I like being up high in buses because you can see over hedges

Persephone

Persephone Report 28 Sep 2010 21:46

and into peoples' gardens etc.
Sometimes you even get to see in their windows and that is not necessarily a good thing.
Why don't people shut their curtains when they put the light on at night.... the rest of the world doesn't want to know?

I see houses down in the valleys that I never knew were there because you can't see over the stone walls from the car - not that I am in the habit of peering over stone walls while driving lol.

Perse I think you will have a wonderful time traveling for free all over the place.

Ooh, what do you do at night which you wouldn't want people to see Perse?

Persephone

Persephone Report 28 Sep 2010 21:52

I intend to Tec...

I traveled free on a train as a child with my dad working for NZ Railways.

Have you been to Wellington Tec ? - they have the electric trains there and they were always a great joy to me when I was a youngster.

You lot make me wish I was old enough to have a pass, the way they are thinking with retirement age I will never get one and if I do I will probably be unable to get around by bus ect. lol, then again they will probably have taken the bus pass off pensioner's by the time it's my turn.

Hi Tec, did you get OH to the hospital ok ?

I really enjoyed my tea and now I am full to busting.

We laugh at people staring in windows here. The tourists saunter up the road peering unashamedly into all the windows. I'm sure they don't do this at home.
We have a mirror back sideboard on a wall opposite the bay window, there are no nets on the window as the Duchess dislikes nets.
One day I had awindow slightly open, when I heard a lady yell in a strong Midlands accent - "Oi Derek come and see this lovely old sideboard"
It is not easy to look straight in as there is a tree in the way, but there they were leaning over my front railings staring straight in to the room.
I was so tempted to throw open the front door and ask if they wanted to come in for a better look - but they might have said yes lol.

lol Perse.

Tec, did you notice that Berona said she couldn't wait to talk more to us when the clocks change. That is worrying because we will have to think of interesting things to say, well I will anyway, you are always interesting of course

Hello everyone - aren't you a chatty lot:-))

Linda - I'm glad you've got through the weekend and that you had your sister with you.

Tec - I hope your Duchess's blood test is ok. Did you bring her leg back?

I rarely travel by bus because they are awkward to catch from where I live.

Sandie - I'm glad you received your ring for your birthday. You've been spoiled:-))

You stay young and bootiful Diane.....

Age creeps up on you way too quickly for my liking.... I think one should have all the freebies when one is young and can enjoy it but can't afford it.

Hi Diane, Yes thank you - the hospital visit was fine - they only took a gallon of blood from OH LOL.

Yes Persey, I have been to Windy Wellington, but not on the trains.

You need a nice big hedge Tec. We have a Beech one which stops people from seeing in. When we first came here it was tiny, it is much better now it is tall and thick.

I bet they do withdraw the bus passes Diane, but in a way, it is a waste of money to give them to everyone
