Looks like I've missed you again, Linda. It's good to know that you are buying tickets - I have a feeling it won't be long before we are all on our lovely cruise ship!

Goodnight to those leaving and good morning to those just starting the day. Goodwhatever to Diane - she will be in between there somewhere.

Hello there Berona

Well I must say farewell for the day.

Have just been talking with someone who lives between CBD in Christchurch and the Port Hills - she arose early this morning a 4.3 quake got her out of bed. The tremors still keep coming.

I am going to brave the weather (I think) and get the bus - I have a very big brollie and quite strong... hope I don't end up sailing across the sky with it.

I am sure it will be alright on the night as they say Sue... the engagement party will go well and you can wear your tiara or whatever you regal people wear.

Bows and scrapes, exit stage left.

Persey xx (*_*)

Good night Tec,
hope the dog goes to bed upstair's for you, hope you and OH have a good night's rest.

Good morning Berona,
hope you are well, you have just arrived before I hobble off to bed as my hip need's to be laid to rest, it is being a pain tonight and I keep haveing to get up and walk around to stop the pain.
I hope you are right about us soon winning the lottery as I could really do with a cruise, I'll just leave the hip behind and use the captain's wooden leg.

Good night all and enjoy your day down under's.

~~~~~~ to all who are not around.
Sue - It's not what I would call 'overcast' although the sky is covered in cloud, but quite bright and the sun keeps breaking through for a few moments at a time. It does't seem like it will rain and there are no signs of it having rained overnight.
Hope it is fine for the engagement party.
Diane - I would like to know that you have had that tummy pain attended to by a doctor. Don't want to scare you, but about 25 years ago, I had a pain on the left side of my tum and the pain increased until I went to a doctor and he sent me for an x-ray, but guessed it was Diverticulitis, and he was right. He explained that it was 'rubbish' around the bowel and advised me to eat half a cup of unprocessed bran daily. I did and it went away. I continued eating the bran for a few years, then lapsed back to having what the rest of the family had - bacon, eggs, etc. Now and again I would feel the pain coming back - so I'd go back onto the bran, but I have been strictly eating cereal for breakfast for a few years now, and no problems.
However, In March, last year, my son had pains which he thought were gastric until he actually felt the pop when his bowel burst. An emergency trip in the ambulance and an operation in the early hours of the morning,, saved his life. He then wore a bag for five months and another major operation to repair and replace part of the bowel, and he was back to normal - but it was very nasty at the time - and the name given was Diverticulitis. He was told it can be inherited. I had never heard of it until I had it myself and obviously, mine was at a much earlier stage than my son's was. Like I said, I don't want to scare you, but it would be peace of mind to know that it is not something serious.
Yours could be something to do with your job, but it might not too, so please don't ignore it. It should have 'gone away' by now if it was only muscular.
This is what this thread is all about, aches pains, remedies.
Flowers, pine trees, and lots of food.
Lizards, insects, cats, dogs, llamas and Marmite.
Babies and little children and then older ones as well plus the OHs.
Chimney sweeps, luncheons, cake servers, dusting, selling icecream and lottery purchases
You name it you will find it somewhere in amongst this golden thread.
Morning everyone,
I went to birmingham to see the Pope. I left Exeter 1.15am and the coach got to Birmingham about 5.00. i had a good view.I got back to Exeter 6.00 pm.
I went to work on the Monday. I was shattered! I think I must have got sunstroke or something because my cheeks were quite pink.
I'm feeling ok now though!
I just looked out of the window and saw Mary Poppins floating across the garden. No, it can't be. it must be Perse and her umbrella.
Good morning Pat from soggy Yorkshire
Berona
Berona Report 23 Sep 2010 09:02
Linda - It WAS Mary Poppins!.....Perse was still in NZ last time I checked.
Patricia - That was a long trip. Were you able to sleep on the coach? No wonder you were shattered on Monday. I'm pleased to know you had a good view.
No probably just a speck on my glasses Berona.
I hope it is all spring like where you are, it is raining here
Persephone
Persephone Report 23 Sep 2010 10:16
Berona - when did you pop over the stream to see what I was up to.
Morning Pat from "soggy Yorkshire Pudding"
And all our sheep look really dirty and so so many poor little lambs in Southland have died. The biggest loss they have had in a long time.
And yes I thought I was going to have lift off (and be more than a spec on your glasses Linda) - my brolly has flaps like an aeroplane and the wind just whizzed through the gaps. But fortunately I only encountered one heavy downpour on the way.
My SIL's sister (mother of Thea not yet 3 and Isla just a baby) her husband and the two girls have just got back from Guernsey visiting friends and her mother. Now she is talking about moving to UK or Guernsey as most of her friends are over there. So SIL is not happy he is very fond of his sister - they were born in the same year him in the January and her 31 Dec but they grew up apart. Him with his dad in NZ and she with her mum in Guernsey.
I am not sure what to think as I fear he might want to go over there as well. My daughter met him in London and she loves London etc and could easily go back to work there (she worked for the BBC when she was there). If they do go back I for one will be doing lots of trips.
Well just look on the bright side Perse, if they do move over here and you come to visit, we could get to meet. Of course you may well consider that to be a drawback lol
Berona
Berona Report 23 Sep 2010 11:15
Perse - I have to check up on you quite often - ever since you sent me the photo of that 'longdrop'. I keep imagining you being in one when it happens to float off the edge.....and you would certainly need your brolly if that happened - preferably a parachute!
Persephone Report 23 Sep 2010 11:33
Yes well um errrhhh - I will come and sit in your theatre Linda and by an ice -cream.
He will want to go to Isle of Mann and Cumberland. I will definitely want to go to Kent. I have only been to London and in close proximity thereof.
One of my fridge magnets is one from Holmfirth has a picture of Sid's Café and Nora's steps.
Have just been watching QI.
Edit: Berona I don't teeter on the brink of a cliff we do have an ensuite.
Ah Perse, so you are as posh as Sue
I like QI as well, it is repeated ad naseum on the satellite channels.
Cumberland is part of the Lake District,so lovely, Kent, well you drive through it on the way to the ferry. I haven't been to the Isle of Mann, but I remember my parents went on holiday there once.
