Hello is there any-one there ?

good evening all brit's and good morning all down under's

After work I went to the hospital with my daughter to find out why she had had the funny turn's a couple of week's ago. The Specialist she saw think's they were down to the fact as well as suffering from low blood pressure the reason behind the funny turn's was she had probaly missed takeing her medication she has to take every day. She has a condition called Sheehan's syndrome and is fully dependant on her medication, if she were to stop takeing it she would lapse into a coma and then with-out treatment her heart would probably fail. So when she forget's to take her tab's she start's to slow down ( I can alway's tell when she is due to take her tab's ) it's as if she goes into slow motion. She developed this condition after her last daughter was born, they think a slight stroke after the birth was the cause of it, they say she had a slight bleed in her brain which damaged her Pituitary gland which is the main gland that stimulate's all the other gland's in the body, as this doesn't work anymore all her other gland's no longer produce enough of the hormone's she need's to sustain her body and keep her organ's working properly, basically she is completely dependant on her medication, so to miss only one dose will have an affect on her. Well after woffling on we are glad to learn today that her funny turn's are not as we feared ( another bleed ) but because she must make sure she doesn't miss any doses in future.

When I started this post no one was on the thread, as it has took me over half an hour to write you will all have arrived lol.

Evening Diane ...... well , I'm pleased to hear that your daughters recent problem is not down to something as sinister as a bleed . What an awful worry for you . I do hope she can always remember to take her tablets in the future . Has she got one of those little box things , with the days written on them , maybe that would help her to keep track ?

Your quiet ight , we all arrived whilst you where typing .....lol

Evening /morning all~~
I've never tried tripe, looks too slimey for me !
As for offal I like both liver and kidneys, tried beef and lamb heart but wasn't fussed at all.
When the British Steel workers went on strike in 1980 for 3months my friend and I (whose both husbands worked there ) used to test each other to see how many meals we could make out of a chicken.lol Think that was the first time I tried chicken liver and kidneys, very delicate and tasty !!

Hi Diane~~
Exactly the same as me, there was hardly anyone around when I started typing.lol

Good Morning Sue,

Lovely time to be in the garden with the promise of Spring. There is stilla lot of colour in my garden. The roses are still doing well, The huge hydrangea heads are beginning to fade now, but still colourful, the honeysuckle is still in bloom, as is the crazy mixed up magnolia.

Hi Tec, Amanda and Sue

Amanda I watched The Young One's and thought it had over the last 3dys showed how stimulation and encouragement with old people make's a big difference, that is why I hate to visit nurseing home were my auntie is and see all the resident's sitting around a TV doing nothink.

Hello Diane and Sandy:-))

Diane - I'm so glad your daughter is ok. We still worry about our family no matter how grown up they are.

Sandy - I have a small magazine that came with a recipe magazine that's called '100 ways with chicken'. I'm sure there are much more than 100:-))

Diane .....it was a really good experiment wasn't it and also very entertaining and informative . I know what you mean about the old peoples homes . Hopefully the staff people or even residence of some homes might have watched it and become inspired .

Good evening/morning all

All this continuing talk of food is making me feel peckish.

Sandie, I used to make chicken liver pate but not since being put on a low fat diet.

The days are definitely drawing oy here in SW of WA. It is now becoming light outside.

Diane, I'm pleased that your daughter has had her problem identified.

Sandie, make your OH iron his own shirts!

I have to: however, I enjoy ironing and do most of it here at home.

Hi Sandie, you arrived as I was posting hun, I love chicken but the only time I have used the ofal of chicken is when I cooked it and gave it to the dog.

Sue, the best thing about spring is deciding what plant's and flower's we want in the garden, glad that your weather is nice so you can make a start in your garden.

Tec how are you and OH today, do your roses have a nice smell to them, the thing I hate about bought roses is they never have a smell to them, the same goes for most bought flower's.

Amanda, I have suggested in the past about one of those container's, but as you will probably know the youngon's ( sp ) think they know best, but after this incident she might decide it is a good idea.

Good morning Allan .... I'm pleased to hear your days are drawing out , oddly enough ours are drawing in ......lol.....our Summer sort of came and went this year : (

Sandie ..... I don't do any ironing , haven't done for years , it's my contribution to saving the planet : ))

Diane , I know what you mean about the youndsters not wanting to be told , perhaps you could just buy one and leave it in her house , bet she would use it .

Hi Allan~~

He does the if he runs out and I'm in bed .lol, but shirts are the one things I don't mind ironing, can do one in 4 mins :)

Wish hubby would do the rest of it tho, dau does her own and I just 'hand press' the creases out of son's clothes.. except his work clothes or night out gear.lol

Good morning Allan,
How are you and OH today, well as you are going into the lighter morning we are going into the darker one's. I hate it when I have to go to work in the dark, it doesn't feel right arriveing there when it is still dark. feel as though I should still be in my bed.

Amanda the experiment proved the point I have alway's believed, when most people retire and they don't have a hobby or an interest that keep's their mind's and bodie's stimulated then they just tend to sit down and give up, ( if you don't use it it will cease up ) and that applie's to the mind as well as the body.

Hello Allan - hope you are well.

I usually don't bother ironing - if it piles up I contribute to the economy of the local area and pay someone to do it:-)) My one extravagance and it really shocks my mum!!

I also don't bother giving my children the benefit of my aged wisdom and life experience. It generally means very little to them:-))

Good Evening Diane, Sandie,
Good Morning Allan,

Diane that is a worrying condition your daughter has, and so important she remembers her medication. I am the Chief Dispenser here - everyone morning little heaps of tablets are put in little pots to be taken by us both throughout the day - it can get quite confusing, like today when the doctor changed some of OHs - I have to retrain - the only thing I'm not involved with is OHs insulin, except to remind her to take it.

Sandie - Like Allan, I also like ironing, and all ironing here is done by me.

Allan, I like chicken liver pate on toast - very nice.

Amanda the ten bare root roses I planted in April are still flowering like it was June. Very pleased with them.
