Diane -

These Commonwealth Games are a bit of trial with bomb threats and the like bound to be happening. The New Zealanders are not allowed to do the Haka in case it is seen by other countries as provocation etc.

I know Perse, we are not allowed to be ourselves anymore for fear of upsetting people, I don't know why we don't just all become one nationality and and become dummy's without mind's of our own, sorry if I upset anyone but I am me and if you don't like what you see then ignore me and let me get on with my life and you with your's.

Sue when are you comeing over to the UK, if it were possible I would love to get to meet you and maybe a few other's on here.

You'll never find the cave - you'll need llamas, sherpas, sat navs, mosquito nets, interpreters, armed escort. and contact with the British Embassy to send in the SAS to rescue you lol.

The way I see it Perse, if the Haka is ok with the Queen then it can't be affensive to anyone, I remember watching it on TV when they did it when she visited some time ago.

Diane - it's getting like that isn't it. Such a shame because I always think we should appreciate the differences between us. We've also lost the ability to laugh at ourselves.

We're hoping to go to the UK next year. We plan to go to Europe before spending a few weeks in the UK. I have every intention of meeting up with as many people as I can and I would love to meet you. It'll be easy meeting up with Linda because she lives not far from OH's family.

How many of you are coming? I've just had a count, and can seat 27 people at any one time.
That sounds like a coach trip lol - it's only a tiny village, they'll go into shock.

Sue you are so right hun, one thing I can say about us Scouser's we can sure have a good laugh even when the joke is on us.
Here's one for you, some yrs ago I was at a club called the She in Liverpool and the lad I was danceing with asked me were I lived ( he was a scouser ) when I told him I was from Huyton he replied ( do I cut my throat now or later ) my reply was, no mate I have no problem doing the job myself, we both laughed and carried on danceing, ( he thought I was messin ) lol,
just in case someone read's that who is just looking in, I really was only jokeing ( honest ).

We went to the Edinburgh Tattoo in 2000. It was a great time to go as they celebrated the new millenium and they also had a Celebration of the Commonwealth. They had a police band from South Australia and a wonderful group of Aborigines. The police band joined them in a traditional dance. They also had a group of Maoris doing some traditional dancing and of course the Haka. It made us feel very proud to be down-underers:-))

Perse I don't know all the different Haka's but the one I think I have seen is the one the all black's do.

I worked with a scouser Diane - she and I used to have lots of laughs - her claim to fame was she went to primary school with Kenneth Cope.

Back from taking a phone call from my brother
The inland revenue have finally got their act together and have refunded the tax over paid by my mother. It has only taken them a year. The money should arrive in the next few days, so once i deal with that, I will be able to close the executors account down and that will be the last part of the admin done with.

Diane - my daughter's ex FIL is Irish and he delights in telling Irish jokes. At a family gathering someone told him he was being rascist and he of all people should know better. We all thought that was silly. I hate racism and sexism but sometimes PC goes too far in my opinion.

Tec - are you sure you want us all? Did I hear you say yes? Your poor Duchess:-))
