Hi all~ ( Sue already on )

It's been very sunny here today, and not too cold.

I washed my hair and went out for a walk to dry it !
It's naturally curly and is better when it is dried naturally in the warm wind .lol
... to rub it in to the poms, like you said:)).. but I think YOU meant your down under friends..?

Good Evening / Noswaith dda,

From a very sunny and warm Wales (well it was)

Today I cut up and chopped piles of kindling for the winter fires - tidied up the garden - and spent a pleasant hour sitting in the grotto by the water feature listening to the birds singing. That was a good day.

Hi Sandie and Tec - the Welsh contingent is here:-)) Sounds like you both had a lovely Sunday.

Sandie - some people on here (no names) don't like me reminding them that it's spring here lol

Hi Sue,

I rather enjoy hearing about your lovely weather, especially in our winter when it's cold, wet, and windy. Reminds me that summers coming here soon.
Hope you are well today.

I'm well thank you Tec as I hope you and the Duchess are. We've had a few lovely days but it's still cold at night. It's just great to see the garden waking up and the birds. We had a little family of blue wrens in the back yard yesterday. The mother is a dull brown but the father is a brilliant blue.

We're fine thanks Sue - taking the Duchess's leg to the clinic tomorrow, then on Tuesday she goes for blood tests.
The birds sound nice - I feed the wild birds every day here. I think it helps them through the winter months, and we enjoy watching them.

Good morning Sue , Good Evening Tec and Sandie ,

It sounds as if you have / will have lovely days today . It has rained here off and on all day and we have only had the barest glimpse of the sun .

My OH arrived home about two hours ago . He had had a great adventure , which included being used as " practice " for the air sea rescue . They spotted the helicopter buzzing about ( they where the only yacht out in such rough seas ) and where hailed on the radio , to be asked would they mind if a member of the helicopter crew was lowered aboard for a moment ! Good practice for the crew and an exciting story for OH and his " skipper " to recount.....lol

Within fifteen minuites of being home he had the hot water back on : )) I am CLEAN and he is in the bath right now ....lol

Berona , I bet your looking forward to your little ones birthday next month : ))

For awhile we didn't hear the kookaburras as we normally do. But over the last month or so we hear them every morning. They're very fussy about what you feed them:-)) We've also noticed a lot of lorikeets and sulphur crested cockatoos around - or more than normal. I think that because we've had some decent rain over winter that they may be breeding well.

Hello Amanda - I bet it's nice to have your OH back home safely. What an adventure:-)) A great story to tell the grandkids.

My OH is in trouble. The photos that I took at the party disappeared from the computer and card. He has rung a camera shop and they told him that the photos can be retrieved but it's going to cost us $45. Very expensive photos. Most of them have been duplicated by other people but I have some of my own family and a beautiful one of the happy couple. I was not impressed.

Ohh Sue ...what a blow : (( How on earth did he manage to lose them from the computer AND the card ? Will you be paying the fee to get them retrieved ?

I like the sound of the birds in you garden as well , they are much more colourful that our native ones by the descriptions given .

Hi Amanda and Tec~~

Glad hubby's home safe and well, and enjoyed his practise adventure.
What would we do with out the men to bale us us out in our hours of need:)

I'm practical thinking and come up with better ideas than hubby, but I let him do the labour !

Tec,
Glad you sussed out Yanto's 'choice' of how he goes to bed. Spoiled ..no.
Loved..yes !
Been busy today by the sounds of things:)
Hope Duchess can take her 'own leg' to the clinic .lol. and that her blood results are good:)

Yes we are going to get them retrieved Amanda. There are photos of my mum and grandchildren and also with great grandchildren. I don't know how he did it and neither does he. I didn't stay angry for long because he felt so bad - after all he didn't mean to.

We have some lovely native birds but we also have some annoying ones.

Good Evening Amanda,
That was an exciting episode your OH had with the Air Sea Rescue lads - I hope they had a camera.
Was once on a ship in the Pacific when the American Fleet asked if they could use us for an exercise. The object being to find us. They did - suddenly a warship appeared on the horizon, fighter planes buzzed us, and two subs popped up. They later radio'd to say we had been sunk, and thanked us.
Glad normal service has been resumed with the hot water.

Sue, I wish we had your exotic birds here - very interesting.
Have you all recovered from the party?

Tec.

Sue ,

I remember ( but not the name) of someone helping retrieving wedding photos that had disappeared from their puter.
Was it Malcolm..? can't remember , will look in ' My threads'.

If you put up a post I'm sure he will help restore them for you, he's a clever and very helpful guy:)

Sue ..... I'm glad you can't stay angry for long , I bet your poor OH was as upset ( if not more so ) than you about the incident . I hope you get them back soon .

Tec...... that sounds very exciting indeed . I wonder what my OH and his friend would have made of a sub popping up next to them !! ....lol.....they where only in a 28 foot yacht .....lol
The " rescue " lads said a big " thank you " to them .

No , they didn't have a camera ( as I had mine for the birthday pics )

Sue - Sometimes cameras and computers do strange things and no one is to blame, it just seems to happen. Glad to hear you can retrieve them.

Sandie - I think the cunning old dog has me on a bit of string - he may be cracking up, but has always had a wicked sense of humour - he thinks I'm a joke I'm sure lol.

Apparently with the card even if you delete them the camera shop can retrieve them as they never disappear. Fingers crossed.

Amanda here is a website that shows some of the birds we have around here. Of course not all of them are from our area but we have the rainbow lorikeets, corellas, honey eater and galahs. Also the sulphur crested cockatoos and kookaburras.

Sue .....such wonderful looking birds : )) I would imagine that "birdwatching" is quite a big thing in your county . In England we get folk know as " Twitchers " who will travel vast distances in the hopes of seeing a rare migrant bird . We always know when something a bit special is a certain area , as the Twitchers always park in Asda car park and they can be seen with their viewing scopes in excited groups....lol
