But give him his due he did rush to the door the second time cos he knew i was in bed , but unaware I'd got up 2 mins earlier to sign for a parcel for him. Lads !!!!!!

It's quite a sunny day here today may consider putting a wash load in, there's always enough for me to do at least one load a day!

Good afternoon to you Sandie.

I was just about to turn off the comp when I saw your message.

I've been having a bit of fun on Uzzi's missing thread thread.

Warm here today, but still no signs of rain. Talk of more severe water restrictions :0((

Hello Sandie and good evening Allan ( or is it the middle of your night ? ),

I
We've just been out for a walk in the woods with the dogs . I ( hopefully ) got some more good pictures of Fungi , I do so love the Autumn when they all sprout up like little magical sculptures : ))

I have a load of washing flapping in the breeze . It's a lovely day here , one lent from summer in fact . I've noticed one of my Rose bushes is smothered in buds ( in didn't flower in the summer and has saved itself for now it seems ) .

LOL @ Berona and her hair rinse : ))
I wonder how our Sue got on with her meeting ?

Will look back in later .

Hi all~~

Allan's gone to bed I expect:)

Amanda, it's gone over cloudy now so must get the washing in, just had a e mail from son for me to wash a white Calvin Klein t. shirt for him, probably for him to wear to work tomorrow. He's a seasonal worker with As*da and they are advertising discount on jeans and jeggings at the mo, so he doesn't need his normal George uniform, he can can go casual.
Must get it sorted !!

OMD re Berona , I would have collapsed on the spot if I had green hair,lol.

Sue will hold here own ..no probs, but it would be nice to see how she got on:)

Morning from the Antipodes.

Tecwyn Report 21 Sep 2010 21:08

Good Morning Persey - What are you doing up so early? is it the dawn chorus, or the anticipation of the exciting day ahead?

I've been preparing two rooms in readiness for the chimney sweep who has threatened to arrive at 8 am tomorrow. We have central heating of course, but it's nice to have a real fire in the depths of winter, especially if it's anything like last winter.

~~~~~~~~~to everyone,
Tec.
I will be sweeping out the Ark in readiness for departure, will be docking over on the Welsh Coast in a few weeks time if this weather persists.
Looked out the kitchen window and the wind was blowing the rain into whirls up the drive.
We haven't got a fireplace in this house - so don't think I better have a fire. Have decided I won't be buying my next house with a chimney after seeing what happens to them in earthquakes.
Persey I'll be waiting on the beach swinging a lantern to guide you in lol.
Your weather sounds awful - we are used to wet and windy here, the best when the rain comes horizontal off the mountain, ripping your face off - oh don't remind me - winter's coming.
Chimneys are dodgy things in earthquakes, but fortunately we don't get them, only little tremors once in a blue moon. There is a huge chimney stack on this house - the Edwardians didn't spare bricks.
The sun has come out now... another day like yesterday - beautiful sunshine and then down she pours then the sun arrives and the wind drys up all the paths ready for the next deluge.
This house did have a pot belly stove (fireplace) but it had a little metal chimney and we took it out - gave us so much more room in the lounge... it had bricks lining the walls behind it and a brick floor and when we pulled out all the bricks we found that they had built it on top of the carpet. We sold the pot belly on "Trade Me" (equivalent of E-Bay) it even had pipes to have a wetback - the chap that bought it for his little place in the sticks was well pleased. You should have seen his son load the heavy thing into the boot of his car.
Good morning to you Persey and sorry to hear it's a bleak and soggy one that your having . Perhaps it will brighten up for you later ?
Evening Tec...... are you ready in your sweeps outfit to sing " Chim Chimmeney " when the chap arrives tomorrow . Lucky you , having a coal fire . I had to do away with mine years ago as when the council put in the new windows we kept getting a frightful back waft of smoke into the room .
I have a coal effect gas fire : ))
Amanda - I had given my granddaughter when she was 2-3 yrs old a shower and after she was dried - she zapped out of the bathroom(naked as a jay bird) and ran around the lounge singing Chim Chimmeney and then leapt in the air and clicked her heels together.
So will you be doing that then Tec?
Amanda2003 Report 21 Sep 2010 21:53
LOL Persey !! Would the sweep ever return if he did ?............LOL
Tecwyn
Tecwyn Report 21 Sep 2010 21:53
Hi Amanda - Yes I'll be singing the song, and the Duchess will be Meery Poppins - I like a wood burning stove really, but the chimney is so high that the cost of the liner would be more than the stove itself - although the wood to burn would be very expensive, even though we are surrounded by woodlands and forests.
Persey - How strange to leave the carpet under the bricks - I'm sure the same person lived in this house once - I found some very strange efforts at DIY here.
Good Evening Linda,
Hope you are well, and OH is feeling better today.
I have never wanted to be normal - normal people scare me :))
Amanda - Normality is not something I relate too - insanity is nearer my state of mind, and is reflected in my daily life lol.
Evening Linda..
Not really an early bird - just usually do 'things" before I come on here.
Sorry disappeared - had a phone call from a friend in Whakatane ( my immediate thought was earthquake and she lives in fault line area). We used to play cards in bed when lights were out... that was when I first experienced earthquakes - they seemed to always come at night.
She rang up to apologise because the other day she was ringing her cousin and rang me in error and hung up because she had the wrong number and realised later she had rung my number.
Someone rang me earlier and I answered and she said Hello Dave..... now I am worried!!!
While I was on the phone it poured down again so noisily I could hardly hear and now the sun has returned.
