for a couple of hours . As soon as they left I was back up-stairs , got one little box coated and spotted middle daughter with her b/f and baby Granddaughter coming up the path .....they stayed for about three hours , by which time OH was back , as they where leaving my eldest daughter turned up with the other two Grandchildren , who insisted that baby stayed for another half hour to play with her cousins !! .....youngest daughter and her b/f had also appeared by this time , so there was the whole host of them milling about the house .
So much for my quiet day ! .......lol

Sue I eat a lot of chicken mainly done in curry, I also eat a lot of ham. As a child I didn't eat much meat as my mum used to give me lamb or pork with a lot of the fat on it and it put me off eating it, so I only ate cold meat like ham and chopped pork.

Hi Amanda - I have days like that too:-)) I tend not to do too much planning. Still it's always nice to see family and they obviously love visiting you.

Diane - I love a nice chicken curry. Actually you've given me an idea for tea tonight. I can't stand fatty meat.

Hello Sue ...... I don't tend to make plans either .....lol

It was lovely to see them all actually , it always is : ))

Tec ......... I hear there is to be an " Elvis Convention " in Wales next month ( I had a card advertising the event through the door this morning ) , the thought of hundreds of Elvises ( or whatever the plural of Elvis is ) wandering around South Wales has amused me all day ......lol

Good evening Amanda
Wow what a busy day of tea making you had hun, it is nice to see the kid's and grand children, but why do they seem to turn up when you have made other plan's lol, worse still is when they are expected to come they don't arrive for whatever reason, that is what happened to me on Thursday when I said they were comeing. I spent the afternoon after work cleaning the flat up in readyness for them and they didn't arrive. I'm glad I hadn't prepared a meal, usually I have to make different thing's for the girl's as they all eat different thing's. I was so tired after all the cleaning I went to bed and that is why I never came on the thread on thursday night.

Hello Amanda,

Sounds like you had a busy day with the family - it's good that they like to visit mum en-masse.
I've seen something about the Elvis Convention in South Wales, which makes me so glad to be safely up here in North Wales. Nothing wrong with being an Elvis fan - I SUPPOSE - but some of those Elvis impersonators are hysterical.

Amanda - don't listen to Tec. He is very famous in Wales for his Elvis impersonations. I've seen a photo of Tec in his costume with his hair dyed black. Very....er.....interesting:-))

Hello Diane ..... sorry to hear you did all that house tidying for a no show : ( did your daughter let you know they couldn't come to visit ? At least you got a good sleep on Thursday .
The Elvis convention is in October I believe , in Porthcawl . I had put the card to one side but I think OH has probably put it in the recycle bin .

Yes , Sue ...... I can visualize Tec in an Elvis get up .......at least his dear old dog wouldn't loose him on dark nights if he was dressed in a spangly white jump suit ........LOL

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 11 Sep 2010 22:45

Me - impersonating Elvis, now that would be funny.

Diane - Are you thinking of going to the Elvis Convention? My brother and his wife went to Gracelands when they were touring America. They thought it was wonderful.

The dog had his walk this afternoon, a little one.

I'd love to Tec but proberly won't be able to because of work. If I ever win on the lottery one of the first places I will visit will be graceland. I know exactly were I was and what I was doing the day he died.

Amanda2003 Report 11 Sep 2010 22:53

Tec ....... do you mean flared trousers or has it got distress flares attached to it ?

Diane ..... I googled and the convention is on the 24th - 26th of this month .

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 11 Sep 2010 22:58

If you go Diane make sure you film Tec doing his stint on stage. That white spangly jumpsuit with flares will have all the girls screaming:-))

Amanda she spoke to my son on his mobile to say she didn't think she would be able to make it but he didn't tell me straight away, he has a terrible habit of forgetting to pass messages on. I slept for about 4hrs so by the time I woke up it was about 9pm and I then had my tea, I come on and read all the post by which time most of you had gone to bed so I decided it was to late to come on the thread.

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 11 Sep 2010 23:03

It's funny but when someone doesn't come on the thread in their usual time I worry and have to resist the temptation to send a message asking if they're ok. I have to remember that people get on with what they're doing and don't always have the time or energy to sit and chat.

Diane .....it is annoying isn't it , when they don't pass on messages , my lot do it from time to time , it usually gets remembered when I'm flapping and worrying ......lol
I didn't get on here last night as I was engrossed in a film OH had recorded last week .......it was about the life of Mozart , I was really enjoying it and it suddenly " finished " about 20 mins before the end !! I was not a happy bunny .
