Good morning Sue and Allan

the lizard's are so cute, but they seem a strange thing to have running around your garden, though I suppose a lizard in your garden is like us haveing blackbird's and tit's ( as in bird's ) in our's.

Good Morning Allan.

Persey I think you should definately include that meeting in your memoirs, it was an amazing coincidence.

We get little sand lizards in the sand dunes by the beach. They are only about three inches long, and a golden brown in colour. I've seen three in my garden over the years when it's very hot.

Tec.

Hello Allan - my mum used to give us tongue sandwiches when we were kids. I haven't eaten it for many years.

Amanda - that sounds like a good idea filling the box with hair stuff. You can buy such pretty hair clips etc. Aimee walks around carrying her pencil box so her brother's can't get them:-)) My daughter was given a pretty handmade keep-sake box at a baby shower before her eldest was born. I thought that was a lovely idea. I'm really pleased your daughter is getting some help. I'm sure she'll be on the right track in no time.

Diane - your son is doing well so I really hope it all works out. If not then he has some good experience under his belt that will help when he goes for another one.

Hi Persey:-)

Amanda, i suppose that I am an "offal" person :0))

One of my childhood memories was of my mother roasting a stuffed ox heart. Nice ! I also like lamb's liver and lamb's kidneys although OH will not eat kidney.

Diane the lizards help to keep control of some of the nasty pests in the gardes

Sue .... the thought of Aimee walking about clutching her pencil box brings a smile to my face ....kids are great aren't they ....lol
The boxes I buy are quite cheap , plain wood that is very light ( have wondered if they are Balsa wood ? ) , they come up lovely with a coat of Enamel paint on them , I have several under way and when I've done them I'll put a photo on FB : ))
Persey .... your Yeoman tale is extraordinary !
Allan , I passed on your " bottle of water " tip to my daughter , is nodded and said " good idea " , I think it helped her a bit to know that other folk have had similar experiences ..... thank you all for caring .

I might paint a LIzard on one of my boxes : ))

You are right Sue it is all experience for him if he has to move on but I know he would really be happy to stay were he is.

Allan do they eat slug's and snail's, if so we could do with them around our hoster's in the summer ( well my employer's mum's garden at least )

Well I am going to turn in as since last Friday I have been haveing a problem with my left hip and sitting here to long is agrivateing it and makeing it very painfull so I'm off to bed to rest it and put a pillow between my knee's to hold the hip at the right level to stop it paining to much.

Good night all brit's and sleep well and warm

enjoy your day down under's ~~~~~~~~~~~ to all who look in later

Enjoy your day Sue, Persey, Allan, and Berona,

Goodnight,

Good night Diane. I think that the lizards may eat slugs as we see very few of them. We have many snails, so I don't think that they feature on the lizards' menu.

Amanda you could stick a picture on a box and seal it with clear varnish. I've never done that but I've seen it in magazines. The boxes I've bought are cheap too. In fact I've bought them in our local discount store. I don't know the equivalent in the UK but here we have a store called Spotlight which sells fabrics, curtaining and lots of craft stuff. They sell pieces of felt and had a sample of a little bag made from a rectangular piece with both short ends cut with pinking shears then sewn up edges and little felt shapes cut out and stuck on. They'd put ribbon straps on to make a little shoulder bag for girls.

Allan ..... I've never liked the idea of " offal " , the dinner lady at school when I was about 5 made me eat Liver and I was sick on the dinner table ....lol

I'm off to bed as well , what with Tec getting tangled in his hair and Diane stuffing pillows about it's not looking like a peaceful prospect ......lol

Hope your hip is feeling better soon Diane , I do the pillow thing sometimes , as I have a dodgy pelvis .
Sleep well us Brits and have a lovely day to others .

Amanda, once I found that my condition did not have any sinister implications that became a relief in itself. My GP never referred me to anyone else, nor did she prescribe any medication. It was one of those things that I just learnt to live with.

Hi Sue :-)

Hello Allan... I thought lizards ate insects..... we have little lizards out in amongst our weeds.

I had to let himself have a turn on the puter - in the interests of matrimonial harmony. He is going to work next week for a few weeks 3 and 1/2 days a week... the agency rang him and asked if he would like a part time job. So then it will be all mine !!!!!!!!!!!!

A megalomaniac as well as a destroyer of natve wild life :0))

I don't know what the lizards eat, to be honest (apart from tomatoes and strawberries) but I do know that we have very few sliugs but many snails, all a pretty red colour.

They look very nice in the early evening when we all sing 'Red Snails in the Sunset' :0))

Persephone Report 15 Sep 2010 23:56

I suppose it is the Aussie dust that makes them red....

My OH worked up in Gove and the red dust used to end up everywhere.. I have a photo of him working on the roads - he is suntanned. skinny with a beard - he almost looks like he has become a native of OZ.

Megalomania - no, more an opportunist but I like your thinking.

not all natives of Oz are suntanned, bearded and skinny: I for one am pale, clean-shaven and flabby!!

Mind you some of the ladies look quite cute with their beards :0))
