Ooh everyone's having parties:)

Hope grandson's goes well Amanda:)
Sure you can bop with the best of them lol.

My b'day next week and I have no intention of partying.
I'm planing to buy myself (joint acct with hubby, so his pressie.lol) a Clogau Gold Welsh ring.
I have quite a few pieces of Clogau jewelery, I wear a wedding ring my hubby bought me cos my original is too wide now and causes me an allergic rash.
I wear it when I can, it's white gold as is my engagement ring, but wear the rose gold Cogau one otherwise, it's been blessed.:)

Hi Berona ~~~~

Hope is all well with you:)

I'm still waiting for an apt with the Orthopaedic Neurologist about my hand and arm ,and was told in the week the waiting tiime is 16 to 20 weeks !!

Hubby's been off for a few days, he now has a project planned to revamp the bathroom, he's taken up the pine laminate floor, put old carpet back down and cleared the one wall ready for tiling:) He's into DIY but will have a plummer in as all the appliances are being moved around.
Just hope we're not without the loo for too long .lol

I'm well, thanks Sue. Good night to those not yet retired for the night, and good morning to the Downunders.

Amanda - I'm sure you will enjoy the party. Nothing like a grandchild's party to make you feel you are glad you don't have a lot of grandchildren!

Sandie - Go ahead - indulge yourself. Happy birthday!

I would just like to say I am an only child, there is only me to fall out with or get along with depending on how the mood takes me.

My most intelligent conversations are had with myself.

I was an only child too, Perse - until I was nearly twelve. My Mum was second in a family of ten and she thought it would be lovely to have just one - but once I started high school, she changed her mind and gave me a little brother.
But that only made us both feel like an only child. I felt more like his auntie and even to-day, we don't have much in common. He is in his sixties and has never married, so when we are together, it's hard to find a subject we can both talk about!

Hi All
just popped on to let you all know I won't be on the thread later as it is to painful to sit to use my lappy, in fact the only way the pain in my hip goes is if I stand up and walk around or I lie on my right side.

Sue I hope your daughter engagement party went well and a good time was had by all.

Amanda I hope your grandson's party went well and there wasn't to much mess to clean up.

Hope to speak to you all soon

Diane, So sorry to know you are in such trouble with your hip, and rotten luck for this to happen on your break, but at least you can rest. Make sure you keep warm, and I assume you have pain killers to take. Hope things get easier very soon - take care.

Morning all

I looked back and had to change that as you might've thought I was shouting I had the puter on capital lock.

I didn't go to a party so it was just me and him here... we had a big dose of Midsomer - they showed a program about Midsomer Murders and then we watched an actual program. There were all the actors, telling about the stories and saying things like the house prices in Midsomer must be real cheap as who would want to live there.

So Amanda and Sue how did your parties go?

Oh dear Diane you really are suffering, when I had sore hips and I they couldn't find out what was wrong I was told I probably need a new mattress.

I told my OH he had to read what Linda put about her OH when they went to the non-appointment. I said to "himself " Linda's husband is so like you and he said what Good looking, charming, caring and has gorgeous women chasing him?

Persey xx

lol Perse, that is so funny. I haven't noticed any women of any description chasing my OH though.

Poor Diane, I hope you get sorted out soon. I once tore the ligaments in my back and it was agony, I just couldn't sleep at all, there was no way I could lie down in comfort.

Actually Perse, the mattress being too hard can make your hips hurt. One of my hips was often very sore to touch. I thought that it was the joint, but when I saw the osteopath who was helping with the ligament problem, he said that my joints were fine and the problem was the mattress. I bought a mattress topper and the pain went away.

Hello Tec ...

There is now 12 hours difference between us again. OH said to me that he would shift all the clocks forward before he went to bed. (that'll be a first) It didn't happen - he only did his cellphone. He has never done any of the oven clocks that we have had.
When I first knew him he would turn the oven off at the wall which was fine in the days before clocks were on stoves. My father's oven clock was one where you had to move it on like a car clock. When he was getting older I checked with him as to whether he knew how to put his clock back/forward and he said no he just turned it off at the wall and then turned it back on when it was the right time.

At least the computer knows what to do.

Good Morning Persey,
Good Evening Linda,

It's been a beautiful Autumn day here, blue sky, warm sunshine all day.
Transferred my tubs with azaleas from the back garden to the front which is South facing to take advantage of any winter sunshine. They are already coming into flower which is very odd, as they are supposed to flower in early Spring.
I also wrote up another three chapters of my life history - I don't call them memoirs, as I'm not important enough to have memoirs - but hopefully will make interesting reading if only as social history. Maybe my grand daughter will read them one day.

Hello people : )

Diane .....so sorry to hear that your hip is getting worse . I guess all the damp weather isn't helping either : ( I hope you can find some comfortable way to be .

Persey .....so are you getting lighter evenings now , our clocks will go back soon ( next month ) .

The birthday party went very well . My daughter had hired a place , it's a little community building that is used by various groups , very basic but just the ticket for a bunch of lively kids . There was a disco ( the chap was very good at keeping the kids on the move ) . Everyone went home looking very happy . There wasn't to much mess to tidy afterwards and several willing grown ups to lend a hand .

I hope Sues daughters party went as well : ))

Good evening Tec,
It was cold here, but we spent the afternoon on the allotment. Oh was digging up potatoes while I picked loads of apples. I also cut the dead stems from all the onions which had been drying and cleaned some of the outer skin off. We brought everything back here to store.

I am very impressed with your life history, it is a lovely idea because I would love to have known more about my grandparents

Tecwyn Report 25 Sep 2010 22:01

Hi Persey,

It's easier to remember that there is a 12 hour difference now. There are so many clocks in this house that it's a major operation when the hour changes. I always manage to mess up the chiming clocks so that they end up not in sync with the actual time.
Never touch the clock on the oven, or the boiler - what's an hour between friends?
