Diane Report 23 Sep 2010 23:26

Hi Amanda, thank's hun and yes the pain was really bad this morning and that is what made me decide to go to A+E, I wish I hadn't bothered as sitting waiting only agrivated my hip even more, I was up and down like a blue A*s* fly walking and then sitting then walking again.

Enough of me, hope thing's are fine with all of you and you have enjoyed your day or about to enjoy it, sorry not to speak individually to you all but I'm ready for an early night as I'm really wacked out.

I'll catch up with you all tomorrow

Good night Brit's and have a nice day down under's

The shoemakers are on my mother's side.... one of them my great grandfather was also good at carpentry and he made a pew and the font for the little old church where they are buried along with quite a few family members, here in a place called Drury.

Amanda2003 Report 23 Sep 2010 23:30

Sue ..... I wonder if Aimee was looking for the seed she planted ....lol

I hope the Sunflowers make a good recovery .

Well , I'm going to make a quiet dash for bed . OH went up at 9pm as he is intending to get up at 3.30am and go off on his sailing adventure . I felt really sad for him earlier as his friend , who had promised to go with him on his boat has got a bad back and has pulled out . He could have let us know this morning but " forgot " to phone ! OH had been busy making arrangements and stocking up his supplies on the boat , working out his " passage plan " etc only to have his plans dashed .
He is now going to be " crew " on another chaps boat instead . Having said all this , it might still get cancelled as we are forecast strong winds tomorrow .

So , good night to all the Brits and enjoy your Spring weather to you Aussies etc : ))

Perse just came back to answer your Question.

I had a bone density scan done some yrs ago and it wasn't to bad, but I had blood test done about 18mths ago that confirmed I have arthritis but only in the early stages.

Don't worry Sue I will go to the Dr's as I have to see him about something else, so I can ( as you say ) kill 2 bird's with 1 stone

Speak to you all Tomorrow

Goodnight Diane and Amanda - sleep tight.

I'm wondering where Linda is too. Maybe the haircut went wrong and she doesn't dare show us.

I'm off too as I have some things to do before delivering some stuff to my daughter's place. All go now for the party tomorrow night.

Take care all and ~~~~~~~~~~to all looking in.

Diane, Don't be put off by the actions of the hospital. Pain doesn't happen for no reason - so get along to the doctor as soon as you can and if he doesn't suggest an x-ray - you suggest it.
Be a good girl and do as you're told!!

LindainHerriotCountry Report 24 Sep 2010 09:51

My hair cut was fine, although that was actually the day before and no one noticed it sobs...

I wasn't here last night because I have man bug, not that I am a man, I hasten to add. OH spent Monday in bed with his man bug and has kindly passed it on to me. Being a woman of course, I have simply kept going and fulfilled all of my commitments. I must admit that I did feel as if I had a temperature yesterday afternoon, but maybe that was just the reflected heat from all the Aussies we had in. They must have got a bus trip up to visit us, there were so many of them. Anyway I went to bed at 6pm and just watched the TV, I am not that bad,no need to put your nurses uniforms on and rush over (especially you Tec, although you may like dressing up lol) I only have a cold.

We had a really bad storm during the night,it was so windy that the noise kept waking me up. I have to be out and about today, I have Meals on Wheels to do, but I will steer clear of the old folks, then I have to drive OH to the hospital so they can do a photo of his eye. He was referred by his optician because they said the pressure in one eye was slightly high, but when he attended the hospital, they measured it on their accurate machines and said it was fine. They just wanted a photo and would see him again in six months. Why they couldn't do the photo on the same appointment I have no idea. No wonder the NHS costs so much money.

It is exactly the same as you said Diane, why couldn't they do an x ray while you were already there, instead of it costing more to set up another appointment. I hope that you had a better night's sleep last night.

Hello Linda - I was just a little concerned about you. I didn't notice your hair do because you always look so gorgeous:-))

I love a good thunderstorm but not wind. Seems there were quite a few places across the UK that had storms.

I guess they're taking the picture so they can compare it in 6 months. I'm afraid I get very cynical about medical stuff. Our local medical centre has some excellent doctors but you only have to have an ingrown toenail and you are sent to x-ray, a dietician, physiotherapy and a counsellor.

It is raining again, it had better stop before I need to go out.

The level for reporting glaucoma levels to the hospitals was lowered recently,so the opticians are sending lots of extra patients, so the hospital can't cope. That means it is taking ages to get an appointment, only to find that there is nothing wrong with the level, just that it is on the higher end of normal. The problem is, some poor soul who really does need treatment will end up waiting ages for an appointment as well and the damage will be done before they get treated .

It is nearly a week before we go Sue, so I will be better by then, it is only a cold, or terrible flu, if you listen to OH.

I am looking forward to seeing them, I miss my daughter so much, although I do speak to her everyday.

Hello Linda ( your hair looks lovely ) and I hope your feeling better now .

Well my day has got off to a fine start , not . OH left the house at 3.30 am , to sail the seven seas ( well Lowestoft to Shotley Point Harwich anyway . )

1 ) I pulled back the hall curtains when I got up and the entire curtain ended up flying off the end of the rail , no way I can put it back on as the hall window is out of my reach .

2) Now the pilot light has gone out on the boiler , so no hot water for me , probably all weekend as I can't work out how to turn the blasted thing back on . I've tried looking for instruction on the www but there are so many " danger of death / electrocution etc " warnings that I've well and truley freaked myself out and dare not touch anything on the boiler .

I wonder what else the week end has in store for me ......lol

Persephone

Persephone Report 24 Sep 2010 11:24

So it's only the curtain that has gone off the rails eh Amanda?

Pity you can't just book into a posh hotel and leave everyone to it.

LOL... no sorry shouldn't laugh please ignore that... I am sorry I would not want to be in that situation.... I am always in hot water over something or other would you like some of mine?

Love the very caring and concerned Persephone

Amanda2003 Report 24 Sep 2010 12:09

Thanks for that Persey ......you have made me giggle : )

I keep going back and staring at the blasted boiler with a furrowed brow . I ought to just forget about it really . I can always boil kettles for hot water so it's not the end of the world .....lol

I've got half the veg chopped and peeled ready for the grand stew , so far no digits lost : O
