Diane I am six going on one hundred and six, depending on where my fancy takes me. And as long as the same fancy brings me back and I don't stray all will be well with me ... it is the same with my knickers when they get worn out, I assure you they get worn home again unlike one young lady who said when they were worn out she gave them to her boyfriend for cleaning his motorbike.

Of course Tec is a perfect gentleman Diane, he is far too scared of the Duchess to be anything else.

Sue my grandma was shuned by her family for a long time, she was Jewish and she married a C of E.

There is a lot of snobbery in my family, all I have to say is ( pity about them ) my own sister is very snobbish and has alway's looked down on me ( but what do I care ) I live in the real world, one that treat's people as equal's.

Old cotton knickers and singlets make the best dusters:-))

Tec is only ever a gentleman and would never handle anyone's bits - without permission:-))

I think it's sad when a family member is shunned at a time when they need all the support they can get. My son played soccer with a lad whose parents are "christian" and they moved their daughter away to family in the country when she fell pregnant. I was given a withering look when I congratulated the new grandmother.

I remember the David Frost show and John Cleese would look down on Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Barker would look down on Ronnie Corbett. Many a true word would come out of those sketches.

Good Morning Sue - Ma'm,
Don't forget to practice the Regal Wave when out in the car - you do sit in the back I assume?

Diane - Sorry to shatter your illusions, but I was never a gentleman - though I did try.

Linda, The sweep didn't make much mess, but all surfaces end up with a film of soot - I did put dust covers over nearly everything.

Persey, I was sorry to hear about the whales that beached themselves today - very sad.

I have just won the lottery, seriously I have

Persephone

Persephone Report 22 Sep 2010 22:44

Don't do gossip Diane.... actually no one that is on the threads, somone from the past.

The real world unfortunately does not treat people as equals, you and I might Diane but there is an awful lot of "I am better than you" and racism out there and some of these threads on here are proof of it.

I was going to get the bus and walk down the bustling metropolis by day and hookers area by night to meet my daughter... and now the rain has just teemed down again so looks like I will have to take the car.

Ok, so it was only three numbers,so that is only £10, not enough for a cruise I am afraid

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 22 Sep 2010 22:52

Linda I won £10 last week - that's £20 between us, we're getting there.

Persephone

Persephone Report 22 Sep 2010 22:52

Tec - we have beached whales here a lot - people spend hours out there with them trying to coach them back to sea and keeping them wet. Then those that return to sea have to be wary of the Japanese trawlers.

I am concerned about our landsnails - they are carnivores - they are unique to New Zealand and live on the west coast of the South Island in the Mokihinui River area. This River is truly gorgeous and the hills that surround it stunning and this is to have a huge dam constructed there obliterating half the scenery. The landsnails (with their uniquely patterned shells) will probably be extinct as a result of this dam though it is believed that DOC has moved some of them to somewhere safe.

Perse hun I actually thought you may have been refering to some-one well known like posh spice ( Victoria Beckham ) not some-one on the thread's as I know you wouldn't dream of gossiping about any-one on here. :)

Linda you know what they say ( thing's come in 3's ) just as long as they increase hun.

Tec, have you been dusting and sweeping all afternoon to get rid of all that soot deposit that has been left everywhere. In that case why didn't you win the lottery as they say sweep's are lucky, and although you arn't ( a chimney sweep ) you have been sweeping. ( my attempt at a bad joke )

Well, if it is third time lucky Diane, you better get a lottery ticket next week as it was Tec, then me,so it can be you next week.

I've just opened the blinds and it looks like rain:-( My daughter and her fiance are having a small engagement party on Saturday so I hope the rain stays away for then. She's stressing enough as it is.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 22 Sep 2010 23:16

Oh dear Sue, if she is stressing about the party, what will she be like about the marriage? Still I am sure you will be there to smooth things out as always

Diane

Diane Report 22 Sep 2010 23:19

Well Sue it might stay away for you as it has just arrived here in torrent's, it is bucketing down.

Linda I don't do the lottery on a Wednesday unless it is a roll-over, but may do it next week to see if I can match you and Tec.

Diane

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 22 Sep 2010 23:21

Persey the Japanese maintain they only catch whales for research purposes - as you would say, yeah right.

Hope the landsnails will survive the new location - very important that they survive if they're unique to NZ.

Diane I'll make sure I do the lottery on Saturday - imagine us lot on a cruise ship - but it would have to be a posh one if Sue is coming.
