Good Evening Amanda,
Glad the party was such a succes and that the children went home happy, Have you heard from OH out on the ocean waves?

Linda, You've both been very industious on the allotment gathering in the harvest. Well done.
I would also have been interested in my grand parents lives before I knew them. I think todays young people would be fascinated to know what life was like in the 40s and 50s - there have been so many changes in everyones life, and social conditions. I have read back some of mine and it reads like something out of Dickens lol - no facetious remarks please.

Tec.

Goodevening LInda .....no drinkies for me tonight I'm afraid . I have the five year old Granddaughter here tonight ( as Granddad is off on his adventure a bed space was instantly bought into use as a " trump" card by my daughter ....lol ) . It sounds as if you could do with some wine after hard labour on the allotment .

Tec ....I like the sound of your writings as well . What a brilliant thing to leave for future generations : ))
Does your cave look like a Swiss clock shop ?

I would never deem to be facetious Tec, I even had trouble spelling it.

Hello Tec .... yes I have heard from my OH . Funnily enough yesterday we tried to phone each other at exactly the same time , he got the engaged tone but I got through .....lol
They had a somewhat rough passage and didn't go all the way to Shotley point , they where at ( something ? ) MIll , Woodbridge , having gone several miles up the river . I think it's quite tidal so they couldn't get back up the river until today ( he phoned again earlier ) to say they are closer to the sea again and ready to come back in the morning . It will start off pretty rough again tomorrow but should ease a bit as the day goes on .
I will be glad to have him back safe and sound ( then he can fix the boiler ....lol )

Good morning/evening all.

You are very welcome Linda xx

Diane - I so hope you get your hip sorted soon. I hate the thought that you are in so much pain.

Amanda - I'm glad your boy's party went off well. Did you enjoy it?

Tec - I think your memoirs would make wonderful reading. You are certainly important enough to write memoirs.

Hello Perse:-))

Did you enjoy our daughters party Sue?

Persephone Report 25 Sep 2010 22:30

We have a lot of 'Idiots' here that go out in little dinghys without life jackets and the next thing the weather turns rough and there is a rescue operation on. The amount that gets spent on rescuing because of sheer stupidity is beyond the pale. And some of these prats take their kids with them and they don't have life jackets either.

Gets down off soap box!!

Glad to hear hubby will be back soon to fix the boiler..... I know I would've found myself a nice young man to do it by now.

Hello Sue ..... yes I enjoyed the party very much . It was all very well organised and I was proud of my daughter for having got it all together : ))
I had no idea that my Grandson was such an enthusiastic dancer , he was flinging himself about doing some " break dance " sort of moves , he did knock little Emily over at one point but she just got back up and started spinning on the spot ....lol........all the kids there where on the go constantly , I wish I had their energy ....lol

How did your party go ?

Cuckoo indeed Persey : ))

My daughter's party went off very well. She glowed the whole night and her fiance looked so happy. In fact when giving a speech he was quite teary. My girl deserves a happy life.

One thing that I've found annoying at times is that people are quite open in saying that my daughter is lucky to find someone prepared to take on 3 children. I always think that her fiance is lucky to get such a lovely deal. My daughter and her 3 beautiful children. Last night I met my future SIL's family and they all told us how lucky he is to have met my daughter and privileged to be able to be a step-dad to the kids. We've already met his parents and they adore our girl but to see how well loved she is by the rest of the family was wonderful and the children are treated no differently to the other children in the family.

The other good thing that happened is that my sister and her husband turned up after saying they wouldn't be coming and that made the night even better.

Persephone Report 25 Sep 2010 22:38

I know what you mean Sue, my eldest grandchild is not my SIL's daughter.
Prior to them getting married his sister said to him I always thought you would marry someone that has a child or children and how happy she was for him. My daughter calls her MIL mum and it can get quite confusing when we are all at a gathering.
I saw where Maia had put a photo of herself with my SIL on facebook with the caption.... anyone can be a father but it takes a lot to be a daddy.

I wish your daughter, your grandchildren and your SIL to be all the best and I am really happy for them.....

Love Persephone xx

I'm so pleased to hear that your party went well Sue , I wish the happy couple all the blessings imaginable : )) It's great to know that your Grandchildren are loved by their new extended family and what a lovely surprise it must have been when your Sister and hubby turned up : ))

Persey , there are some really stupid people about aren't there , the sea ( and indeed rivers ) should never be taken lightly . My OH is mega safety conscious , his Dad was a member of the lifeboat crew many years ago .
