Hello whoever is left and a big ~~~~~~~~~ to those still here.

Welcome back Susanwithnumbers - Why are you asking US why do people leave? We DON'T leave, we like talking to each other too much for that - so how would any of us know why people leave?

Hi Berona~~~~

I'm still about, just !
I need to be really tired to get to sleep, as I have a trapped Ulna nerve in my right hand which is painful, and have to sleep with my arm straight, which I find dificult. I usually sleep in the feotal position, can't do it now !!
Hope you are well..?

Berona Report 17 Sep 2010 03:14

Yes, thank you Sandie. I understand what you mean about not being able to sleep. I had shingles last April and the soreness in my under-arm and on my back shoulder blade, has continued. Can't see anything but the soreness is in the nerves of the skin where the rash was. I have to hurt myself when I settle down to sleep and the soreness becomes worse with the movements. I then wait for a few moments and the soreness goes away - and that's when I go out like a light - and sleep for ten or twelve hours! The tablet is Endep - leaves my mouth very dry but I don't stay awake for long enough to do anything about it - then when I wake up, I'm OK until I start to move to get out of bed. I really don't think the tablet does anything to make the soreness go away, but it does allow me to sleep - much more than I'm used to doing.

Hello there Berona and everyone...

I'm so sorry Berona, your still having problems with those shingles, its a good thing you have those tablets to help you to sleep. I hope it clears up soon for you xx

Well, our bulbs are starting to sprout:-)) I found one that had flowered the other day and when OH came home, made him come out and have a look - he's thrilled after all the time he spent planting!!
There is one area in the garden, its my part of the garden, where OH has planted about 100 bulbs. We had a bet the other night, he says no bulbs will flower, I say there will be heaps!!! The bet is 20 bucks!!

Kids go on holidays for two weeks, today - they are looking forward to the break!

Have a great day all/sweet dreaming brits:-))

Persephone Report 17 Sep 2010 06:28

Hello Carole

Now isn't that nice to have the bulbs starting to flower and for you to be right. !!!!

We are in for stormy weather here .... it's all got too too too much for me. I was in the loo off the back bathroom/laundry this morning and I could hear the windy weather out the window and then the floor started shaking and there was rumbling noises - I thought oh no not us, not an earthquake..... forgot I had but the washing machine on earlier and its vibrating was causing the floor to shake.

So before the storm came down I got out and mowed that lawn - the grass was still a bit too wet despite all the wind.... half a lawn done out front and the blackbird arrived again... I think I must pop up on his radar screen. After mowing inbetween showers I managed to get it done before the deluge arrived.

I can hear all the zzzzzzzzzz's from the Brits so they are sleeping well.

I do hope you can get rid of this pain Berona - it is good that you take something to knock you out but you need something that will make you better whilst you are in dreamland.

Hello Sue, Allan, Colin and Janet.

~~~~~~~to Pam, hope to see you back here soon.
Cheers Perse (*_*)
Hello Perse,
I'll be right as long as OH didn't plant the bulbs upside down otherwise I'll have to fork out the dough!!
Got a bit worried as I was reading your post, though I suppose you wouldn't be posting if it were an earthquake - thank god for that!!!!
Our weather is not too nice either, its grey and cold outside - showers forecast here for the weekend. I really need some sun, this winter has dragged on too long!!
I have one only orchid which flowered once after being the pot for two years. Flowers were small but quite nice.
I brought it with me to where I am now (four years ago) and last year, changed pots (although both were ceramic). I don't have a shadehouse so it has been moved around to get as much protection from the house as I could give it and I have often thought of getting rid of it.
Last week, I went out to look at it and it's absolutely beautiful - large flowers in bright yellow with a tinge of red around the edges.
Looks like I'll be moving it around again - and I was going to throw it away!!!
Hello Diane .......sorry to see you won't be about later but I hope the " things you have to get on with " are nice things .
Carole , isn't just lovely to see the first bulbs pushing up , it always puts a spring back into my step when I spot a Crocus or something : ))
Berona , I'm sorry to hear you have such problems with the Shingles , I hope it sorts itself out eventually , at least you are getting some sleep ,.
Persey , I'm so pleased it wasn't an Earthquake after all , it must have been a horrid moment or two for you there !
It's decidedly chilly here this evening and I've put the gas fire on in the living room for the first time this Summer , true to form , our big fat cat " Pippin " is layed full length along the fireguard .....lol.....he looks really happy : ))
Hi Diane,
Hope that all that needs to be done, gets done.
You are excused, especially as you sent a note lol.
Hope to catch up with you tomorrow - take care.
This afternoon my doorbell rang. I answered the door to find a lady who recently moved into the village. She looked at me, and said "My hamster has died" Wondering why I needed to know this, I expressed my condolences. Then she said " I'm told you might have a red rose - I'm holding her funeral, and so need a red rose"
Whereupon I escorted her into my garden, where the recently bereaved was able to select a nice specimen of a red rose.
It has been an odd day really................
Hello Amanda and Tec - sorry I missed you Diane.
Tec - well....that was strange although very kind of you to give her a red rose.
Amanda - my lily bulbs are pushing through now so that's a definate sign of spring:-))
I've had a message from our Pam and she sends her love to all and hopes to be back soon.
It's my birthday tomorrow and I'm wondering if I'll feel any older in the morning:-))
Good evening Tec ........what a surreal experience , did you feel as if you where still asleep ? But bless you for being so kind to the lady and letting her make the perfect selection of red rose .
I've been heavily engrossed in my box painting , two days on the trot , with only minor disturbance , I can't believe I've managed to stay on such a creative course for such a length of time !
I even said a resounding " NO " to middle daughter yesterday when she was trying to get me to look after Emily for an hour yesterday , not like me at all .....lol......perhaps I still have the stamina to turn into a temperamental artist .
Amanda2003 Report 17 Sep 2010 21:42
Good morning Sue and a very Happy Birthday for tomorrow , you won't feel in the least bit older if the sun is a shining and spring is in the air ; )
It's odd that you've mentioned the birthday word as I was ( only a few hours ago ) idly wondering what birth signs " us of the Aussie thread " are ? So , you are a Virgo lady then ?
Tecwyn
Tecwyn Report 17 Sep 2010 21:54
Good Evening Amanda,
Good Morning Sue,
Yes Amanda - that was a rather surreal experience , but if it made the lady feel better.........then.
It sometimes does the children good to know that mum can sometimes say "No" and that you still have a life of your own.
Incidently, I was born at the Dawning of The Age of Aquarius - except that there were bombs dropping on me at the time, so arrived with a big bang lol.
Sue - Good to see your bulbs appearing.
Have you any plans for your birthday tomorrow? After all you're not 39 every day - just the once.
Tec.
SueMaid
SueMaid Report 17 Sep 2010 21:59
Tec - 39!!! How very dare you:-))
No plans other than bringing mum over for lunch. She likes to see me on my birthday. Daughter and grandchildren will be over in the afternoon so that will be nice.
Yes Amanda I'm a Virgo:-)) Reading the characteristics I'm a very typical one too. Not sure if that's good or bad.
Amanda2003 Report 17 Sep 2010 22:01
Hello Tec ..... so your an Aquarian ( as am I also ) but I didn't arrive in this world until the early 60s so thankfully avoided any bombs .
Amanda2003 Report 17 Sep 2010 22:06
Sue ..... I bet you'll be smiling all day tomorrow : )) your children and Grandchildren will no doubt be showering you with gifties and you'll have your Mum to visit as well , what could be better : ))
I don't think that anyone is a " typical " of their birth sign , it's not really that simple is it ......lol......but I can never stop myself from asking the birth sign question eventually .
SueMaid
SueMaid Report 17 Sep 2010 22:16
You're right Amanda - no-one is "typical" as such but I do have some characteristics I guess. Having 6 Leos in my immediate family is scary:-))
Blimey Sue...... I don't envy you the six Leos !! ...... I've only got the one ( my son ) and as Leos go he is a big pussy cat now .....lol
Having said that I'm being besieged with Sagittarius people , OH , middle daughter , middle daughters boyfriend and sons girlfriend , it's going to be hectic bithday hurdles just before christmas in this house !! ....lol
