Goodnight Amanda,
sleep well,
Tec.

You are right Diane, I can't be in two places at once, and obviously OH comes first - if she has a bad hypo in the night I need to know about it - oh well, we'll see.

Tec ,

As a dog lover I don't think it sounds silly what ever you do for your dogs good welfare:) Would have walked over hot coals for mine !
When we first had Sandy he would start off sleeping in the living room and as I tend not to close doors, he would end up at the side of my bed each night, and wake us up with the rattle of his tags on his collar !
As he stayed between mine and dads, he got used to sleeping on his own chair in dads and our living room at ours. Doors shut !

My next door neighbours dog is a cocker spaniel bitch, she's not very friendly, David says she is timid, but the poor thing barks all the time she is left alone, she's howling now. I've only noticed it since I finished work as I'm out and around in the day time, but have since noticed it in the evenings also.
They have a frosted glass door and I can see her wandering around barking:(
Can't be good for her being stressed like that! Poor thing.

I never had dogs when hubby and I both worked cos I thought it unfair on them to be alone, except Sandy the rescue dog cos we knew as long as he could lie in the warm, over dads upstairs hot water pipes, and in the sun behind my glass front door or patio doors he was fine, just glad not to be out on the streets, and we had the most tremendous welcome when we came home, funny little mut:))

Hope yours is better tonight and you can get some sleep.

Won't be long before I choose to have mine.lol

Yes Sandie, it's morning here, and I'm fine thanks.

Tec has been trying over a period of time to teach us all welsh!

These days I only speak Double Dutch.

I'm originally from the UK (Manchester) and spent many happy holidays in North Wales, usually in the Conwy region.

Sandie, here is a link to the worl time zones if you are interested.

Sue put us on to this site some time ago and it does help. Even in Oz we have three different time zones, which become even more complicated when daylight saving starts. WA and Queensland do not have Daylight Saving Time, which has to be factored in when dealing with Eastern States Banks etc

Not an easy language to learn apparently !
I am not a fluent Welsh speaker by any stretch of one's imagination.
Passed my O Level Welsh and did 4 yrs night classes in Spoken welsh in my 40's.
I was taught basic Welsh words and phrases at 4 ( it was a pilot scheme in the junior school at the time ) and was paid 6 old pence in 1960 to say
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerchwywndobwllllantisilliogogoch !
Bil lives in that village now, he has lived in N Wales for over 30yrs and hasn't mastered the language.
His children born there are all fluent, but the spoken North Welsh is a bit different from the South , and the accent is very different , so they loose me if we attempt to converse in Welsh.lol

Sandie, languages are a funny thing. I spent years at school learning French and the only time I used it was during a holiday in Bulgaria in the early 1970's!

And that was over a dispute about a beach umbrella :0))

J Lives in Perth and D lived in the opposite side of the the country ,but has since moved continents !
We still e mail each other, but when they were both on GR on the No.s thread I used to be able to suss it out.

Sandie.

If I don't get on the laptop now , I will say goodbye, and speak to you soon.x

I'm here now - but everyone else has gone again! There was so much to read before I knew what the topic was.
I have only attempted to learn one other language, and that was when I had three lessons in French - just prior to going to France.
I only mastered one phrase by the time I went - but never needed it. Why would anyone be interested if I said to them "the pen of my aunt is on my uncle's desk"????? How often should I need to say that?
Sue - hope you had a lovely birthday and didn't buy too many plants at the markets.
Save some cake for me.

Persephone Report 19 Sep 2010 02:57

When I was working Allan we had to change our computer password every so often - one was of course Persephone, but another was Parapluie..... now that would be useful in Bulgare would it not? My last password before I left was Kettering... our IT person asked me what to Ketter meant as though I had added ing and made it a present participle.... I replied it is a bit like Kipling and have you Kippled lately? I asked he didn't get it.... so had to explain that it was a delightful little place in Tasmania.... Not the place in Michigan I hasten to add.

Yes I am Libran, I think aquarians are the nice natured ones - my youngest is one and she would definitely fall into that category.

I took the liberty of using Sue's cake server for my piece of cake, thanks Diane.

The wind has been terrible here - it blew my recycle bin along the garden path, there it went its little wheels rolling along in the storm .. thought it was off to visit Allan.

I am just glad I am not down South at the moment the snow's so heavy it caused the Invercargill stadium roof to cave in. It's only ten years old and is used for every sporting event and after school activities. I have a cousin living in Bluff so better check that she is okay.

I'm a bit late answering you Allan, but it's fine here. A little cold for me and the sky is all cloudy, but no sign of rain.
