Hello Everyone!!

We are having lovely spring weather here today strange considering that the weather report said it would be raining all weekend not that I am complaining! Beautiful!

Strange here at the moment as we are not running around for footy. I have been able to do some jobs that I have been trying to get to for ages. As we have not been here that long I still have some boxes to unpack and furniture to be moved. Dog to be walked also!

Hope all is well with everyone and you are enjoying some nice weather also.

keep smiling
:-)

Well, it has been very nice on our side of the country too, for the last couple of days - although Victoria still has more floods forecast. I hope the forecast is wrong. It usually is, and we complain about it, but this time, I hope it really is wrong.

Perse - keep watching Sue. I'll bet she came home with more than groceries. It wouldn't be Sue if she didn't pick up an unusual plant of some description!

Good morning/evening all. Hope you are all well.

Diane - no I didn't buy you all a cream cake but I did buy an apple and rhubarb pie from a lady who makes the best pastry:-))

Why do you all assume I bought anything other than fresh veggies?

Good Morning/Evening Everyone,

Today was a nice Autumn day, sunny and warm, bit of a cool breeze.
Enjoyed the visit from my daughter, grand daughter, and SIL. Just those few hours made a very nice break from the usual Sunday routine. We sat in the garden and chatted and laughed a lot. SIL borrowed the tools he wanted and they left for home about five o'clock.

Janet you will get there with the un-packing eventually - keep at it.

Pat I hope you enjoy your visit to Birmingham and the Pope.

Diane I hope you had a good day today and saw the sun.

Sue, I'm sure you bought a plant - just a small tiny plant?

Tec.

Hello Tec - I'm so glad you had a nice day with your daughter and sil and especially as you could sit in the garden.

Pat - sorry I should also have said that I hope you enjoy your visit to Birmingham.

Tec - how do you know I bought a plant? Well......2 plants actually:-)) I bought an elkhorn and a beautiful bromeliad planted in a big log with a fern. Well they were reasonably priced so I couldn't resist. I also bought some very nice silver plated serving spoons and a cake server:-)) They were filthy but they polished up very nicely.

Hi Tec and Sue

Ah Sue I was looking forward to a cream cake, mind you if there is any of that rhubarb pie left I wouldn't mind trying some with a big dolope of cream lol.

Tec glad you had a nice day with your daughter, granddaughter and SIL, yes I had a nice sunny day here but there was a bit of a chilly wind, had some heavy rain shower's earlier in the morning but by the time we took my employer out it was sunny.

I'v had a call from my Dad and he kept me talking fo nearly an hour which ment I missed the rest of the programme I was watching.

hI sUE,
I just knew you had bought at least one plant, and so you bought two. We can only keep bromeliads indoors here - they are nice though. Is the elkhorn a kind of fern?
The silverware sounds good - very posh.

Diane - last night I was watching an episode of Midsommer Murders that I hadn't seen before and my daughter rang up for a chat. I missed 40 minutes of the show and that was enough to lose the thread. So I watched Masterchef instead:-))

Sue those silver item's you bought sound nice, see you should have bought a cream cake and then you could have tried out your cake server.

BTW folk's forgot to tell you my Auntie is a lot better and has returned to the nurseing home.

SueMaid Report 12 Sep 2010 23:01

Yes Tec - the elkhorn and staghorn are ferns. They grow naturally on the trunks of trees. The one we bought is on a wooden back but I will find a piece of tree fern trunk and transfer it to that. I've put up a link with some photos - not mine of course:-))

Sue as much as it is nice to hear from them doesn't it just annoy you when you miss the rest of a programme you were watching. I had seen the one I was watching advertised and said to myself I'll watch that, I even posted on here early to say hi so no one would worry that they hadn't seen a post from me. GGGRRR

Thanks for the link Sue - We can buy tree ferns here, but even quite small ones are so expensive - I would love one, think they're fabulous.

Is that right Tec, so it's all for show not for serving her friend's a cream cake.

Ahem.....I am here so don't discuss me as if I'm not here:-))

Tec - they are very expensive here too. At the local garden centre they are around $45 - $50 dollars for a fairly young one. A large mature one can cost up to $200. I bought this one for $20 so I did well.
