Do others when they receive a message and have read it still have the closed envelope showing as though there is a new message?
I just had one from a very lovely friend of mine and I read it but it is still shut.

Wouldn't like that person to think I hadn't read it... ........

I am asking you people as you are all so very intelligent and the response you get from GR is to put it mildly phtttt.

Persey, I'm not sure about the lizards. We have never found any cast-off skins in the garden, but as we always clearing up debris we could have moved them unknowingly.

Diane, OH decided not to dye her hair this year and has grown a full head of silver locks. She looks very distnguished and dignified

Persey, that has happened to me on occasions, and I keep having to go back to ensure that I haven't received another message. I must admit that it has now been a while since it last happened.

Allan what colour are the bobtailed lizard's, not heard of them before, but then again I have not heard of half the animal's and flower's you Aussie's talk about, unlike the clever brit's on hear who seem to know most of them, my excuse for not knowing the plant's is I don't have a garden lol.

Perse, before you joined that thread the 2 ladie's I mentioned were on when we brit's wern't around and kept the thread on the move, some time's by the time us brit's arrived they had done 3 or 4 pages, there used to be about 8 of us so when you had worked it out you would find that by the time you had posted some-one had got there with the correct answer before you.

I'm just going to make my son and myself a drink, will be back soon.

Good Morning Perse,
Good Morning Allan,

Perse if I sat on a chair au naturel I think the Duchess would throw a sheet over me lol.
I don't stray far from this thread, I occassionally post on Ann In Glos thread "Do the Birds Know" as I have an interest in birdlife. I also chatted to Mac - The Old Geezer - as we discovered that we were flying out of Croydon airfield at the same time in two seater aircraft a long time ago.

Allan, It's too draughty here to walk about with no hair.

Diane - I keep meaning to ask how your son has settled into his new job - I hope he likes it.

Sue, I'm always throwing over ripe bananas away - perhaps you will tell me how to make banana bread sometime.

Diane when I was 20 I had long (red) hair and I had it cut really short because I was going on holiday to Fiji and decided I didn't want it around my neck in the heat. I had a switch (hair piece) made of my hair.
So I have a then and now so to speak. My hair has white bits through it and has changed colour over the years - I have never ever ever put even a rinse in it have just let it grow old gracefully (like moi) it had a kind of frosted look to it. (well you do have a photo of me Diane though it may not do my hair justice)

Persey : <)))

I haven't got a photo of you Persey:-(

The white envelope stays after I've opened the message and it's annoying because I keep checking to make sure I haven't got another message.

I will send you the recipe for banana bread, Tec.

Good evening Tec

Diane, the lizars are a brownish colour with a scaly skin. Of the two older ones, one has a yellowish colouration to its head, so we are assuming that one is male and the other is female.

They are a protected species in WA and you are not supposed to handle them, but we've had them in the garden for years now.

They just go for the low growing tomatoes, and love strawberries!

Hello everyone ...... I haven't read through the thread tonight as I'm very late ( almost bedtime in fact ) in getting on here . I had pulled the thread up to read but then a close friend phoned and I've been chatting for an hour ....lol
I've been helping my friend to trace his birth family and he has just been up dating me on his e-mails from his newly discovered half brother, I'm feeling pleased with myself that I could put my " hobby " to such a good use in introducing them to each other : ))
I've had an exhausting day as middle daughter has just enrolled in college and I got left holding the baby ....lol.....we need to find a nursery / childminding place for her but the area is a bit overwhelmed with little ones needing nursery places . I'm sure I can cope for a week or two but she don't half make me feel my years !
Hope that everything is good with everyone and I'm saying Hello and goodbye in one breath here as OH is starting the " off to bed routine " ....lol
I'll catch up tomorrow : ))

Persephone Report 14 Sep 2010 23:45

Well I am off to the big smoke - easier to go by bus. Hope the weather does not change its mind again and rain... don't want to walk "the brollie"

Tec - I sometimes make small loaves of banana bread in those tins that make about 8 little loaves. They cook quicker and are handy when someone turns up unexpectedly - have them made in no time. Depending on how many people I either halve or alter the mixture to suit.. I also use less sugar in them than what the recipe states. But if I used Splenda or other subsitute (for OH) I try and stick to the correct measures.

Enjoy your sleep in that big bed Brits.... I know whilst Linda is away there is room for Sandie but you will all have to snuggle that bit closer when she gets back.

Cheers Ozzies.

Perse xx

Tec, my son love's his job, I just hope he is able to get a long time contract of at least 12mths when his 6mth one run's out. he did a DVD of what the company is about for their partner's and would be fund supporter's and was praised for the work he had put into it, in fact one of their fund supporter's asked how had he made it.

Yes Perse I do have a pic of you, and a very nice one hun.

Allan I'm not yet ready to grow old gracefully, but maybe when I reach my 60's then I will, not disrespect to your OH.

Sue that sound's like a nice hobby and a good way to keep thing's in order so that you are able to refer back too and enjoy memorie's.

Hi all~~

On this pesky laptop again ! Scuse any spelling mistakes .lol

Perse, I didn't realise the numbers thread was the first one you went on:)
It's not the same without Jacks and Daph, but I still keep in touch with them by e.mail

Diane, Porthcawl is about 45 mins away from me.

Tec , whereabouts are you, I live near Ebbw Vale.

My dau bought a Banana bag to keep them ripe, neither of us like them if they are spotty, hubby will eat them with custard.lol
The banana bag was from Lakeland, I think she bought it from the Gargen Festival site at E Vale or at the Carfartha Park in Merthyr.
It seems to work, you put unblemished perfect bananas in the cushioned bag, draw the string and store it at the lower part of the fridge!

I haven't read right thro the thread since last posting so apologises if I 've missed any questions or not acknowledged anyone.

Lol Allan,
Know you aren't that type of person:)

I've ate pidgeon, dad had to clean it , it's crop was full of green vegitation!! A friend had shot it:(
Not a lot of meat on it, bit like chicken to taste.

I caught a fresh water eel ,in a plastic carrier bag when I was on a school field trip, dad skiinned it and we both ate it, quite nice, bit of a bacon taste.

Rabbit was another unsual meal we had, a friend gave it to us, dad ...again skinned it and cooked it. I was not impressed:(

Dad did all the cleaning and cooking as I was in my early teens at the time.
Could do it myself now !
