I knew it!!!
We know you better than you think we do.

Oh well, seeing that it's your birthday.............
How big is the plant and what is it?

Hi Berona - we obviously keep missing each other:-) I bought a lovely orchid plant from a man who has no idea what most of the plants he sells are called. The plant's flowers are just past their best but it's very healthy and it can be divided. Best of all - it only cost me $10. It also needs repotting as the soil seems to be a bit compacted so I'll do that tomorrow.

Persey - you may use my cake server. Diane's cake is worthy of the best china and silver.

The funniest sight today? The grandkids singing happy birthday and then taking it in turns to blow out the candles:-)).

Happy birthday again our Sue - what color is your orchid? $10 is a good price.

I have an orchid that my MIL gave me a few years ago - though Ive divided it a few times and have about four pots now, my flowers are purple. Its a very hardy plant, takes no looking after at all!!

~~~~~~~ to everyone, I hope you are all well:-))
Thank you all for your warm welcome back. It's 'wind down time' for me. I've been home for a couple of hours and had dinner, helped to feed baby birds and now am getting myself wound down ready for bed. The travelling is great but then, I get to travel in a great part of the world. People come to where I live from all over the world and I get to live here anyway. Wonderful Except when it started to rain as it did today.
I was about 10klms north of Port Douglass at Cooya Beach and just as I started the car to head back to Cairns the heavens opened and Allan, it actually rained wheelie bins. That's what we say up here in the far north rather than saying it's raining buckets.
Rain was so hard I couldn't see the front of the car let alone the road so had to pull over until it stopped. No visibility at all. Then when it cleared some I decided it was time to get the heck out of there and got back to the northern beaches of Cairns and spent the rest of the day working there.
I'm hoping it's not going to keep raining for long because I have to go to the Daintree next week and work. I'll be away for about 5 days (and yes, the company pays for me accommodation etc.) but the Daintree area is a rainforest (new fangled jargon for jungle) and the darned creeks can come up and flood the road in an instant and cut you off from where you're going.
Good thing I like an adventurous life, eh?
Cheers,
P.
Hope you had a very happy birthday Sue. So your birth date is 19th September, is it? Mine is 24th September. You Virgo, me Libra. I'm only 20 minutes into Libra though so I have a lot of Virgo traits.
Your orchid sounds lovely. I'd like to know what colour the flowers are too. I went out the back tonight and my Madonna Lily has a myriad of flowers on it. It always loves the rain.
Good day folks~~
Hope everyone is well:)
Apologies to All , I went on the laptop, when I signed off my PC last night and after typing out replies to Berona re- 'le pe de moi t'aunt etc, and something to Allan also about languages, something to Tec about dogs then I got disconnected, I thought the server had gone down, but I had unknowingly knocked a switch on the lappy knocking it off wireless connection. A lesson learnt , I will know next time ! Duh !
Happy birthday again Sue, ☺☺☺
Have to start on lunch now.. now I know that it is Sunday here.lol
Just had a look in and some of you have dropped in for a visit.
Ladies - the flowers of the orchid are white with a little bit of yellow in the centre. They are quite small. Carole - I do very little with the orchids just keep them tidy.
Pam - see you when you get back.
Thank you Sue for your compliment about your cake hun, your orchid sound's lovely but surely you don't have many places left for anymore plant's.
Pam nice to see you posting hun, hope your trip tomorrow is minus wind rain and anything that will cause a disruption to your day.
See you all later
Good Evening Diane,
Hope are well and had a good day. Dull day here with a warm wind.
I did manage to get to bed last night in the end. Spent 10 minutes trying to get my dog to go upstairs. He wasn't having it, so I went upstairs to gather things up for another night on the sofa. While doing this OH went down, and I heard her say in a very firm voice " Get up them stairs now"
Guess what? upstairs came the dog.
Will it work tonight? - who knows.
Tec - you made me laugh. Does the Duchess talk to you like that and do you do what you're told:-))
Diane - I always seem to find room for another plant:-))
Good evening Diane and Tec ....Good day Sue ,
Blimey !! .....just as I was beginning to type this a BIG spider ran across the room ( the cat spotted it but refused to give chase ) , I rushed to get a glass and as I was going to catch it , MIlo ( dog ) decided he would eat it !! I by this time was standing ( like a big girl ) on the computer chair .....lol
He is my hero now : )))
I already tackled one earlier today that had decided to lodge jut above the toilet door . ..... I expect I'll keep imagining " phantom " creepies now ...lol
Anyway ......... a big well done to the Dutchess ......she sounds like a no nonsense kind of lady .....lol
Hope your enjoying your programme Diane .
Sue ....will you be in the garden today ?
Tecwyn
Tecwyn Report 19 Sep 2010 22:05
Been a strange day here - very dull and windy, but the wind was warm. Did some tidying in the garden, sorted some tools out - took the dog for a little walk, and worked on my tree - easy day.
Hi Amanda - what a coincidence. I've just disposed of a big black spider. I don't think I'll be gardening today. There's a couple of things I'd like to do in the house with only me at home - washing floors is difficult when two men are tramping around:-))
Sounds like a nice day Tec - especially working on the tree.
It sounds like a pleasant day you've had Tec .
To my shame , I've been on the computer more or less all day !
Baby was picked up at noon and I jumped on here then and have been searching for tree clues ever since ....lol
I have got up from time to time and moved about or I would be locked solid by now ......lol
